The 30C continuous discharge rating ensures this battery can deliver sustained, dependable power across a wide spectrum of RC applications, from competitive track racing to casual weekend bashing. If you're searching for a reliable 2S LiPo battery for your ready-to-run RC car or upgrading an existing setup, the Radient 2S 2200mAh 30C EC3 is engineered to deliver the performance you need with the reliability you can trust.
Key Features
- 2200mAh Capacity — This mid-range capacity strikes an excellent balance between runtime and overall weight, delivering sufficient energy for extended RC sessions whilst keeping your model nimble and responsive. The 2200mAh specification is widely recognised as the sweet spot for many RC applications, from touring cars to small-scale trucks and buggies.
- 2S Cell Configuration (7.4V Nominal) — The two-cell LiPo arrangement produces a nominal voltage of 7.4V, which is the industry standard for countless RC vehicle platforms. This voltage configuration is compatible with the overwhelming majority of modern brushless and brushed motors designed for 2S LiPo power, making this battery pack immediately usable in most UK RC setups.
- 30C Continuous Discharge Rating — A 30C discharge rate means this battery can safely deliver 66 amps of continuous current (calculated as 2.2Ah × 30C), providing more than adequate power for spirited driving whilst maintaining electrical stability. This rating strikes a sensible balance between high-performance delivery and longevity, ensuring your battery remains cool and responsive throughout extended use.
- EC3 Connector — The EC3 connector has become the de facto standard in the RC hobby, offering robust, reliable power transfer with minimal voltage drop. This connector format ensures seamless compatibility with the vast majority of modern RC chargers, ESCs, and vehicle harnesses available throughout the UK.
- Compact, Lightweight Design — Weighing just 121 grams and occupying a footprint of merely 108 x 34 x 16 millimetres, this Radient battery refuses to compromise on power despite its diminutive dimensions. This makes it ideal for RC vehicles where weight distribution and centre of gravity matter, or for tight battery compartments where standard-sized packs simply won't fit.
- Soft Case Protection — The battery arrives in a protective soft case, safeguarding the cells and connectors during storage, transport, and use. This padding helps prevent accidental damage, short circuits, and wear on the connector contacts, extending the operational lifespan of your investment.
- Age Recommendation 14+ — This battery pack is recommended for users aged 14 years and above, reflecting both the electrical characteristics and the responsibility required for safe LiPo handling, storage, and charging. Adult supervision is always recommended when younger users are involved with LiPo batteries.
Technical Performance
The Radient LiPo 2S 2200mAh 7.4V 30C EC3 battery pack represents a mature engineering solution for RC applications that demand reliable, predictable power delivery. The 2S LiPo chemistry has become the backbone of the RC hobby worldwide, prized for its excellent energy density, lightweight construction, and ability to deliver sustained high currents without significant voltage sag. At 2200mAh capacity, this pack sits comfortably in the mainstream of RC battery specifications, offering what experienced builders and drivers consider an optimal equilibrium between playtime and weight penalty. The 30C discharge rating is particularly significant: it indicates this battery can discharge at 30 times its capacity per hour, translating to approximately 66 amps of continuous output. This specification is more than adequate for the majority of RC car, truck, and buggy applications, including high-performance builds utilising brushless motors rated between 3000-4000KV. The EC3 connector uses a three-pin design that minimises resistance and connection loss, delivering the full available voltage to your ESC without the parasitic voltage losses associated with inferior connector designs. The soft case surrounding the cells provides insulation against external shorts and physical damage, whilst also facilitating safer storage and transport when not in active use. Radient's manufacturing reputation is built on consistent quality control and rigorous testing protocols, ensuring each pack meets its specified performance characteristics and maintains those characteristics throughout its service life. The compact dimensions make this battery particularly valuable for scale models, trucks with limited battery compartments, or any application where weight forward in the chassis would negatively impact handling characteristics.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Radient 2S 2200mAh 30C EC3 suitable for RC car beginners in the UK? — Yes, absolutely. This battery pack is ideal for newcomers to the RC car hobby. The 2S LiPo chemistry and 30C discharge rating are forgiving enough for learning purposes, whilst the 2200mAh capacity provides respectable runtime without demanding advanced charging knowledge. The EC3 connector is the most common standard, meaning compatibility with entry-level and mid-range ready-to-run RC cars is virtually assured. Always follow proper LiPo charging and storage procedures as outlined in your specific charger and vehicle documentation.
- What vehicles will this battery work in? — The Radient 2S 2200mAh 30C EC3 battery is compatible with any RC vehicle designed to accept a 2S LiPo pack with an EC3 connector. This encompasses countless platforms including RC touring cars, rally cars, short-course trucks, buggies, crawlers, and monster trucks. Before purchasing, verify that your specific vehicle supports 2S LiPo chemistry and EC3 connectors; if your model uses a different connector (such as XT60 or T-plug), you can purchase an affordable connector adapter.
- How long will this battery last per charge in my RC car? — Runtime depends entirely on your specific vehicle's weight, motor type, KV rating, driving style, and terrain. Generally, a 2200mAh 2S pack in a typical RC touring car or buggy delivers between 10 and 20 minutes of active driving per full charge, with higher-powered brushless motors consuming capacity more rapidly than brushed equivalents. Conservative driving and lighter vehicles typically yield extended runtimes.
- What does the 30C rating actually mean? — The 30C rating indicates the battery's maximum continuous discharge rate expressed as a multiplier of its capacity. With a 2200mAh (2.2Ah) capacity, the 30C rating means this battery can safely deliver up to 66 amps continuously without thermal or electrical damage. For virtually all RC car applications, 30C discharge is more than sufficient, providing ample power for spirited acceleration and sustained high-speed running.
- Is this battery suitable for racing? — The Radient 2S 2200mAh 30C EC3 is perfectly adequate for recreational racing and club-level competition. The 30C discharge rating provides the current delivery necessary for competitive performance, whilst the 2200mAh capacity offers sufficient runtime for typical race heats. For professional competition at the highest levels, drivers may opt for higher-capacity or higher-discharge-rated packs, but for the vast majority of UK RC racing participants, this battery delivers genuine competitive capability.
- How should I charge and store this Radient LiPo battery? — Always use a charger specifically designed for LiPo batteries with appropriate 2S settings. Charge at a 1C rate (approximately 2.2 amps) for optimal cell health and longevity, though faster charging at up to 5C is generally acceptable. Never charge unattended, and always ensure proper ventilation around the battery during charging. For storage, allow the battery to cool to room temperature after use, then charge to approximately 3.85V per cell (7.7V total) if storing for extended periods. Store in a cool, dry location away from heat sources, direct sunlight, and metal objects that could cause accidental shorts.
- What is the difference between this 30C battery and higher C-rated alternatives? — The 30C rating represents the continuous discharge capability, with higher C ratings (such as 50C or 100C) enabling greater peak current delivery. For most RC car applications, 30C is entirely sufficient and actually preferable because it typically indicates a more stable, longer-lasting cell chemistry compared to ultra-high-discharge alternatives. Choose 30C unless your specific motor and driving style demands the additional peak power of higher C ratings.
