Overview

The Traxxas Turnbuckles, aluminium (Orange-anodised), toe links, 59mm represent a significant upgrade for any RC car enthusiast looking to enhance their model's suspension adjustability and overall strength. Whether you're a seasoned RC car UK competitor or a weekend basher, these lightweight aluminium toe links offer the perfect balance of performance and durability. These components are essential for fine-tuning your RC vehicle's handling characteristics, allowing you to adjust toe-in settings with precision and confidence.

Traxxas has engineered these toe links using high-grade 7075-T6 aluminium, a premium material choice that delivers superior strength whilst remaining significantly lighter than traditional steel turnbuckles. This weight reduction contributes to improved handling and responsiveness across a wide range of RC models. The brilliant orange anodised finish doesn't just look stunning on your RC car; it also provides corrosion resistance and protection against the elements, ensuring your investment remains in pristine condition through countless bashing sessions. For anyone serious about their ready to run RC vehicles or custom builds, upgrading to aluminium toe links is a recognised way to improve suspension performance.

These turnbuckles come fully assembled with rod ends and hollow balls, meaning you can install them straight out of the box without requiring additional assembly. The 59mm length makes them compatible with numerous Traxxas models, and the pre-assembled construction eliminates any guesswork during installation. This makes them an ideal upgrade for RC enthusiasts of all skill levels.

Key Features

  • High-Grade 7075-T6 Aluminium Construction — The use of high-grade 7075-T6 aluminium ensures exceptional strength whilst maintaining a lighter weight profile compared to steel alternatives, directly improving your RC car's performance and handling dynamics.
  • Orange Anodised Finish — The brilliant anodised coating provides both aesthetic appeal and practical protection against corrosion and oxidation, keeping your toe links looking fresh and functioning reliably for years to come.
  • 59mm Length — This specific dimension is designed to fit a wide range of Traxxas models, offering compatibility across multiple platforms so you can use these toe links on different vehicles in your RC collection.
  • Pre-Assembled with Rod Ends and Hollow Balls — Unlike some aftermarket toe link options, these arrive fully assembled with rod ends and hollow balls already installed, eliminating assembly complexity and getting you on the track or trail faster.
  • Enhanced Adjustability — Turnbuckle-style toe links allow for simple length adjustments, enabling you to dial in precise toe-in settings to fine-tune your RC vehicle's steering and handling characteristics for your preferred driving style.
  • 5mm Aluminium Wrench Compatibility — The turnbuckles are designed to work with the Traxxas 5mm aluminium wrench (#5477), which prevents marring or damaging the anodised finish during adjustment and maintenance.
  • Strength and Durability — Aluminium toe links add measurable strength to your RC model's suspension system, reducing flex and improving overall rigidity compared to plastic alternatives.

Technical Performance

The engineering behind these Traxxas toe links focuses on delivering a combination of lightweight construction and robust durability. The 7075-T6 aluminium alloy used throughout is recognised in the RC industry and aerospace applications for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. At 59mm in length, these turnbuckles are dimensionally optimised to provide appropriate geometry changes across Traxxas vehicles without introducing excessive bind or play in the suspension system. The hollow ball construction at each end allows for proper articulation whilst maintaining structural integrity, and the rod end design ensures smooth movement throughout the suspension's range of motion. By upgrading from steel turnbuckles to these lightweight aluminium alternatives, you're not simply reducing unsprung weight — you're also improving your model's overall balance and weight distribution, which translates to better handling, faster acceleration, and more predictable braking characteristics. The pre-assembled nature of these toe links means the rod ends and hollow balls are factory-set with optimal tension, ensuring consistent performance right out of the box. For RC car enthusiasts in the UK pursuing competitive racing or serious recreational bashing, the performance gains from upgrading to quality aluminium suspension components like these are immediately noticeable.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is the difference between aluminium and steel toe links for RC cars? — Steel turnbuckles, whilst durable, are heavier and can introduce additional unsprung weight to your suspension. Aluminium toe links like these are significantly lighter, which improves weight distribution and handling whilst maintaining excellent strength through the use of high-grade 7075-T6 aluminium. The lighter option is preferred by most serious RC enthusiasts for competitive and recreational use.
  • Do these toe links require assembly? — No, these Traxxas toe links come completely pre-assembled with rod ends and hollow balls already installed and properly tensioned. You simply need to remove them from the packaging and install them on your RC model using the appropriate 5mm aluminium wrench.
  • Will these fit my Traxxas RC model? — At 59mm in length, these toe links are compatible with numerous Traxxas models. The specific compatibility depends on your particular vehicle; we recommend checking your model's parts diagram or contacting our expert team at RC Model Shop to confirm compatibility with your specific RC car.
  • Why do I need the 5mm aluminium wrench for installation? — The Traxxas 5mm aluminium wrench (#5477) is specifically designed to adjust these turnbuckles without damaging or marring the brilliant orange anodised finish. Using inappropriate tools or standard steel wrenches can scratch and degrade the protective coating.
  • How often should I adjust my toe links? — Toe-in adjustments depend on your driving conditions, track layout, and personal driving preferences. Many RC enthusiasts adjust their toe settings before each race or major bashing session. The turnbuckle design of these toe links makes adjustments quick and straightforward once you have the proper 5mm wrench.
  • Are these suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. Whilst suspension tuning can be complex, the physical installation of these pre-assembled toe links is straightforward and accessible to RC enthusiasts of all skill levels. The pre-assembly means you don't need to worry about properly tensioning rod ends or installing balls — that's already done.
  • What makes 7075-T6 aluminium special? — 7075-T6 is a premium aluminium alloy renowned for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, making it ideal for high-performance RC applications. It offers superior rigidity compared to other aluminium grades whilst remaining lighter than steel, resulting in improved handling and responsiveness.
