Overview

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 100 CPS 150ml (C-81010) is an essential maintenance fluid for RC car enthusiasts across the UK who demand precision performance from their suspension systems. Whether you're a competitive racer fine-tuning your 1/10 scale RC buggy or a weekend basher looking to maintain your RC truck, quality shock oil is fundamental to achieving consistent handling and predictable suspension response. This ultra-pure silicone formulation from Team Corally represents a professional-grade solution that serious RC hobbyists trust for its reliability and consistency.

Shock oil plays a critical role in the suspension setup of modern RC cars. The viscosity rating—in this case 100 CPS (centipoise)—determines how the shock absorbers respond to terrain variations, jumps, and cornering forces. A lighter oil like 100 CPS provides faster shock response and is ideal for smoother tracks, lighter setups, or when you need quicker damping response. Team Corally's ultra-pure silicone shock oil delivers exactly what competitive drivers and serious hobbyists need: consistent, predictable behaviour lap after lap, combined with excellent temperature stability and longevity.

If you're shopping for RC car maintenance products in the UK, you'll find that quality shock oil makes a measurable difference in your vehicle's performance. The 150ml bottle size (approximately 5 fluid ounces) provides enough volume for multiple shock refills and top-ups, making it economical for regular maintenance. Available in an extensive range of viscosity grades from 100 CPS right up to 1000 CPS, Team Corally's Ultra Pure Silicone line ensures every driver can find the exact specification their suspension setup demands.

Key Features

  • 100 CPS Viscosity Rating — The 100 CPS specification indicates a lighter, lower-viscosity oil that provides faster shock response and quicker damping action, making it ideal for track use, smooth surfaces, or drivers who prefer more responsive suspension behaviour during cornering and acceleration.
  • Ultra Pure Silicone Formulation — This premium formulation ensures consistent performance across temperature ranges and extended use, with minimal breakdown or colour change over time, delivering reliable suspension tuning session after session.
  • 150ml Bottle Size — The 150ml volume is the professional standard for shock oil, providing enough fluid for multiple shock refills and maintenance top-ups without waste, while remaining easy to handle and store in your RC workshop or pit bag.
  • Precision Tuning Control — By using different viscosity grades, drivers can fine-tune suspension compliance, bump response, and rebound characteristics to match track conditions, vehicle setup, and driving style with scientific accuracy.
  • Professional-Grade Quality — Team Corally's shock oils meet the exacting standards of competitive RC racing, where suspension consistency directly impacts lap times and handling predictability in both 1/10 and 1/8 scale RC cars.
  • Extensive Viscosity Range Available — Team Corally produces this Ultra Pure Silicone shock oil in sixteen different viscosity grades ranging from 100 CPS through to 1000 CPS, allowing complete suspension customisation for any track condition or vehicle platform.
  • Reliable Performance Over Time — Ultra-pure silicone resists oxidation and thermal breakdown, maintaining consistent performance throughout the suspension service life and across multiple seasons of RC racing or recreational use.

Technical Performance

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 100 CPS represents engineered suspension fluid designed to meet the demanding requirements of modern RC car racing. The 100 CPS viscosity rating places this product in the lighter end of the Team Corally range, making it suitable for track conditions that reward responsive damping, such as smooth surfaces, technical sections requiring precise cornering feel, or vehicle setups that benefit from minimal shock resistance. The ultra-pure silicone base ensures minimal viscosity variation across ambient temperature ranges, meaning your suspension tuning remains predictable whether you're racing in summer heat or autumn dampness across UK venues. The 150ml bottle format is standard in competitive RC racing circles, providing sufficient volume for servicing multiple shocks or maintaining your existing setup through an entire racing season. Quality shock oil directly influences suspension performance; the right viscosity ensures that shocks neither feel overly stiff (which creates unpredictable handling and reduces tyre contact) nor excessively soft (which causes bottoming-out and inconsistent response). For RC drivers in the UK running 1/10 scale touring cars, buggies, truggies, or short-course trucks, precise shock oil viscosity selection is as important as damper settings themselves. Team Corally's formulation maintains its performance characteristics throughout extended use, resisting the colour darkening and viscosity changes that cheaper shock oils experience after multiple sessions, thereby keeping your suspension tuning stable and reliable.

Suspension Tuning Guide

Shock oil viscosity is a primary suspension tuning tool that directly influences how your RC car handles. Lighter oils (100-250 CPS) provide faster shock response, making them suitable for smooth tracks, technical courses, and drivers who prefer responsive handling. Mid-range oils (300-600 CPS) offer balanced performance across varied conditions. Heavier oils (700+ CPS) slow shock response, ideal for rough surfaces, high-speed runs, or cars that need additional chassis support. Always match your shock oil selection to your specific track surface, vehicle weight, and driving style. Many competitive drivers maintain multiple viscosity grades so they can adapt to changing track conditions and vehicle setups throughout the racing season.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What viscosity shock oil should I use for my RC car? — Shock oil viscosity depends on your track surface, vehicle setup, and driving preference. Lighter oils like this 100 CPS version provide faster, more responsive damping suitable for smooth tracks and technical courses. Heavier oils offer slower damping for rough surfaces or when you need more suspension support. Start with 100-150 CPS for track racing on prepared surfaces and adjust from there based on handling feel.
  • Is 100 CPS the right viscosity for my setup? — The 100 CPS specification makes this ideal if you're running a track-prepared RC car on smooth surfaces, favour responsive cornering feel, or are using a lightweight chassis setup. If your car feels too lively or under-damped, try the next viscosity up (150 CPS). If you're bashing on rough terrain, consider heavier viscosity options from the same Team Corally range.
  • How often should I change my shock oil? — Many competitive drivers change shock oil every 3-6 months of regular use or whenever the fluid becomes discoloured or shows visible contamination. Top-ups between complete changes are common practice. The 150ml bottle size allows for multiple refills, making it economical for regular maintenance.
  • Can I mix different viscosity shock oils? — Mixing viscosity grades is not recommended as it compromises suspension tuning precision. Always use a single, consistent viscosity grade throughout your shock setup. If you need to adjust damping, replace all four shocks with the new viscosity rather than mixing grades.
  • Why is ultra-pure silicone important? — Ultra-pure formulations resist oxidation, maintain consistent viscosity across temperature ranges, and resist colour change during use. This means your suspension tuning stays predictable throughout the season, unlike cheaper shock oils that break down and change viscosity after several sessions.
  • What size is the 150ml bottle and how long does it last? — 150ml (approximately 5 fluid ounces) is the professional standard size. A single bottle typically services four shocks completely and provides additional fluid for top-ups and maintenance, lasting most drivers several months of regular use depending on usage frequency.
  • Is this shock oil suitable for both 1/10 and 1/8 scale RC cars? — Yes, Team Corally's Ultra Pure Silicone shock oils are designed for use across the full range of modern RC vehicles, including 1/10 scale touring cars, buggies, truggies, and short-course trucks, as well as 1/8 scale buggies and trucks used in competitive racing.
