Overview
The RC Overhaul Hex Driver Tip Set 1.5/2/2.5/3mm (T-RCO-TL006) is an essential tool for any RC enthusiast in the UK who maintains their own models. Whether you're a seasoned competitor fine-tuning your RC car or buggy, a weekend basher keeping your truck in top condition, or someone just discovering the world of RC hobbies, this replacement tip set is the perfect solution for keeping your tools in working order. Quality hex drivers are absolutely fundamental to RC maintenance — they're used constantly for adjusting suspension, removing body panels, and working on countless other components across all types of RC vehicles from scale crawlers to high-speed buggies and monster trucks.
Hex drivers are among the most frequently used tools in any RC model shop workbench, and unfortunately they're also among the most prone to wear and damage. Whether through regular use, accidental dropping, or simply snapping under load whilst working on stubborn fasteners, worn or broken hex tips compromise your ability to work efficiently and can actually damage the hex sockets on your RC car parts, leading to stripped fasteners that become impossible to adjust. The RC Overhaul T-RCO-TL006 addresses this common problem by providing a complete set of four metric-sized replacement shafts that cover the most popular fastener sizes used in modern RC vehicles.
These aren't cheaply made throwaway tips — RC Overhaul have engineered these replacements with the same attention to quality and precision that serious RC enthusiasts expect. With proper replacement tips in your tool kit, you'll maintain accurate, clean engagement with fasteners, ensuring your RC car, buggy, or truck stays properly adjusted and performs at its best for every outing at the track or trail.
Key Features
- Four Popular Metric Sizes Included — This set contains 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm, and 3.0mm hex tips, covering the vast majority of fasteners found on modern RC vehicles in the UK market, from tiny suspension adjusters to larger bodywork mounting bolts.
- 100mm Overall Shaft Length — The full 100mm length of each replacement shaft provides excellent reach and leverage, allowing you to access fasteners in tight spaces on your RC model without compromising control or applying excessive force that could strip fasteners.
- 4mm Hex Section — Each tip features a 4mm hex length, which is the industry-standard engagement length that ensures consistent, reliable contact with fastener hex sockets and minimises the risk of the tip slipping or cam-ming out during use.
- Secure Fixing Flat Design — The fixing flat positioned exactly 10mm from the end of each shaft ensures secure retention in compatible hex driver handles, preventing tips from spinning loose during use and maintaining consistent torque application when adjusting critical components on your RC car or truck.
- High-Quality Construction — Built to withstand regular RC maintenance and general hobby use, these replacement shafts maintain their precision and durability through countless fastening operations, protecting both your tools and your valuable RC models from damage caused by poor-fitting tips.
- Simple and Reliable Refresh Solution — Replacing worn or snapped hex tools is infinitely more cost-effective than replacing an entire driver handle, making this set an economical choice for any RC enthusiast who prefers to maintain their own equipment rather than paying workshop rates.
Technical Performance
The RC Overhaul Hex Driver Tip Set represents a thoughtful approach to tool engineering for the RC hobby market. Each shaft measures exactly 100mm in length, providing adequate reach for working on most RC vehicle components whilst maintaining good ergonomic control. The 4mm hex length is the internationally recognised standard for RC tools, ensuring complete compatibility with the vast majority of RC fasteners regardless of manufacturer — whether you're working on Traxxas vehicles, ARRMA buggies, Losi competition machines, FTX crawlers, or any other major RC brand available in the UK. The fixing flat positioned 10mm from the end of each shaft creates a positive mechanical lock within compatible handle bodies, preventing tip rotation or slipping that could damage fasteners and making the tool feel secure and purposeful in hand. The materials and manufacturing processes employed by RC Overhaul ensure that these tips maintain their dimensional accuracy through extended use, delivering consistent engagement quality and contributing to the longevity of both your tools and your RC models' fasteners.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What hex driver sizes are included in this set? — This set includes four metric hex sizes: 1.5mm, 2.0mm, 2.5mm, and 3.0mm. These are the most commonly used fastener sizes on modern RC vehicles, covering everything from delicate suspension adjusters to larger mounting bolts found on bodies and chassis components across RC cars, buggies, trucks, and crawlers.
- Are these replacement tips compatible with my existing hex driver handle? — These tips are designed with industry-standard specifications — a 4mm hex section and a fixing flat positioned 10mm from the end — making them compatible with most quality hex driver handles. However, you should verify that your handle accepts 4mm hex tips before purchasing. If you're unsure, contact our team at RC Model Shop and we'll be happy to confirm compatibility with your specific handle.
- How long will these replacement tips last? — High-quality replacement tips like these typically last through hundreds of fastening operations when used correctly. Longevity depends on how frequently you adjust your RC models, the materials your fasteners are made from, and how carefully you apply torque. Avoid forcing tips into stripped or damaged fastener sockets, as this will accelerate wear. Most serious RC enthusiasts find that having spare tips on hand is simply good workshop practice.
- What is the difference between these replacement tips and a complete new hex driver? — Replacement tips offer significant cost savings compared to purchasing an entire new driver handle, making them an economical choice for maintaining your tool kit. They're perfect for keeping spare sizes accessible on your workbench without the expense of multiple complete handles. Simply swap the tip you need into your handle rather than storing separate tools.
- Are these suitable for professional RC competition use? — Yes, absolutely. These RC Overhaul replacement tips meet the quality standards expected by serious RC competitors in the UK who rely on precise tool engagement for making consistent suspension and mechanical adjustments between heats. Clean, accurate fastener engagement is especially important in competition where small adjustments can affect performance.
- Why should I replace a worn hex driver tip rather than just buying a new one? — Worn hex tips compromise your ability to work on your RC models effectively and can actually damage the hex sockets in your fasteners, creating stripped fasteners that are impossible to adjust properly. Investing in quality replacement tips ensures you maintain accurate engagement and protects your valuable RC vehicles from tool-related damage. Additionally, replacement tips are considerably more economical than replacing an entire driver handle.
