Overview

The SPM Brushless Motor, 3226-930Kv 14-Pole M-SPMX-1080 is a high-performance brushless motor designed for RC enthusiasts looking to upgrade or build a competitive RC model. Manufactured by Spektrum, a recognised leader in RC electronics and power systems, this motor represents professional-grade engineering built to deliver consistent performance across a wide range of applications. Whether you're building a custom RC car, upgrading an existing platform, or looking for reliable brushless power for your next RC project in the UK, this motor offers the precision and reliability that serious hobbyists demand.

Brushless motors have become the standard choice for modern RC vehicles due to their superior efficiency, lower maintenance requirements, and exceptional power delivery compared to traditional brushed alternatives. The SPM Brushless Motor line represents years of Spektrum's expertise in RC propulsion systems, trusted by competitive racers and weekend bashers alike. The 930Kv rating positions this motor perfectly for medium to high-speed applications, making it versatile enough for various RC car configurations and scales. With its 14-pole design, this motor delivers smooth, responsive acceleration and reliable performance whether you're exploring technical courses or pushing for top speed on wide-open circuits.

This brushless motor is ideal for RC enthusiasts who understand the importance of quality components in their RC car UK builds. The precision engineering ensures compatibility with modern electronic speed controllers and lithium polymer battery systems that power today's fastest RC vehicles. If you're serious about your RC hobby and want components that won't let you down during critical moments in racing or bashing sessions, the SPM Brushless Motor deserves serious consideration.

Key Features

  • 930Kv Rating — The 930Kv specification means the motor will turn 930 revolutions per minute for every volt of input from your battery pack, making it ideal for medium to high-speed RC applications where balanced torque and speed characteristics are essential for responsive handling and acceleration.
  • 14-Pole Motor Design — This pole configuration is engineered to provide smooth power delivery and reduced vibration compared to lower pole count motors, resulting in better control, improved efficiency, and more predictable performance during competitive racing or casual driving sessions.
  • Brushless Technology — Unlike traditional brushed motors, brushless designs eliminate carbon brush friction and wear, requiring virtually no maintenance whilst delivering superior efficiency and consistent power output throughout the motor's lifespan, making this a more economical choice for frequent RC users.
  • SPM Spektrum Engineering — Built by Spektrum, a brand synonymous with quality RC electronics, this motor benefits from rigorous testing and manufacturing standards that ensure reliability and performance you can depend on, backed by the reputation of one of the hobby's most trusted names.
  • Versatile Application Range — The 930Kv rating and 14-pole construction make this motor suitable for various RC car configurations and scales, providing flexibility for custom builds and upgrades without requiring extensive modifications to existing platforms.

Technical Performance

The SPM Brushless Motor M-SPMX-1080 represents serious engineering for demanding RC applications. With its 930Kv rating and 14-pole design, this motor delivers the torque and speed characteristics necessary for competitive performance in modern RC car builds across the UK and beyond. The brushless architecture ensures that power is delivered efficiently to your propulsion system, minimising energy loss that occurs in brushed motors and translating more of your battery's energy into actual motion. This efficiency gain means longer running times on the same battery capacity, or alternatively, faster acceleration and higher top speeds when comparing equivalent battery setups between brushless and brushed alternatives. The precision manufacturing of Spektrum ensures tight tolerances and balanced rotor construction, critical factors that determine whether you experience smooth, vibration-free operation or frustrating vibration that can degrade handling and component longevity. The 14-pole configuration strikes an excellent balance between the extreme high-speed characteristics of lower pole motors and the extreme torque focus of higher pole motors, making this an exceptionally versatile choice for builders who want responsive acceleration without sacrificing top-end speed. When matched with appropriate electronic speed controllers and quality lithium polymer batteries, this motor delivers the kind of performance characteristics that have made brushless systems the default choice for serious RC car enthusiasts. Build quality is paramount in motor selection, and Spektrum's commitment to precision engineering ensures that bearing quality, winding consistency, and rotor balancing all meet professional standards.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What type of ESC does the SPM 930Kv brushless motor require? — This motor is designed to work with modern brushless electronic speed controllers. You'll need an ESC rated for your battery voltage (typically 2S to 6S LiPo or equivalent NiMH pack) with current handling sufficient for your application. The ESC must feature brushless motor capability and support the voltage and current requirements of your specific setup.
  • Is the SPM Brushless Motor suitable for beginners? — Whilst brushless motors offer excellent reliability and low maintenance compared to brushed alternatives, selecting the correct motor requires understanding your application, vehicle configuration, and power requirements. Beginners should seek advice from experienced RC shops or online communities to ensure proper matching with compatible ESCs, batteries, and mechanical components for their specific vehicle.
  • What battery does this motor need? — The 930Kv rating works effectively with battery packs ranging from 2S to 6S LiPo configurations (or equivalent voltage in NiMH chemistry), depending on your specific vehicle design and ESC specifications. Higher voltage batteries will result in faster motor speeds but require appropriate ESC current ratings to handle the increased power draw safely.
  • How does the 14-pole design benefit my RC car? — The 14-pole configuration provides an excellent balance of characteristics: smoother power delivery and reduced vibration compared to lower pole motors, whilst maintaining responsive acceleration and respectable top speed. This makes it particularly suitable for drivers who want predictable handling without excessive vibration affecting their vehicle's performance on various track surfaces.
  • Can I use this motor as a direct replacement in my existing RC car? — Motor compatibility depends on several factors including your vehicle's motor mount dimensions, shaft diameter specifications, and your current ESC's motor connector type. Verify that the M-SPMX-1080 fits your vehicle's mechanical constraints and that your ESC is rated for the 930Kv specification before installation.
