Overview

The Team Associated TC7 Shock Shafts (AS31688) are precision-engineered replacement components designed specifically for the Team Associated TC7 racing buggy. Whether you're a competitive racer looking to maintain your RC car UK setup, or an experienced hobbyist who demands the highest performance from their equipment, these shock shafts are essential consumables that ensure your suspension system operates at peak efficiency. The TC7 is renowned in the RC racing community as a competition-grade 1/10 scale buggy, and these shock shafts are manufactured to the exacting standards required for Factory Team performance.

These shock shafts are part of Team Associated's premium FOX shock system, which has been specifically developed for the TC7 kit. The shafts work in conjunction with genuine Kashima-coated shock bodies to deliver smooth, responsive suspension geometry that's critical for competitive racing. When you're competing at the highest levels or simply want your RC buggy UK to perform flawlessly, maintaining your shock components with genuine Factory Team parts is a non-negotiable investment in reliability and consistency.

The AS31688 package includes everything you need to service or replace worn shock shafts on your TC7, making it an indispensable part of any serious racer's spares box. These components are manufactured to the same precision tolerances as the original equipment, ensuring perfect compatibility and performance with your existing TC7 suspension system.

Key Features

  • Factory Team Specification — Manufactured to the exact same standards as the components found in Team Associated's Factory Team TC7 kits, ensuring that your RC car UK maintains competition-grade performance and reliability at all times.
  • Complete Shaft Assembly — Each package includes shock shafts, screws, and washers, providing all the fastening components needed for a complete shock assembly or replacement, eliminating the need to source multiple parts separately.
  • Compatible with FOX Shock Bodies — Specifically designed to work with the FT FOX Shock Bodies featuring genuine Kashima coating and threaded design, ensuring seamless integration with your TC7's suspension system.
  • Precision Engineering — Every shaft is manufactured to exact tolerances that guarantee smooth operation within the shock body and consistent damping characteristics across your entire suspension setup.
  • Dual Quantity Supply — The package includes two complete shock shaft assemblies, providing components for both front and rear shock maintenance, or allowing you to keep spares on hand for racing weekends.
  • OEM Quality Assurance — As a genuine Team Associated part, these shafts undergo rigorous quality control testing to ensure they meet the demanding requirements of competitive off-road racing in the RC buggy UK market.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated TC7 Shock Shafts represent the pinnacle of precision manufacturing in RC suspension components. Engineered specifically for use with the FOX shock system, these shafts are constructed from hardened steel to withstand the intense forces and repeated cycling that occur during high-speed RC racing. The shafts interface directly with the shock piston assembly and must maintain absolutely precise dimensions to ensure consistent damping curves and suspension performance. Every component in this package – the shafts themselves, the precision screws, and the washers – has been engineered to work together as a complete system. The Kashima coating on the compatible shock bodies (sold separately as part 31687) provides a hard, low-friction surface that allows these shafts to glide smoothly through the damping circuit with minimal resistance, translating to more responsive and predictable handling on the track. For anyone running a TC7 at the competitive level or simply wanting to maintain their RC buggy UK to factory specifications, these shafts are essential components that directly influence lap times and overall reliability.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are these shock shafts compatible with my Team Associated TC7? — Yes, these shafts are specifically engineered for the TC7 and are fully compatible with the FOX Shock Bodies featuring genuine Kashima coating and threaded design (part 31687). They will not work with earlier shock body versions, so verify your shock assembly before ordering.
  • What makes Factory Team shock shafts different from standard components? — Factory Team parts like these AS31688 shafts are manufactured to tighter tolerances and undergo more rigorous quality control testing than standard components. This translates to more consistent performance, better durability, and superior handling characteristics in competitive racing applications.
  • How often should I replace my TC7 shock shafts? — Shock shafts are considered consumable components that should be inspected regularly, especially if you race frequently. Signs of wear, scoring, or reduced damping performance indicate it's time to replace your shafts. Regular maintenance and replacement ensure your RC buggy UK continues to perform at peak efficiency.
  • Do I need to replace both front and rear shafts at the same time? — For optimal suspension balance and handling consistency, it's recommended to replace shock shafts in matched pairs. This package includes two complete assemblies, making it perfect for a full suspension refresh on your TC7.
  • What tools do I need to install these shock shafts? — Installation requires basic RC tools including appropriate hex keys for the fastening screws and a vice or shock stand to hold the shock body steady during assembly. Detailed assembly instructions can be found in your TC7 manual or on the Team Associated website.
  • Are these shafts suitable for beginners? — These are Factory Team competition-grade components best suited to experienced RC enthusiasts and racers who are familiar with advanced suspension setup and maintenance. If you're new to RC cars UK, we recommend starting with standard components and learning proper shock service techniques before upgrading to Factory Team parts.
