Overview

The DYN 1/2 Machined Aluminum Servo Arm in black is a premium quality servo horn designed for RC enthusiasts who demand precision control and durability from their radio-controlled vehicles. Whether you're running an RC car in the UK, piloting an RC buggy, or fine-tuning a crawler, this Dynamite machined alloy servo arm offers the rigid performance characteristics you need to dial in exact steering and throttle response. The single-arm design provides straightforward installation while the full-length construction gives you versatile mounting options across a wide range of RC applications.

Built from machined aluminium rather than injection-moulded plastic, this servo horn eliminates the flex and slop that often plague nylon alternatives. This means your servo movements translate directly into precise vehicle control, which is essential whether you're competing or just enjoying weekend bashing with friends. The black colour finish looks great on any RC model and matches the aesthetic of modern RC cars and trucks perfectly.

With Futaba servo fitment (25T spline), this horn is compatible with most modern Futaba and Savox servos, making it an ideal upgrade or replacement for anyone running these popular radio control systems. If you're serious about dialling in your RC setup for maximum performance and precision, the Dynamite machined servo arm is an affordable yet effective way to significantly improve your vehicle's handling characteristics.

Key Features

  • Machined Aluminium Construction — Unlike plastic servo horns, this arm is precision machined from solid aluminium alloy, which provides superior rigidity and eliminates the flex that compromises steering precision and throttle response in RC cars and buggies.
  • Single Arm Design — The single configuration offers a straightforward, lightweight mounting option that works across diverse RC applications including cars, buggies, crawlers, and boats, whilst remaining simple to install and adjust.
  • Futaba 25T Spline Compatibility — Designed specifically for Futaba and Savox servo fitment with the standard 25T spline, ensuring reliable connection with modern servo models commonly used in UK RC shops and hobby setups.
  • Drilled and Tapped for 3mm Hardware — The arm features pre-drilled and tapped holes sized for 3mm linkage hardware, allowing you to quickly and securely attach throttle and brake linkages without additional drilling or modification.
  • Full-Length Construction with Multiple Holes — The complete arm includes both drilled and tapped holes as well as blank holes, providing maximum versatility for mounting a wide range of throttle and brake linkage configurations to suit different vehicle setups.
  • Zero-Flex Performance — By eliminating the inherent flex found in nylon and plastic servo arms, this machined design ensures instantaneous throttle and brake response with no lag or deflection, critical for both racing and general RC control.
  • Black Finish — The sleek black colour provides a professional, modern appearance that complements contemporary RC vehicles and blends seamlessly with black servo casings and radio gear.
  • Lightweight Yet Robust — Machined aluminium offers an excellent strength-to-weight ratio, meaning you get superior rigidity without adding unnecessary mass to your RC vehicle's control systems.

Technical Performance

This Dynamite machined aluminium servo arm represents a significant performance upgrade over standard plastic alternatives found in many budget RC setups. The precision machining process produces a component with consistently tight tolerances, ensuring there is virtually no slop between the servo shaft and the arm itself. This direct, rigid connection is absolutely critical for RC enthusiasts who want predictable, repeatable control — whether you're navigating tight rock crawling sections, executing high-speed cornering in a buggy, or managing precise throttle control on a touring car. The machined construction means the arm will not flex or deflect under load, unlike nylon arms which can bend slightly under acceleration or braking forces, causing dead zones in your control inputs. The 3mm drilled and tapped holes provide secure mounting points for your linkage hardware, and the multiple hole positions along the arm's length give you flexibility in adjusting your geometry for different driving styles and vehicle setups. The Futaba 25T spline interface is manufactured to standard specifications, ensuring a perfect fit with genuine Futaba and compatible Savox servos. The black anodised finish provides basic corrosion resistance suitable for typical UK RC use, though as with all metal components, occasional cleaning and light maintenance will extend the service life. Whether you're upgrading a single servo on your RC crawler or refreshing the control arms across your entire fleet of RC cars, this machined alloy arm delivers professional-grade performance at an accessible price point.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which servo types is this machined servo arm compatible with? — This Dynamite arm is designed for Futaba and Savox servos with 25T spline fitment. Before purchasing, verify your servo spline count by checking your servo's specification sheet or consulting with our knowledgeable team at RC Model Shop. We stock servo horns for all major spline types including 23T (KO Propo, JR, Sanwa, Airtronics), 24T (Hitec), and 25T (Futaba, Savox) to ensure you find the perfect match for your RC setup.
  • Why should I upgrade to a machined aluminium servo arm instead of using plastic? — Machined aluminium arms provide zero flex compared to injection-moulded plastic, which means your steering inputs and throttle commands translate into immediate, precise vehicle response with no lag or deflection. For RC cars, buggies, crawlers, and other vehicles, this rigidity directly improves handling predictability, cornering accuracy, and throttle control — essential whether you're racing competitively or enjoying casual weekend bashing.
  • What is the difference between a single-arm and a multi-arm servo horn? — A single arm, like this Dynamite model, provides one control point and is lighter and simpler to install, making it ideal for straightforward linkage setups. Multi-arm (two-hole or offset) designs provide additional mounting options for complex geometry adjustments, allowing you to fine-tune your vehicle's control response characteristics. For most standard RC applications, a single arm is perfectly adequate and reduces weight.
  • Can I use this arm for both steering and throttle on my RC car? — Absolutely. The Dynamite arm's full-length construction with multiple drilled and tapped holes accommodates both steering linkages and throttle/brake linkages, making it a versatile upgrade for any servo on your RC vehicle. The 3mm holes are sized to accept standard RC hardware commonly available from UK RC retailers.
  • Is this servo horn suitable for beginners? — Yes, this arm is ideal for beginners upgrading their RC setup. It's straightforward to install — simply remove your existing plastic horn and swap in this machined aluminium arm using the same servo shaft connection. The immediate improvement in control precision makes it a worthwhile first upgrade for anyone serious about improving their RC car's handling.
  • What size linkage hardware does this arm accept? — This servo arm is drilled and tapped for 3mm linkage hardware, which is the standard size for most RC car steering and throttle linkages. You can source compatible M3 ball links, rods, and fasteners from any major UK RC retailer or online RC shop.
  • How does arm length affect my RC's performance? — Longer servo arms increase the mechanical throw of your control inputs, meaning more vehicle movement per degree of servo rotation, but with reduced mechanical torque. Shorter arms boost torque and centring strength but reduce total throw. The 1/2-inch length of this Dynamite arm is a versatile mid-range size suitable for most RC vehicles and applications.
  • Why is the black finish important? — Beyond aesthetics, the black finish provides corrosion protection in typical UK weather conditions and matches modern RC vehicles and servo casings, giving your build a professional, cohesive appearance. Regular cleaning and occasional light maintenance will preserve the finish long-term.
