Overview
The ARRMA 91T Slipper Set 48dp is a premium drivetrain spare part designed for serious RC enthusiasts who demand reliability and precision from their RC car components. Whether you're running an ARRMA RC vehicle as a weekend basher or competing in club races across the UK, a quality slipper clutch is absolutely essential to your drivetrain's longevity and performance. This complete slipper assembly comes pre-built and ready to install, saving you valuable setup time and ensuring factory-quality assembly that you can trust.
The slipper clutch is one of the most critical components in any RC car's transmission system. It protects your drivetrain from catastrophic damage when your wheels suddenly lose traction or when you're accelerating hard from a standstill. Without a properly functioning slipper, the shock loads transfer directly to your gears, bearings and motor, leading to premature wear and expensive damage. The ARRMA 91T Slipper Set is engineered to slip smoothly and consistently, dissipating energy safely and keeping your RC car running smoothly lap after lap.
Available now at RC Model Shop, this genuine ARRMA spare part combines precision aluminium construction with durable composite components to deliver the reliability and consistency that competitive RC racing demands. If you're looking for a replacement slipper set for your ARRMA RC vehicle, or upgrading from an older system, the 91T Slipper Set 48dp represents excellent value and assured compatibility with ARRMA platforms across the UK RC hobby.
Key Features
- Precision Manufactured Aluminium Slipper Hub — The core component is machined from premium aluminium alloy, which provides an excellent strength-to-weight ratio whilst maintaining the tight tolerances necessary for smooth power delivery to the rear transmission and consistent slipping behaviour under load.
- 91 Tooth Composite Spur Gear — The durable 91-tooth composite spur gear is engineered to handle reliable power delivery across a wide range of driving conditions, from casual bashing to competitive racing, providing the right balance between durability and performance without excessive weight.
- 48 Diametral Pitch (48dp) Specification — The 48dp gear specification ensures precise meshing with compatible pinions and drivetrain components, delivering smooth engagement, minimal backlash and consistent acceleration response that serious RC racers require for predictable vehicle handling.
- Castellated Slipper Pad Design — The slipper pads feature a castellated (notched) profile that ensures assured location and prevents unwanted rotation or slippage within the spur gear, maintaining consistent friction characteristics and reliable clutch engagement throughout your driving sessions.
- Red Anodised Aluminium Slipper Shaft — Built around a strong red anodised aluminium shaft, this component resists corrosion and wear whilst providing a rigid mounting point for the slipper mechanism, ensuring long-term durability whether you're driving in dry summer conditions or British weather.
- Composite Tension Nut — A moulded composite nut allows you to set the spring tension of your slipper clutch with precision, giving you the ability to tune slipper engagement characteristics to match your driving style, track conditions and vehicle setup without needing specialist tools.
- Pre-Built and Ready to Install — This slipper set arrives fully assembled and pre-set from the factory, eliminating time-consuming assembly and reducing the risk of incorrect setup that could damage your drivetrain or compromise performance during critical races.
Technical Performance
The ARRMA 91T Slipper Set 48dp represents a sophisticated engineering solution to the challenge of protecting RC car drivetrains from damage whilst maintaining smooth, predictable power delivery. The precision-manufactured aluminium slipper hub forms the heart of the assembly, working in concert with the 91-tooth composite spur gear to transmit engine power to your vehicle's rear transmission. The 48dp specification (48 diametral pitch) is a standard measurement in RC drivetrain engineering that ensures precise gear meshing and minimal backlash, critical factors for competitive RC driving where every millisecond of response time counts. The castellated slipper pads grip the spur gear with assured location, preventing the kind of pad slippage that can cause erratic behaviour and power delivery inconsistencies. The red anodised aluminium shaft provides structural rigidity and corrosion resistance, essential qualities for RC cars exposed to moisture and salt from British winter conditions. The composite tension nut allows fine-tuning of the slipper spring preload, enabling you to adjust the clutch engagement point to suit everything from high-grip tarmac racing to loose dirt or gravel surfaces where more aggressive slipping might be beneficial. This is the kind of tuneability that separates genuine racing-grade components from budget alternatives, giving competitive drivers the control they need to extract maximum performance from their RC cars.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a slipper clutch and why do I need one for my RC car? — A slipper clutch is a mechanical component that protects your drivetrain by allowing controlled slippage when excess torque is applied, such as during hard acceleration or when your wheels suddenly lose traction. Without a slipper, the shock loads transfer directly to your gears, motor shaft and bearings, causing rapid wear and potential catastrophic failure. The ARRMA 91T Slipper Set provides this essential protection with smooth, consistent engagement.
- Is this slipper set suitable for beginners and casual RC enthusiasts? — Yes, absolutely. Whilst this is a genuine ARRMA racing-grade component, it's equally important for beginners because a properly functioning slipper clutch prevents accidental damage to expensive drivetrain components caused by poor driving technique. The pre-assembled design means you don't need advanced mechanical skills to install it, making it accessible to anyone with basic RC maintenance knowledge.
- What does 48dp mean and why is it important? — The 48dp specification refers to the diametral pitch of the gear teeth, a standard measurement in mechanical engineering that defines gear tooth size and spacing. The 48dp specification ensures your slipper set will mesh correctly with compatible ARRMA pinions and drivetrain components, delivering smooth power delivery and precise acceleration response without grinding or slipping noises.
- Can I adjust the slipper clutch engagement? — Yes, the moulded composite nut included with this slipper set allows you to adjust the spring tension, which controls how easily the slipper engages and disengages. This tunability means you can customise the slipper's behaviour to match your vehicle setup, driving style and track conditions, from traction-limited loose surfaces to high-grip racing circuits.
- Is this genuine ARRMA or an aftermarket clone? — This is a genuine ARRMA product, manufactured to the brand's exacting quality standards and supplied as an official spare part. Genuine ARRMA components ensure precise compatibility with your vehicle, consistent performance and long-term reliability that clone components often cannot guarantee.
- What ARRMA vehicles is this compatible with? — The 91T Slipper Set 48dp is designed for ARRMA RC vehicles that use this specific drivetrain specification. We recommend checking your vehicle's manual or contacting our team to confirm compatibility with your specific model before ordering.
