Overview

The Spektrum A6380 is a standard-size digital high-voltage servo engineered specifically for RC aircraft applications. This high torque, high speed metal gear servo delivers the precision control and reliability that sport model pilots demand. Whether you're flying fixed-wing RC planes, trainers, or intermediate sport models, the A6380 provides smooth, responsive servo action with the durability needed for consistent flight performance. As an authorised Spektrum retailer in the UK, RC Model Shop stocks this servo as part of our comprehensive range of RC aircraft servos and control system components.

Built around Spektrum's proven digital servo technology, the A6380 combines metal gear construction with a coreless motor for superior performance in demanding RC aircraft applications. The high-voltage capability (6.0-8.4V operation) means you can extract maximum torque and speed from a modern LiPo battery system, whilst the smooth coreless motor ensures precise control inputs translate directly to accurate flight control surface movement. This servo is an excellent choice for the RC enthusiast looking for dependable, mid-range performance without premium pricing.

Perfect for sport models and general-purpose RC aircraft flying, the A6380 stands out as a versatile servo that balances strength and speed. The metal gear construction provides long-term durability even with regular flying, whilst the high-voltage digital design makes it compatible with modern RC aircraft receiver systems. Whether you're a weekend flyer or someone building their next RC plane project, this servo represents genuine value for money with the performance characteristics expected from Spektrum's extensive servo range.

Key Features

  • Metal Gear Construction — The A6380 features metal gears throughout, delivering exceptional durability and longevity compared to plastic alternatives, which means your servo will withstand the continuous movement cycles involved in RC aircraft flight without premature wear or gear stripping.
  • Digital High-Voltage Operation — Designed to operate across the 6.0-8.4V range, this servo is fully compatible with high-voltage LiPo battery systems commonly used in modern RC aircraft, allowing you to achieve faster response times and greater torque output than standard voltage servos.
  • Smooth Coreless Motor — The coreless motor design eliminates magnetic cogging and delivers smoother, more linear servo response, which is critical for maintaining precise control authority during all phases of RC aircraft flight, from gentle cruising to aggressive manoeuvres.
  • High Torque and High Speed Rating — The A6380 combines both high torque and high speed characteristics, making it suitable for a wide variety of control surface applications on sport models without requiring servo substitution for different functions.
  • Standard Servo Size — The standard form factor ensures compatibility with the vast majority of RC aircraft models and retrofit applications, with mounting holes and dimensions that conform to industry-standard servo bay specifications.
  • Spektrum Digital Reliability — As a Spektrum product, the A6380 benefits from decades of development in RC servo technology and quality control standards that make it a dependable choice for pilots who value proven performance and compatibility with Spektrum RC systems.

Technical Performance

The Spektrum A6380 delivers genuine high-torque and high-speed performance across the standard servo class. Operating across a 6.0-8.4V high-voltage range, this digital servo responds to modern LiPo battery systems with faster actuation speeds and improved torque output compared to traditional voltage-limited servos. The metal gear construction throughout the drivetrain ensures durability in continuous-use flying applications, resisting the wear patterns that can degrade plastic gear servos over extended service life. The coreless motor technology eliminates the mechanical dead-band and cogging that can reduce precision in analogue servos, delivering the smooth, linear response required for accurate flight control. As a standard-size servo, it weighs and measures proportionally to fit seamlessly into sport model airframe designs without requiring custom installation modifications. The digital architecture enables rapid command processing and tight holding torque, critical for maintaining stable flight control surfaces against aerodynamic loads and trim adjustments. In terms of engineering quality, the A6380 represents Spektrum's commitment to delivering reliable, value-for-money servo solutions for the RC aircraft community across the UK and beyond. Whether mounting on control surfaces for bank and pitch control or utilising the servo for auxiliary functions like flap control or gear actuation, the A6380 provides the performance characteristics expected from a modern high-voltage digital servo.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the Spektrum A6380 suitable for beginner RC aircraft pilots? — Yes, the A6380 is an excellent choice for pilots stepping up from ultra-micro trainers to sport models. Its combination of high torque and high speed makes it forgiving and responsive without being overly sensitive, whilst the metal gear construction means it handles learning flights without mechanical degradation.
  • What is the difference between the A6380 and other Spektrum servo models? — The A6380 is a standard-size digital high-voltage servo positioned as a mid-range option. Spektrum offers the A6390 as an analogue alternative with mid-torque and mid-speed characteristics at lower cost, and the A6320 with brushless motor technology and mid-torque capability. The A6380 balances affordability with the high-voltage digital performance that modern RC aircraft pilots expect.
  • Can I use the A6380 on multiple control surfaces? — Absolutely. The high-torque, high-speed rating makes the A6380 versatile across aileron, elevator, rudder, and even flap control applications on sport models. You can deploy multiple A6380 servos across a single aircraft without requiring different servo types for different functions.
  • What battery voltage does the A6380 require? — The A6380 operates across 6.0-8.4V, making it fully compatible with standard 2S LiPo battery systems (which deliver 7.4V nominal, 8.4V fully charged). This high-voltage capability delivers maximum torque and speed output compared to 4.8V servos, improving overall flight control responsiveness.
  • How durable is the metal gear construction? — Metal gears provide significantly greater longevity than plastic alternatives, resisting wear and damage from continuous servo cycling during extended flying sessions. The A6380's metal gear design makes it suitable for pilots who fly regularly and want a servo that maintains performance across multiple seasons of use.
  • Is the A6380 compatible with my Spektrum RC receiver? — Yes, the A6380 features universal servo connectors compatible with all standard Spektrum receivers and any RC receiver system using industry-standard servo connectors. Simply connect the three-wire servo lead to any available servo channel on your receiver.
