Key Features
- Progressive-Rate Design — These springs are engineered with a progressive rate that provides responsive control for small bumps whilst progressively stiffening to absorb harder impacts, giving your RC vehicle excellent handling across a range of driving conditions from gentle cruising to aggressive bashing.
- 1.146-Rate Spring Constant — The specific spring rate is colour-coded with a green stripe for easy identification, allowing you to quickly match springs to your setup and compare rates when tuning your suspension system.
- 139mm Length — Specifically designed for GTR shock absorbers, these springs deliver optimal compression and extension characteristics that work in perfect harmony with your vehicle's suspension geometry.
- Natural Finish — The bare metal finish not only provides a clean, professional appearance but also allows you to see the spring construction clearly, making maintenance and inspection straightforward.
- Sold in Pairs — Two springs per package means you have everything needed for one complete shock upgrade, with matching rate consistency across both sides of your RC car's suspension.
- Suspension Tuning Flexibility — GTR springs are offered in multiple rates, allowing you to compensate for lighter or heavier vehicle configurations, fine-tune your suspension for specific driving conditions, or adjust responsiveness to match your driving style.
- Custom-Wound Quality — Each spring is custom-wound to Traxxas specifications, ensuring consistent performance and reliability that you can count on lap after lap, whether on track or off-road.
Technical Performance
The Traxxas GTR springs represent precision suspension engineering designed to meet the demanding requirements of serious RC car enthusiasts across the UK. These 139mm progressive-rate springs are manufactured with careful attention to detail, using high-quality materials selected for consistent performance and longevity. The 1.146 spring rate provides an optimal balance between suspension sensitivity and load capacity, making these springs suitable for a wide range of vehicle weights and driving styles. The progressive-rate design means the spring starts with a softer initial rate for small bumps, providing excellent bump absorption and traction over rippled surfaces, whilst progressively stiffening as the suspension compresses further, preventing bottoming out during hard impacts and maintaining control during aggressive driving. This engineering approach is fundamental to modern RC suspension design and reflects Traxxas's commitment to delivering vehicles and components that perform at the highest level. The natural finish allows the springs to be used immediately upon receipt and provides excellent visibility for inspection and maintenance throughout their service life.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a progressive-rate spring and why is it better for RC cars? — A progressive-rate spring starts with a softer rate, providing excellent sensitivity and compliance over small bumps, but progressively stiffens as it compresses further. This design delivers responsive handling for everyday driving whilst preventing suspension bottoming during hard impacts, making your RC car more predictable and easier to control across varying terrain.
- How do I know which spring rate I need for my RC car? — Spring rate is selected based on your vehicle's weight, driving style, and track conditions. Higher rates are firmer and suit heavier vehicles or aggressive driving, whilst lower rates are softer and better for lighter vehicles or sensitive handling. The 1.146 rate in this package is a popular general-purpose rate suitable for many standard RC vehicles. Consult your vehicle's manual or contact RC specialists for specific recommendations for your model.
- Are these springs compatible with my Traxxas vehicle? — These springs are specifically designed for GTR shock absorbers with a 139mm length. They are compatible with many Traxxas models including the Slash, Stampede, Rustler, Bandit and similar vehicles that use GTR shocks. Always verify your vehicle uses 139mm GTR shocks before purchasing to ensure proper fit and performance.
- What is the difference between spring rates and how do I choose the right one? — Traxxas offers GTR springs in multiple rates, each colour-coded for easy identification. Higher rates (stiffer springs) are numbered with higher values and suit heavier vehicles, whilst lower rates (softer springs) provide more compliance. The green stripe on this 1.146-rate spring makes it easy to identify. Experimenting with different rates is how serious RC racers fine-tune their suspension for specific conditions.
- How often should I replace my shock springs? — Quality springs like these Traxxas GTR springs typically last for hundreds of running hours with proper maintenance. Replace them if they lose their original shape, become visibly damaged, or if you notice your suspension no longer responds as it should. Regular inspection during maintenance checks will help you identify when replacement is necessary.
- Can I use these springs on different vehicles? — These springs are designed for 139mm GTR shocks, so they will work on any Traxxas vehicle (or compatible non-Traxxas vehicle) that uses this specific shock size. However, you should verify compatibility with your specific model to ensure proper fit and optimal performance.
