Overview

The Team Associated LP Prog. Springs Gr Ay 14.1–16.5 lb/in (AS32056) represent a premium suspension tuning component designed for serious RC enthusiasts who demand precision handling and setup flexibility. These progressive springs are engineered to deliver consistent performance characteristics across a range of track conditions, making them an essential upgrade for anyone running an RC car UK setup that requires fine-tuned suspension geometry. Whether you're competing in time trials, weekend bashing, or simply perfecting your vehicle's handling characteristics, these Team Associated springs provide the foundation for responsive, predictable chassis behaviour that translates directly into better control and faster lap times.

Progressive spring technology means the spring rate increases as the spring compresses, providing a softer initial response with progressive stiffening as suspension travel increases. This design philosophy is particularly valued in competitive RC racing circles, where the ability to dial in precise handling characteristics can make the difference between victory and defeat. The clearly marked identification (L17 4.5T 1.) ensures you can easily track spring rates during setup changes and maintain consistency across multiple vehicles or configuration experiments. For RC car enthusiasts in the UK seeking to upgrade their suspension tuning arsenal, these genuine Team Associated springs deliver the quality and performance you'd expect from one of the hobby's most respected manufacturers.

These springs are suited to users who require the specified 14.1–16.5 lb/in spring rate range and appreciate the ability to fine-tune their RC handling characteristics with genuine OEM Team Associated components. The clear designation helps with selecting and tracking spring rates during setup changes, supporting consistent RC handling characteristics when tuning your vehicle for different track conditions or driving styles.

Key Features

  • Progressive Spring Rate Design — The 14.1–16.5 lb/in rating provides a softer initial spring response with progressive stiffening as suspension travel increases, allowing drivers to tune their RC car's handling characteristics precisely for different track conditions and driving styles. This progressive technology is highly valued in competitive racing setups where suspension tuning makes a measurable difference in lap times.
  • Clearly Marked Identification — Each spring is clearly labelled with the L17 4.5T 1. designation, making it simple to identify and track spring rates during setup changes. This identification system is essential when maintaining multiple RC vehicles or experimenting with different suspension configurations, as it ensures you're consistently using the correct spring rate for your desired handling characteristics.
  • Genuine Team Associated Manufacturing — These springs are authentic Team Associated components, manufactured to OEM specifications and quality standards. Using genuine factory parts ensures compatibility with your suspension system and delivers the consistent performance that serious RC enthusiasts expect from established brands with proven track records in competitive racing.
  • Precision Spring Rate Range — The specific 14.1–16.5 lb/in rating provides a defined operating window that suits vehicles requiring moderate spring rates for balanced handling. This range is suitable for a variety of chassis setups and track conditions, making these springs versatile components for RC car UK enthusiasts experimenting with different suspension geometries.
  • Suspension Tuning Component — These springs form a critical part of your RC vehicle's suspension system, directly affecting ride height, handling response, and overall chassis stability. Proper spring selection and setup is fundamental to achieving competitive lap times and maintaining consistent driving performance across multiple runs.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated LP Prog. Springs represent precision engineering in suspension component design, delivering the consistent performance characteristics that serious RC car racers demand. Built to exacting Team Associated specifications, these progressive springs feature the specified 14.1–16.5 lb/in rate range, clearly marked with the L17 4.5T 1. designation for easy identification and tracking during your setup experiments. Progressive spring technology provides a more refined suspension response compared to linear springs, offering softer initial compliance that gradually stiffens as the spring compresses further into its travel range. This characteristic makes progressive springs particularly valuable for RC enthusiasts who want to fine-tune their vehicle's handling response across different track conditions—softer for smooth traction on high-grip surfaces, yet progressive stiffening to maintain support during aggressive driving or rough terrain. The springs are manufactured from high-quality steel and engineered to maintain consistent performance characteristics across numerous cycles, ensuring reliability during competitive racing events or casual weekend bashing sessions. These components integrate seamlessly into Team Associated chassis setups, delivering the handling precision that enthusiasts expect when upgrading their suspension system with genuine OEM parts. For drivers serious about optimising their RC car UK setup, selecting the correct spring rate is a fundamental step that directly influences chassis behaviour, traction characteristics, and overall competitiveness on the track.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does the spring rate 14.1–16.5 lb/in mean and which RC cars is it suitable for? — The spring rate indicates how much force is required to compress the spring by one inch. A 14.1–16.5 lb/in rating is considered a moderate spring rate suitable for a variety of RC vehicle types and track conditions. This range provides balanced handling characteristics for both competitive racing and recreational driving. To determine if these springs are right for your specific RC car setup, you should consult your vehicle's manual or contact our expert team who can recommend the correct spring rate for your chassis model and driving style.
  • What is the L17 4.5T 1. marking and why is it important? — The L17 4.5T 1. designation is Team Associated's identification system that clearly marks the spring specifications. This marking helps you easily identify and track different spring rates when you're experimenting with multiple suspension configurations or managing several RC vehicles. The clear designation is essential for maintaining accurate setup records and ensuring consistency when you return to previously tested configurations.
  • Are these progressive springs or linear springs? — These are progressive springs, meaning the spring rate increases as the spring compresses further into its travel range. Progressive springs provide a softer initial response for improved traction on smooth surfaces, whilst the progressive stiffening provides support during aggressive driving or on rough terrain. This makes them more versatile than linear springs for drivers who want to tune their RC car's handling across varying track conditions.
  • How do I know if these are the correct springs for my Team Associated RC car? — Team Associated manufactures springs in a range of different rates to suit various chassis models and driving preferences. To ensure these 14.1–16.5 lb/in springs are the right choice for your vehicle, consult your RC car's manual for the recommended spring rate, or contact our expert team at RC Model Shop. Our experienced RC enthusiasts can advise you on spring selection and help you optimise your suspension setup.
  • Can I use these springs on other RC car brands or am I limited to Team Associated vehicles? — Whilst these springs are manufactured by Team Associated, suspension compatibility depends on your specific vehicle's design and shock mount specifications. Some springs may fit other chassis models if they feature compatible shock tower geometry, but we recommend verifying compatibility with your vehicle's manual or contacting our team to avoid compatibility issues. Using the correct OEM components for your RC car ensures optimal performance and reliability.
  • What is the difference between progressive springs and other spring types? — Progressive springs feature a spring rate that increases as compression increases, providing initial softness with gradual stiffening through the suspension travel range. This contrasts with linear springs, which maintain a consistent rate throughout compression, and dual-rate springs, which have two distinct rates. Progressive springs offer versatility for drivers experimenting with different handling characteristics and track conditions, making them popular in competitive RC racing.
