Overview

The Corally Turnbuckle M5 70mm S2 Springsteel (C-00180-892) is an essential suspension tuning component for serious RC car enthusiasts in the UK who demand precision engineering and reliability. This pack of two professional-grade turnbuckles represents the kind of quality upgrade that separates competitive RC racers from casual bashers. Whether you're fine-tuning your Corally Asuga XLR 6S for maximum performance or simply maintaining your RC vehicle with OEM-standard components, these Swiss spring steel turnbuckles deliver the durability and adjustability that modern RC car UK owners expect.

Manufactured by Team Corally, a brand synonymous with Swiss precision and attention to detail, these M5 turnbuckles are CNC-machined to exacting tolerances and finished with a hard anodised coating for superior corrosion resistance. The 70mm length makes them perfectly suited to the Asuga XLR 6S platform, whether you're running the RTR brushless version, the roller variant, or any of the colour options available (Green, Blue, or Red). For RC car enthusiasts who understand that suspension geometry is critical to handling performance, traction, and overall lap times, having quality turnbuckles available as spares is non-negotiable.

If you're building, maintaining, or upgrading an RC car in the UK, you understand that every component matters. These Corally turnbuckles aren't just replacement parts—they're precision tools designed to help you dial in your suspension setup with confidence. The two-piece pack ensures you have spares on hand, reducing downtime between sessions and keeping your RC car UK track-ready at all times.

Key Features

  • Swiss Spring Steel Construction — Manufactured from S2 springsteel, these turnbuckles offer superior strength and flexibility compared to standard steel, allowing them to withstand the demands of both competitive racing and recreational bashing without permanent deformation or failure.
  • CNC-Machined Precision — Every turnbuckle is produced using computer numerical control machining, ensuring consistent dimensions and perfect thread engagement, which translates directly to reliable suspension adjustments that stay locked in place during intense driving.
  • Hard Anodised Finish — The brown hard anodised coating provides exceptional corrosion resistance, protecting the steel substrate from moisture, dirt, and salt spray exposure, making these turnbuckles ideal for UK outdoor racing conditions and long-term storage.
  • M5 Thread Specification — The M5 thread size is specifically engineered for Corally suspension components, guaranteeing perfect compatibility and reliable thread engagement with no risk of cross-threading or stripping.
  • 70mm Length — This precise length is optimised for the Asuga XLR 6S suspension geometry, allowing proper suspension articulation and ensuring your RC car maintains the intended ride height and handling characteristics.
  • Two-Piece Pack — Receiving two turnbuckles means you have immediate backup parts available, reducing setup time between races and ensuring you can maintain consistent suspension geometry on both sides of your RC vehicle.
  • OEM Quality Component — As genuine Team Corally parts, these turnbuckles represent factory-standard quality, meaning they meet the same specifications and tolerances as components fitted to new RTR and race kit vehicles from the manufacturer.

Technical Performance

The Corally Turnbuckle M5 70mm represents the intersection of material science and precision engineering. Swiss spring steel (S2 grade) is specifically chosen for suspension components because it combines high tensile strength with elasticity—it can flex under suspension movement without permanent deformation, and it resists fatigue cracking that can occur with inferior materials over hundreds of suspension cycles. The CNC-machining process ensures that thread pitch is absolutely consistent across the entire 70mm length, which is critical because even small variations can cause suspension geometry to shift mid-race. The hard anodised finish isn't merely cosmetic; it's a functional engineering layer that creates a barrier against oxidation and corrosion, which would otherwise slowly degrade thread quality and eventually cause seized or stuck turnbuckles. For UK RC car owners who race outdoors in variable weather conditions or store vehicles in damp environments, this corrosion protection directly extends component lifespan. The brown colour of the anodised finish indicates this is a Type II hard anodised coating, the industry standard for high-performance RC components. These turnbuckles are tuning parts that allow precise suspension height and geometry adjustment—by threading them in or out, you can dial in camber angles, ride height, and anti-roll bar stiffness to match your specific driving style and track conditions. Whether you're preparing a brushless RC car UK setup for serious competition or maintaining your vehicle in pristine condition, quality turnbuckles are fundamental to suspension reliability.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is a turnbuckle and why do I need one for my RC car? — A turnbuckle is a threaded suspension component that connects your RC car's suspension arms to the chassis. By rotating the central barrel, you can lengthen or shorten the turnbuckle to adjust suspension geometry, ride height, and handling characteristics. Quality turnbuckles like these Corally components are essential because they allow precise tuning and they must withstand constant flexing and impact forces without failing or loosening.
  • Are these genuine Team Corally parts? — Yes, these are authentic Team Corally components manufactured to the same specifications as components fitted to factory-built Corally vehicles. The part number C-00180-892 and EAN barcode 8718057222215 can be verified with the manufacturer, confirming genuine product authenticity.
  • Will these fit my specific Asuga model? — These M5 70mm turnbuckles are specifically designed for the Corally Asuga XLR 6S platform in all its variants—RTR brushless models and roller versions, regardless of colour (Green, Blue, or Red). If you own any other RC car model, you'll need to verify compatibility with the manufacturer or retailer before purchasing.
  • What makes Swiss spring steel better than regular steel? — S2 springsteel is engineered with specific alloy content and heat treatment to provide superior elasticity and fatigue resistance. Where regular steel might develop cracks or permanently bend under repeated suspension movement, Swiss spring steel returns to its original shape and maintains structural integrity over thousands of suspension cycles, making it the material choice for competitive RC racing.
  • How often should I replace my turnbuckles? — With proper maintenance and moderate use, quality turnbuckles like these Corally components can last for years. However, if you notice thread stripping, corrosion, or permanent bending, replacement is necessary to maintain suspension reliability. Keeping spare turnbuckles on hand ensures you can continue racing without downtime.
  • Why is the hard anodised finish important? — The hard anodised coating protects the underlying spring steel from oxidation and corrosion, which would otherwise gradually weaken the material and cause threads to seize. This is particularly important for UK RC car owners who race outdoors in damp conditions or store vehicles in variable humidity, as unprotected steel would quickly develop surface rust that compromises thread quality.
  • Can I use these on other Corally vehicles? — Turnbuckle compatibility depends on the specific vehicle model and suspension design. While other Corally RC cars may use M5 threaded suspension components, they might require different lengths. Always verify the correct part number for your specific model before purchasing.
