The Castle P-CC11800 Phoenix Edge Lite 80HV ESC with 80A continuous rating, 12S max input, and telemetry support is a high-voltage, reduced-weight electronic speed controller engineered for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft operating on 3S–12S LiPo setups. Designed for installations where space and weight are critical, this ESC delivers Castle’s full suite of advanced features—telemetry, data logging, and programmable AUX functionality—without compromising performance. With no internal BEC, the Castle P-CC11800 supports external regulation systems, offering greater flexibility and cleaner power architecture for demanding flight environments.

Key features of the Castle P-CC11800 Phoenix Edge Lite 80HV ESC

  • Lightweight HV design – ideal for aircraft requiring efficient power-to-weight balance
  • No internal BEC – supports external regulation for customized power distribution
  • Telemetry compatibility – enables real-time monitoring of system health and performance
  • Advanced AUX wire functionality – supports RPM output, governor gain input, and arming lockout
  • Integrated data logging – captures flight metrics for post-flight diagnostics and tuning
  • Castle Link programmability – full access to firmware updates and configuration options

How does the reduced-weight HV design benefit lightweight aircraft?

The Castle P-CC11800 with 50.4V max voltage, 94.6g weight with wires, and 69mm length is part of Castle’s Phoenix Edge Lite HV series, offering the same advanced functionality as the standard HV line in a smaller, lighter package. Weighing just 3.3 oz with wires and measuring 2.7 inches in length, this ESC integrates easily into compact fuselage layouts and supports agile flight dynamics. The reduced weight improves thrust-to-weight ratios, reduces drag, and enhances responsiveness—especially critical in aerobatic or endurance-focused builds.

Why does the Castle P-CC11800 exclude an internal BEC?

The Castle ESC for 3S–12S LiPo setups with no internal BEC and full telemetry compatibility is designed for aircraft that require external voltage regulation. By omitting the internal BEC, Castle enables users to tailor their power systems to match specific receiver and servo requirements. This approach reduces onboard complexity and allows for high-voltage components that operate outside standard BEC ranges, making the ESC ideal for advanced builds with specialized hardware.

How does telemetry integration improve flight safety and control?

Telemetry transforms the Phoenix Edge Lite 80HV into a proactive flight management tool. Compatible with Castle Telemetry Link modules for S.BUS2 and X-BUS systems, the ESC allows pilots to monitor ESC temperature, input voltage, and receiver battery status in real time. Audible alerts and flashing LED patterns notify users of system anomalies such as over-temperature, excessive load, or locked head speed conditions. These features help prevent unexpected failures and allow users to make informed decisions mid-flight.

What functions does the AUX wire unlock in the Castle P-CC11800?

The Phoenix Edge Lite 80HV ESC with RPM output, governor gain input, and arming lockout key includes a white AUX wire that expands the ESC’s control capabilities. This programmable line can be configured to adjust helicopter governor gain mid-flight, output RPM data to compatible gyros, or serve as an audible beacon after an unexpected landing. Additionally, the AUX wire supports ESC arming lockout, preventing motor activation until a designated receiver channel exceeds 50% signal.

How does data logging support post-flight analysis?

The Castle P-CC11800 programmable ESC with Castle Link USB access and reduced weight includes onboard data logging that records key flight metrics such as RPM, voltage, and current draw. These logs can be reviewed using Castle Link software, allowing users to identify inefficiencies, diagnose faults, and refine throttle curves or governor settings. For competitive pilots and engineers, data logging turns every flight into a learning opportunity, enabling continuous improvement and precision tuning.

What programming options are available with Castle Link?

Users can configure the Castle P-CC11800 using the Castle Link USB adapter (included via coupon) and Castle Link Windows software, or access settings via the Castle Link iOS App and B-Link Bluetooth Adapter. These tools allow for detailed adjustments to throttle response, voltage cutoffs, and AUX wire behavior. Firmware updates are available at no charge, and manual programming via transmitter stick is supported for basic setup. Multiple setup profiles can be saved and loaded for different aircraft or flight conditions.

Is the Castle P-CC11800 suitable for lightweight helis and 12S fixed-wing aircraft?

Absolutely. The Buy Castle P-CC11800 Phoenix Edge Lite 80HV ESC for lightweight helis and 12S fixed-wing aircraft is built to handle sustained output and rapid throttle transitions in high-voltage platforms. Its compact form factor and reduced weight make it ideal for installations where space and mass are limited, while its 80A continuous rating ensures consistent power delivery during aerobatic maneuvers and extended climbs.
