The Corally Shock Body Rear Aluminium Hard Anodised is a precision-engineered suspension component designed for serious RC enthusiasts who demand quality and reliability from their RC car UK setups. This single-piece rear shock body is manufactured from premium 6061-T6 aluminium and finished with hard anodising for exceptional durability and corrosion resistance. Whether you're running a ready to run RC car or building a competition-grade machine, this replacement shock body ensures your suspension performs at its peak, delivering consistent handling and responsive feedback on any terrain.

Built to exacting standards by Team Corally, this shock absorber component is compatible with an impressive range of Corally RC models, making it an essential spare part for the dedicated RC hobbyist. The hard anodised gun metal finish not only looks professional but also provides superior protection against the wear and tear that comes with regular bashing, track racing, and outdoor adventures. RC enthusiasts across the UK trust Corally components for their engineering excellence and longevity.

This is a genuine OEM spare part for Corally vehicles, and having quality replacement components on hand ensures your RC car stays in top condition. Whether you've damaged your existing shock body or are building a spare set of shocks for competition use, this rear shock body is an investment in maintaining your vehicle's suspension performance.

Key Features

  • Premium 6061-T6 Aluminium Construction — Crafted from aerospace-grade 6061-T6 aluminium, this shock body offers an exceptional strength-to-weight ratio that ensures your RC car maintains optimal performance whilst keeping suspension mass to a minimum, which directly improves handling and reduces unsprung weight.
  • Hard Anodised Finish — The hard anodising process creates a protective oxide layer that resists corrosion, scratches, and wear, ensuring this component maintains its appearance and structural integrity even after extended use in harsh outdoor conditions or wet environments.
  • Gun Metal Colour — The distinctive gun metal finish provides a professional appearance whilst offering superior visibility during operation, making it easier to spot your vehicle during high-speed runs and helping you maintain visual contact during races.
  • CNC-Machined Precision — Every shock body is produced using advanced CNC machining techniques, guaranteeing tight tolerances and consistent quality across every unit, which is essential for predictable suspension behaviour and reliable performance.
  • Wide Model Compatibility — This single shock body fits an extensive range of Team Corally RC cars including the Kagama, Kronos, Muraco, Shogun, Python, Dementor, Jambo, Radix, Asuga, and Sketer models across multiple year variants, making it a versatile spare part for any Corally collection.
  • Genuine OEM Component — As an official Team Corally part, you're guaranteed authentic quality and perfect fitment with your vehicle, ensuring optimal suspension geometry and performance characteristics.

Technical Performance

This rear shock body represents the core structural component of Corally's suspension system, and its engineering is critical to vehicle dynamics. Machined from 6061-T6 aluminium alloy, this material provides the perfect balance between strength and weight, which is absolutely crucial in modern RC racing and high-performance bashing. The hard anodising treatment goes beyond aesthetics—it creates a wear-resistant surface that prevents galling and seizing during repeated compression cycles, which is essential for maintaining consistent damping characteristics over time. The CNC-machining process ensures that each shock body maintains precise dimensional accuracy, with a length of 59.50mm and thickness of 16.00mm, guaranteeing that your suspension geometry remains true. These specifications are critical because even minor variations in shock body dimensions can affect suspension compliance, ride height, and overall handling balance of your RC car. The gun metal colour finish provides excellent contrast against dirt and mud, improving your ability to spot any damage during post-run inspections. This component is designed to work with Corally's range of dampers and springs, and its precise engineering ensures that shock valving and oil flow characteristics remain optimal, whether you're running 600cps shock oil or experimenting with different viscosities for track tuning.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which Corally RC cars is this shock body compatible with? — This rear shock body is designed to fit an extensive range of Team Corally models including the Kagama XP, Kronos, Kronos XTR, Muraco, Shogun, Python, Dementor, Jambo, Radix, Asuga XLR, and Sketer across 2020, 2021, and 2022 model variants. You can verify compatibility by checking your vehicle's model code against the manufacturer's compatibility list, which includes models such as C-00274 (Kagama), C-00273 and C-00272-R (Kronos variants), C-00176 and C-00176-R (Muraco), and many others.
  • Why should I choose an aluminium shock body over other materials? — Aluminium shock bodies like this one offer superior heat dissipation compared to plastic alternatives, which is important because modern shock oils can heat up during intense running sessions, and aluminium helps maintain consistent damping characteristics by preventing excessive oil temperature rise. Additionally, aluminium is more durable for competitive use and provides better long-term value despite the higher initial cost.
  • Is this a complete shock absorber or just the body? — This is the shock body only—it's the aluminium outer housing component. To create a complete shock absorber, you'll need to assemble this body with shock pistons, springs, and damper oil (typically 600cps for standard setups). Many UK RC enthusiasts purchase replacement shock bodies when their original gets bent or damaged during crashes, rather than buying an entirely new assembled shock.
  • How does hard anodising improve durability? — Hard anodising creates a thick, protective oxide layer on the aluminium surface that's significantly harder than standard anodising. This makes the shock body resistant to corrosion from salt water and wet conditions, prevents the surface from being scratched during assembly and disassembly, and reduces the likelihood of galling (metal sticking to metal) when the piston rod moves inside the body, which would cause inconsistent damping and poor handling.
  • Can I use this shock body with different viscosity oils? — Yes, this shock body is designed to work with various damper oil viscosities. The standard setup uses 600cps oil, but you can experiment with lighter oils (like 500cps) for softer suspension and faster bump compliance, or heavier oils (like 700cps or 800cps) for stiffer damping and more control. The precision machining ensures consistent performance regardless of which oil viscosity you choose for your specific track conditions or terrain.
  • What does CNC-machined mean and why does it matter? — CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining uses automated computer-controlled machines to cut and shape the aluminium with extreme precision. This ensures that every shock body produced is virtually identical to the others, maintaining tight tolerances on dimensions like the bore diameter and piston rod clearance. This precision is critical because even tiny variations in the bore size can affect how smoothly the piston moves through the oil and change the damping characteristics, potentially making your RC car handle inconsistently.
  • Is this suitable as a spare part if I'm new to RC? — Whilst this is a genuine spare part, if you're new to RC, you might find it easier to purchase a ready-assembled shock absorber rather than a body-only component. However, if you've already damaged your shock body or you're learning about RC maintenance and suspension tuning, having a replacement body on hand is smart planning and can save you money compared to replacing the entire shock unit.
