Overview
The Team Losi Racing Silicone Diff Fluid, 2000CS (Z-TLR5278) is a precision maintenance fluid engineered specifically for RC car differential systems. Designed and manufactured by Team Losi Racing, one of the most recognised and respected names in competitive RC racing, this silicone-based differential fluid is an essential pit accessory for anyone serious about keeping their RC buggy or truggy in peak racing condition. Whether you're a weekend basher enjoying your RC hobby, a competitive racer preparing for the next event, or an RC enthusiast in the UK looking to maintain your vehicle to factory standards, this genuine TLR product belongs in your pit kit.
Differential fluid is critical to the performance and longevity of your RC car's drivetrain. The differential is one of the most heavily stressed components in any RC vehicle, and using the correct fluid ensures smooth operation, optimal traction control, and extended component life. This 2000CS viscosity rating makes it ideal for a wide range of track conditions and driving styles, offering the perfect balance between responsiveness and durability. Just like the TLR Factory Team drivers rely on genuine TLR pit accessories and track supplies to maintain their competition-winning vehicles, you can depend on this authentic silicone diff fluid to deliver consistent, reliable performance every time you take your RC car to the track.
Team Losi Racing pit accessories and track supplies are designed by RC racing experts with the same exacting engineering standards applied to TLR's legendary buggies and truggies. This differential fluid is no exception—it's formulated to work harmoniously with TLR RC vehicles and is compatible with a wide variety of other leading RC brands. Stock your pit bench with this essential RC maintenance fluid and ensure your differential stays properly lubricated, protected, and performing at its absolute best.
Key Features
- 2000CS Silicone Formula — The specific viscosity rating of 2000 centistokes (CS) provides the ideal balance of flow and protection for differential systems across a broad range of track conditions, ensuring consistent performance whether you're racing in warm weather or cooler climate racing events.
- Genuine Team Losi Racing Product — Manufactured by TLR to the same exacting standards as their award-winning RC vehicles, this differential fluid has been tested and proven on competition tracks worldwide, giving you the confidence that you're using a product trusted by factory team drivers.
- Silicone-Based Formulation — The silicone composition provides superior protection, stable viscosity characteristics, and resistance to temperature fluctuations, ensuring your differential remains well-lubricated throughout extended racing sessions and varying weather conditions.
- Essential Pit Accessory — Every serious RC racer's pit bench should be equipped with quality maintenance fluids, and this TLR diff fluid is a must-have for keeping your RC buggy, truggy, or other RC vehicles in winning condition between races and practice sessions.
- Perfect for Differential Maintenance — Whether you're performing scheduled maintenance, replacing worn fluid, or fine-tuning your differential's performance characteristics, this fluid delivers the consistent, reliable results that competitive RC racing demands.
- Part of the Complete TLR Range — Complement this differential fluid with other genuine TLR pit accessories, track supplies, shock oils, and maintenance products to create a fully equipped, professional-grade RC racing workshop.
Technical Performance
The TLR Silicone Diff Fluid 2000CS represents years of development and real-world racing experience distilled into a single, purpose-built maintenance product. The 2000 centistoke viscosity rating positions this fluid in the mid-range of differential fluid options, making it exceptionally versatile for racers who encounter varying track conditions or who prefer a balanced approach to differential tuning. Unlike shock oils, which are designed for suspension damping, differential fluids must provide controlled resistance without creating excessive drag, and the silicone-based formulation achieves this perfectly. The fluid's temperature stability is particularly important in RC racing, where intense driving sessions can generate significant heat in the differential gears and bearings. Silicone fluids maintain their viscosity characteristics across a wider temperature range than conventional mineral oils, ensuring that your differential performs consistently whether you're racing during a cool UK winter event or under the intense heat of outdoor summer competition. The formulation provides excellent anti-wear properties, protecting the delicate gear teeth and bearing surfaces inside the differential housing, which extends component life and reduces the need for costly rebuilds. Because this is a genuine Team Losi Racing product manufactured to OEM standards, you can trust that it meets the precise specifications required for optimal differential performance in TLR RC vehicles and is compatible with the majority of other leading RC brands and models available in the UK market.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does the 2000CS viscosity rating mean and which RC cars need this fluid? — The CS designation stands for centistokes, a measurement of fluid viscosity or thickness. The 2000CS rating indicates a medium-viscosity silicone fluid suitable for differential systems in a wide variety of RC buggies, truggies, and other vehicles. This viscosity works well in moderate track conditions and is an excellent choice if you're unsure which fluid viscosity your RC car requires. Consult your vehicle's manual or contact RC Model Shop for specific recommendations for your particular RC model, as different vehicles may benefit from slightly different viscosity grades depending on their design and your driving style.
- Why should I use genuine Team Losi Racing differential fluid instead of generic alternatives? — Genuine TLR products are formulated specifically for TLR RC vehicles and have been tested extensively in competitive racing environments. Using authentic TLR pit accessories and maintenance fluids ensures compatibility, consistent performance, and optimal protection for your differential system. Factory team drivers depend on genuine TLR track supplies because they know the quality is uncompromised, and you can benefit from that same level of reliability.
- How often should I replace the differential fluid in my RC car? — Differential fluid should be inspected and replaced regularly depending on usage intensity. Heavy racing, frequent bashing, or extended track sessions may require more frequent fluid changes than casual recreational driving. Most racers inspect their differential fluid before major events and replace it if it appears dirty or discoloured. For specific guidance on your RC vehicle, consult your owner's manual or speak with the experienced team at RC Model Shop who can advise based on your particular vehicle and driving habits.
- Is this silicone diff fluid compatible with my non-TLR RC car? — Yes, this silicone-based differential fluid is compatible with the majority of RC buggies, truggies, and other vehicles from leading manufacturers. The 2000CS viscosity rating is a standard specification recognised across the RC industry. However, always check your specific vehicle's documentation to confirm the recommended differential fluid viscosity before applying, as some vehicles may specify different grades. If you're uncertain about compatibility, the knowledgeable team at RC Model Shop can provide guidance specific to your RC model.
- What makes silicone differential fluid better than mineral oil alternatives? — Silicone-based formulations offer superior temperature stability, meaning they maintain consistent viscosity across a wider range of temperatures compared to mineral oils. This characteristic is particularly valuable in RC racing where intense driving generates heat. Silicone fluids also typically provide enhanced anti-wear protection and better resistance to oxidation, helping your differential components last longer and perform more reliably throughout the racing season.
- Should I use the same fluid in my differential and shock absorbers? — No, differential fluids and shock oils are formulated for completely different purposes and should not be interchanged. Shock oils are designed specifically for damping suspension movement and require different viscosity characteristics than differential fluids. Team Losi Racing manufactures both differential fluids and shock oils as separate, purpose-built products. Using the correct fluid type for each application ensures your RC vehicle performs optimally.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Yes, differential fluid maintenance is straightforward and this product is suitable for RC enthusiasts of all experience levels. If you're new to RC car maintenance, the experts at RC Model Shop can walk you through the simple process of checking and replacing differential fluid. It's one of the most basic and important maintenance tasks every RC racer should learn, and using a quality product like genuine TLR fluid ensures you're starting with the best possible foundation.
