Overview
The ARRMA 23T 0.8Mod 1/8 inch Bore CNC Steel Pinion Gear is a precision-engineered component designed for RC enthusiasts who demand reliability and performance in their 1/8 scale builds. Whether you're running a competitive RC buggy, truggy, or monster truck, this OEM ARRMA pinion gear delivers the consistent mesh, durability and power transfer that serious bashers and racers expect. ARRMA is recognised worldwide for producing high-quality RC cars and components, and this pinion gear exemplifies their commitment to engineering excellence. If you're upgrading your RC car UK setup or need a replacement pinion for your existing ARRMA model, this CNC steel component is built to withstand the demands of aggressive driving and frequent use.
Pinion gears are critical drivetrain components that transfer power from your motor to the spur gear and ultimately to your wheels. A high-quality pinion gear ensures smooth acceleration, consistent power delivery, and longevity of your entire drivetrain system. This 23T gear has been engineered by ARRMA with precision manufacturing techniques to guarantee exact tooth profiles and bore specifications, meaning your RC car will perform at its best whether you're bashing on the track or competing in races. The 1/8 inch bore specification (3.2mm) is standard for ARRMA's popular 1/8 scale vehicles, making this a direct fit for numerous models in their range.
RC enthusiasts across the UK trust ARRMA components for their proven reliability and performance. This pinion gear represents genuine OEM quality at a competitive price, giving you peace of mind that you're investing in a component that will deliver years of reliable service. Whether you're replacing a worn gear or building a fresh 1/8 scale RC car from scratch, this CNC steel pinion is an essential part of your setup.
Key Features
- 23 Teeth Configuration — This tooth count is specifically selected to provide the optimal balance between acceleration and top speed in 1/8 scale RC vehicles, ensuring your car responds instantly off the line whilst maintaining strong drivability across all terrain types.
- 0.8 Modulus Steel Gear — The 0.8 mod specification indicates the gear's pitch and tooth size, engineered to mesh perfectly with ARRMA spur gears and designed to distribute power smoothly across the drivetrain without loss or grinding.
- CNC Steel Construction — Computer numerical control manufacturing ensures every tooth is precisely machined to exact specifications, guaranteeing consistent performance, reduced wear, and extended component lifespan compared to lower-quality alternatives.
- 1/8 Inch Bore (3.2mm) — The precisely dimensioned bore fits snugly onto standard ARRMA motor shafts, ensuring zero play and maximum power transfer efficiency with no slipping or binding during aggressive driving.
- OEM ARRMA Component — As an official ARRMA part, this pinion gear is manufactured to the same exacting standards used in ARRMA's award-winning RC cars, guaranteeing compatibility and performance with your existing setup.
- Durable Steel Material — Steel construction provides superior wear resistance and strength compared to plastic or aluminium alternatives, making this pinion capable of handling high-torque motors and extreme driving conditions.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA 23T pinion gear represents precision engineering at its finest. Manufactured using CNC machining processes, every tooth profile is cut to exact tolerances, ensuring a smooth and consistent mesh with your spur gear throughout the entire drivetrain. The 0.8 modulus specification is a standard measurement in RC gearbox design, indicating the gear's pitch diameter and tooth geometry — this ensures perfect compatibility with ARRMA's spur gears and motor arrangements. The steel construction provides exceptional durability under load, making this pinion suitable for high-power brushless motors common in modern 1/8 scale RC cars. The 3.2mm bore diameter is precision-sized to fit standard ARRMA motor shafts without play, ensuring maximum efficiency in power transfer from your motor to the wheels. Whether you're running a brushless 1/8 scale monster truck, buggy, or off-road vehicle, this pinion gear will maintain consistent performance through countless drives, races, and bashing sessions. The OEM ARRMA specification ensures this component integrates seamlessly with your RC car's existing drivetrain architecture, delivering the reliability and performance you expect from a leading manufacturer.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What ARRMA RC cars is this pinion gear compatible with? — This 23T 0.8Mod pinion gear with 3.2mm bore is designed for ARRMA 1/8 scale vehicles that use standard motor shafts and 0.8 modulus spur gears. Check your vehicle's manual or specifications to confirm compatibility before purchasing, as ARRMA produces several different drivetrain configurations across their 1/8 scale range.
- What is the difference between 0.8 modulus and other gear specifications? — The modulus number indicates the gear's pitch and tooth size; 0.8 modulus gears have smaller teeth than 1.0 modulus gears, allowing more teeth to fit on the same diameter. This affects acceleration, top speed, and motor load — 0.8 mod is standard for many ARRMA models and delivers a good balance of performance.
- Is this pinion gear suitable for beginners? — Whilst this is a high-quality component, pinion gear replacement requires basic mechanical knowledge and tools. Beginners are welcome to tackle this job with care, but may benefit from watching installation guides or consulting experienced RC enthusiasts at RC hobby shops in the UK before attempting the replacement themselves.
- Why would I need to replace my pinion gear? — Over time and with heavy use, pinion gears can wear, crack, or develop tooth damage, particularly if your RC car is driven at high speeds or in sandy/dusty conditions. Replacing a damaged pinion with this OEM ARRMA component restores your drivetrain to factory specifications and ensures optimal performance.
- Does this come with any tools or installation instructions? — The pinion gear itself is included; installation typically requires a hex key or Allen wrench to remove your existing pinion and fit the new one. Detailed installation instructions are usually found in your vehicle's manual or ARRMA's official support resources online.
