- Chassis Spare Component — Categorised as a chassis spare part, this component is essential maintenance stock for anyone operating a ROC Hobby 1941 MB Scaler regularly, whether for casual backyard crawling or serious competitive events.
- Direct OEM Replacement — Using genuine manufacturer spares ensures your vehicle maintains its engineered performance characteristics and avoids compatibility issues that can arise from aftermarket alternatives.
Technical Performance
The oil shock absorber spring system represents the culmination of ROC Hobby's engineering expertise in producing authentic and capable 1:6 scale crawlers. The oil-damped suspension design provides superior performance characteristics compared to simpler coil-over or air suspension systems, offering consistent damping across repeated cycles and varying terrain conditions. The spring rates are precisely engineered to work in harmony with the ROC Hobby 1941 MB Scaler's chassis geometry, wheelbase, and weight distribution to deliver optimal articulation without sacrificing stability or roll control. This is particularly important in scale crawler applications where vehicles must navigate extreme obstacles including rock gardens, vertical walls, and technical terrain whilst maintaining predictable handling characteristics. The oil medium within the shock absorber maintains consistent viscosity across temperature ranges, ensuring that whether you are running your RC scaler on a cold morning in winter or during warm summer sessions, the suspension performance remains stable and predictable. The spring component works in conjunction with the shock body to provide progressive damping that absorbs impacts efficiently whilst preventing bottoming out under extreme load. For UK-based RC enthusiasts who take their crawling seriously, whether competing in organised scale crawler events or exploring natural terrain challenges, this genuine OEM component is essential maintenance stock that should be replaced as part of routine service or when suspension performance begins to deteriorate.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is this compatible with the ROC Hobby 1941 MB Scaler? — Yes, this ROC-C1065 oil shock absorber spring is engineered specifically as a genuine replacement part for the ROC Hobby 1941 MB Scaler platform, ensuring direct compatibility and exact performance characteristics.
- How often do shock absorber springs need replacement? — Oil shock springs require replacement when damping performance degrades, which typically occurs after extended use. Signs include inconsistent suspension response, reduced articulation, or visible damage to the spring. As a rule, competitive RC crawlers should inspect and potentially replace shock components every season or every 50-100 hours of operation, depending on terrain difficulty and maintenance practices.
- What is the difference between oil-filled shocks and air springs? — Oil-damped shocks provide superior consistency and predictability because the viscosity of the oil medium maintains relatively constant damping characteristics across temperature variations and repeated compression cycles. Air springs, by contrast, can be affected by temperature changes and air pressure fluctuations, making them less suitable for serious scale crawler applications where precise and consistent performance is essential for navigating technical terrain.
- Can I use aftermarket shock springs as a replacement? — Whilst aftermarket options may exist, genuine OEM components like this ROC Hobby part are engineered to exact specifications that complement the 1941 MB Scaler's suspension geometry and overall vehicle engineering. Using genuine spares ensures you maintain the factory-intended performance characteristics and avoid potential compatibility or performance issues that can arise from non-OEM alternatives.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — This is a replacement spare part designed for owners of the ROC Hobby 1941 MB Scaler who require maintenance components. The 1:6 scale scaler platform itself is best suited to experienced RC enthusiasts who understand scale crawler operation and the technical knowledge required to maintain and adjust sophisticated suspension systems effectively.
- What tools do I need to install this component? — Installation typically requires standard RC hobby tools including screwdrivers, hex wrenches, and potentially a suspension press or similar tools depending on your vehicle configuration. We recommend consulting the ROC Hobby service manual for specific installation guidance and torque specifications.
