Overview

The ARRMA Shock Springs 130mm 2.51N/mm (14.33lb/in) are essential suspension components designed for serious RC enthusiasts who demand precision tuning and reliable performance. These high-quality shock springs allow you to fine-tune your vehicle's handling characteristics in seconds, making them indispensable for anyone running ARRMA 1/5 scale brushless RC trucks. Whether you're a competitive racer, weekend basher, or dedicated RC car UK hobbyist, having the right suspension setup is crucial to extracting maximum performance from your machine. These springs are precision-engineered to deliver consistent, predictable performance across a wide range of driving conditions and terrains.

Suspension tuning is one of the most effective ways to optimise your RC truck's handling, stability, and overall driving experience. By swapping out your shock springs for alternative rates, you can adjust how your vehicle responds to bumps, jumps, and corners. The ARRMA Shock Springs featured here offer a spring rate of 2.51N/mm (14.33lb/in), making them suitable for specific setups and driving styles. These are genuine ARRMA parts manufactured to the exacting standards that have made ARRMA one of the most respected names in ready to run RC trucks and brushless RC vehicles globally. If you're looking to dial in your 1/5 scale KRATON 8S or OUTCAST 8S truck, these springs should be in your spares box.

Every serious RC enthusiast knows that suspension geometry and spring rates directly affect cornering grip, jump landing characteristics, and overall vehicle stability. The 130mm length and 32mm outer diameter of these springs ensure perfect fitment with compatible ARRMA models. Manufactured from premium spring steel, these components are built to withstand the rigours of high-performance RC driving, whether you're racing on tarmac, bashing through grass, or tackling rocky terrain. Stock up on these genuine ARRMA springs to keep your truck performing at its best.

Key Features

  • Precision manufactured from spring steel — These shock springs are engineered from high-grade spring steel, which ensures consistent performance and long-lasting durability through repeated compression and extension cycles, giving you reliable performance session after session.
  • Specific spring rate of 2.51N/mm (14.33lb/in) — This particular spring rate provides a defined level of suspension stiffness, allowing you to optimise your vehicle's handling characteristics and find the perfect balance between comfort and performance for your driving style and terrain.
  • 130mm length design — The 130mm length is specifically engineered for compatibility with select ARRMA 1/5 scale models including the KRATON 8S and OUTCAST 8S range, ensuring proper suspension geometry and performance.
  • 32mm outer diameter — The standardised 32mm outer diameter ensures proper fitment with ARRMA shock absorbers and suspension components, maintaining the correct preload and damping characteristics.
  • Includes 2 springs per pack — You receive two shock springs in this package, allowing you to upgrade both front or both rear shocks, or keep one as a spare for quick on-the-fly tuning at the track or field.
  • Easy installation for quick tuning — These springs can be swapped out in minutes, allowing you to experiment with different suspension setups without major disassembly, making them perfect for fine-tuning your truck between driving sessions.
  • Genuine ARRMA component — As an official ARRMA part, you can be confident in quality, fitment, and performance consistency compared to aftermarket alternatives.

Technical Performance

The ARRMA Shock Springs represent a critical component in the suspension system of high-performance 1/5 scale brushless RC trucks. The 2.51N/mm spring rate translates to 14.33lb/in in imperial measurements, providing a specific damping characteristic that suits particular driving conditions and vehicle setups. The springs are manufactured from quality spring steel, which is essential for maintaining the spring's intended rate over extended use without permanent deformation or loss of performance. The 130mm length ensures proper fitment within the shock absorber bodies of compatible ARRMA vehicles, whilst the 32mm outer diameter provides the correct interface with shock piston and mounting hardware. These springs play a vital role in the overall suspension geometry of your RC truck, directly influencing how well the vehicle absorbs impacts from jumps and rough terrain, how it corners on flat ground, and how it maintains traction during acceleration and deceleration. For competitive RC car UK racing or serious recreational bashing, having the correct spring rate for your driving style and terrain is essential. By adjusting spring rates, you can make your truck more compliant for bumpy surfaces or stiffer for flat, smooth tracks. The precision manufacturing ensures that each spring maintains its intended rate consistently, meaning both springs in this pack will perform identically and help maintain balanced handling characteristics across front and rear suspension.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which ARRMA models are these shock springs compatible with? — These 130mm 2.51N/mm springs are confirmed compatible with the ARRMA KRATON 8S 4X4 RTR Brushless Speed Truck, the KRATON 8S EXB 4X4 Roller Brushless Speed Truck, the KRATON 8S EXB AVC 4X4 RTR Brushless Speed Truck, the OUTCAST 8S AVC 4X4 RTR Brushless Stunt Truck, the OUTCAST 8S EXB 4X4 Roller Brushless Stunt Truck, and the OUTCAST 8S EXB AVC 4X4 RTR Brushless Stunt Truck. Always verify your specific model before ordering to ensure compatibility.
  • What spring rate should I choose for my RC truck? — The spring rate you select depends on your driving style, terrain, and vehicle setup. A 2.51N/mm rate is a standard offering suitable for many driving conditions. Softer springs (lower N/mm) provide more compliance on rough terrain, whilst stiffer springs (higher N/mm) offer better handling on smooth tracks. Experimenting with different rates is part of the tuning process.
  • Can I mix different spring rates on the same truck? — Whilst technically possible, it is not recommended as it can create imbalanced handling characteristics. For optimal performance, use matching spring rates front and rear unless you are specifically tuning for a particular driving condition or vehicle bias.
  • How often should I replace my shock springs? — With proper care, quality spring steel shock springs should last for many driving sessions. However, springs can lose their rate over time with heavy use. If you notice your suspension feeling softer than before or handling becoming inconsistent, it may be time to replace them. These springs are affordable spares to keep on hand.
  • Is this suitable for beginners? — Suspension tuning is an intermediate to advanced skill. Beginners can certainly benefit from these springs, but should start with the manufacturer-recommended setup and only experiment with different rates once they are confident working with their truck's suspension system.
  • What tools do I need to install these springs? — Installation typically requires basic RC tools such as Allen keys and potentially a spring compressor tool, depending on your shock absorber design. Refer to your ARRMA vehicle manual for detailed installation instructions.
