Overview

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 10 WT is an essential maintenance product for anyone serious about RC car performance and longevity. Whether you're running a high-performance RC buggy, truggy, or touring car, the quality of your shock absorber fluid directly impacts handling, suspension response, and overall driving experience. This 150ml bottle of premium ultra-pure silicone shock oil is specifically formulated to meet the demanding requirements of competitive and recreational RC enthusiasts across the UK and beyond.

Shock oils are critical components in RC car suspension systems, working to dampen suspension movement and provide consistent performance across varied track conditions. The viscosity grade of your shock oil determines how quickly or slowly the shock compresses and extends, which in turn affects your vehicle's cornering grip, bump compliance, and stability during acceleration and braking. With the correct shock oil installed in your RC car, you'll experience noticeably improved handling characteristics and more predictable performance lap after lap.

This Corally shock oil is trusted by RC car enthusiasts and competitive racers who understand that precision maintenance is the foundation of competitive success. Whether you're preparing your RC car for club racing, weekend bashing at your local track, or simply maintaining your collection of RC vehicles, having quality shock oil on hand is non-negotiable. The 10 WT viscosity rating makes this ideal for a wide range of RC car applications, and the ultra-pure silicone formula ensures consistent performance and longevity of your shock components.

Key Features

  • 100% Pure Silicone Oil — This shock oil is formulated from 100% pure silicone, which ensures maximum consistency, reliability, and longevity compared to lower-quality oils that may contain contaminants or inferior base stocks. Pure silicone provides stable viscosity across temperature variations, meaning your suspension performs consistently whether you're racing in summer heat or cooler spring conditions.
  • Ultra-Pure Formula — The ultra-pure designation means this oil has been refined to remove impurities and degradation products that can accumulate in shock absorbers over time. This results in cleaner operation, reduced component wear, and longer service intervals between shock rebuilds and maintenance, saving you both time and money in the long run.
  • 10 WT Viscosity Grade — The 10 WT (weight) viscosity rating positions this oil in the lighter end of the shock oil spectrum, making it suitable for conditions requiring responsive, quick-reacting suspension. This viscosity is ideal for tracks with moderate bumps, general-purpose racing, and vehicles that benefit from more responsive shock action rather than heavily damped suspension movement.
  • 150ml Bottle Size — The 150ml capacity provides sufficient volume to service multiple shock absorbers or maintain a stock of shock fluid for regular RC car maintenance. A typical 1/10 scale RC car might require 15-20ml per shock absorber, meaning this single bottle can service multiple vehicles or provide numerous maintenance cycles.
  • Professional-Grade Quality — Corally shock oils are trusted by competitive RC racers and serious hobbyists who demand consistent, reliable performance. This is not budget-grade shock oil; it's formulated to professional standards that ensure repeatable results and predictable suspension behaviour on the track.
  • Compatible with Standard Shock Absorbers — This silicone shock oil is compatible with the vast majority of RC car shock absorber designs used in 1/10, 1/8, and 1/12 scale vehicles, including coil-over shocks, oil-filled dampers, and sealed shock systems from leading manufacturers including Team Associated, Losi, TLR Racing, and others.

Technical Performance

The performance characteristics of shock absorber oil are determined by its viscosity, purity, and chemical stability. At 10 WT, this Corally oil provides a balance between damping response and compliance, offering suspension that reacts quickly to track inputs whilst still providing adequate cushioning over bumps and kerbs. The ultra-pure silicone formula ensures that the oil maintains consistent viscosity across the temperature range you'll experience during a typical racing session, preventing performance changes that can occur with inferior oils as they heat up during extended use. The 100% pure silicone base ensures excellent lubrication of internal shock components, reducing friction and wear that can develop in shock seals and piston assemblies over time. This is particularly important for competitive racers who maintain their vehicles to exacting standards and require repeatable, predictable suspension performance. The oil's purity also minimises the formation of sludge and deposits inside shock bodies, which can accumulate with lower-quality oils and degrade performance over multiple racing events. Whether you're setting up your RC car for a specific track condition or simply maintaining your existing suspension system, having genuine Corally ultra-pure silicone shock oil on hand ensures you're working with a product that meets professional standards and will deliver consistent results across your RC car collection.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What viscosity shock oil should I use in my RC car? — Shock oil viscosity is measured in WT (weight) grades, ranging from light (5 WT) to heavy (50 WT and beyond). The 10 WT rating of this oil is suited to general-purpose racing and moderate track conditions. Lighter oils (5 WT) provide quicker shock response for technical, bumpy tracks, whilst heavier oils (15-20 WT and above) offer more damping for high-speed or smooth surfaces. Your RC car's manual or setup guide will typically recommend a starting viscosity, and you can adjust from there based on track feedback and handling preferences.
  • How often should I change my RC car shock oil? — For recreational users, shock oil should be inspected and potentially changed every 10-15 hours of running time, or whenever you notice performance changes or visible degradation of the oil itself. For competitive racers, shock oil may be changed more frequently, sometimes before major race events, to ensure consistent performance. The ultra-pure formula of this Corally oil helps extend service intervals compared to lower-quality alternatives.
  • Is this shock oil suitable for both on-road and off-road RC cars? — Yes, this 10 WT shock oil is appropriate for both on-road racing vehicles and off-road RC buggies, truggies, and stadium trucks. The viscosity and pure silicone formula work equally well across different vehicle types and driving disciplines. Your specific RC car's documentation may recommend a particular viscosity, so it's worth checking before selecting your shock oil.
  • How much shock oil does each shock absorber require? — Most 1/10 scale RC car shock absorbers require between 15-25ml of oil, depending on the specific shock design and capacity. This 150ml bottle provides enough oil to service multiple shocks or support regular maintenance of your RC car collection. When servicing shocks, always follow your vehicle's maintenance instructions for proper fill levels and installation procedures.
  • What is the difference between pure silicone oil and other shock oil types? — Pure silicone oils like this Corally product offer superior temperature stability, reduced sludge formation, and more consistent viscosity characteristics compared to mineral-based oils or lower-purity formulations. Silicone oils also tend to provide better lubrication of internal shock components, reducing wear and extending the lifespan of your shock absorbers. For serious RC car enthusiasts, the performance and durability benefits of pure silicone make it the preferred choice.
  • Is this shock oil available in other viscosity grades? — Yes, Corally produces ultra-pure silicone shock oils in multiple viscosity grades to suit different track conditions and vehicle setups. If you find that 10 WT is too light or too heavy for your specific application, alternative grades are available from RC Model Shop to help you fine-tune your suspension performance.
