Technical Performance
The Traxxas Turnbuckles TRX5939 represent precision engineering in the suspension tuning category of RC car spares. At 72mm in length, these toe links are dimensioned to work with specific Traxxas chassis platforms where steering geometry and suspension alignment are critical to performance. The pre-assembled design with rod ends and hollow balls eliminates variables in assembly, ensuring consistent geometry every time you install them. Rod ends are the critical connector points where the turnbuckle interfaces with the suspension arms and steering linkage; Traxxas uses quality materials and manufacturing tolerances here to ensure smooth movement without slop or binding. The hollow ball design provides articulation while maintaining structural integrity, crucial when your RC car is cornering at speed or navigating rough terrain. Build quality is consistent with Traxxas's reputation for durability — these components are engineered to withstand the forces generated by high-performance RC driving, whether you're running on asphalt tracks, off-road courses, or mixed terrain. The threaded turnbuckle design allows for minor length adjustments to fine-tune toe-in angles, giving you setup flexibility once installed. For any RC car UK owner operating competitive models or pushing their vehicles hard during weekend bashing sessions, having quality replacement toe links in your spares box is essential maintenance practice.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What are toe links and why do I need them on my RC car? — Toe links (also called turnbuckles) are suspension components that connect your RC car's steering linkage to the suspension arms. They control the toe-in angle of your wheels, which directly affects steering response, tracking accuracy, and tyre wear patterns. Over time and through regular use, these components can wear, bend, or develop play, making replacement essential for maintaining your RC car's handling characteristics and performance on the track.
- Will the 72mm length fit my Traxxas RC model? — The 72mm specification is compatible with various Traxxas models, but we recommend checking your vehicle's manual or specification sheet to confirm compatibility before ordering. If you're unsure which size toe links your model requires, contact our team of experienced RC experts at RC Model Shop, and we'll help you identify the correct part for your specific vehicle.
- Do these turnbuckles require any assembly? — No, these toe links arrive pre-assembled with rod ends and hollow balls already fitted and ready to install, saving you time and ensuring consistent assembly quality straight out of the box.
- How often should I replace my RC car's toe links? — Replacement frequency depends on how heavily you use your RC vehicle. Casual bashers might replace them annually or less frequently, whilst competitive racers and high-use drivers should inspect them regularly for wear or bending and replace as needed to maintain optimal suspension geometry and handling.
- Can I adjust these turnbuckles for fine-tuning? — Yes, the threaded turnbuckle design allows for minor length adjustments to fine-tune toe-in angles once installed, providing setup flexibility to optimise your RC car's handling characteristics for different track conditions or driving styles.
- What's the difference between these 72mm toe links and other sizes available? — Different Traxxas models require different toe link lengths to achieve correct suspension geometry. The 72mm size is specific to certain chassis platforms; other models may require 61mm (TRX5938) or different specifications. Using the correct length for your model ensures proper handling and suspension performance.
