Overview
The Castle Creations 26 Tooth 32 Pitch Pinion Gear is a precision-engineered aluminium pinion designed for RC enthusiasts who demand reliable performance and accurate gearing tuning. Whether you're running an RC car UK setup or fine-tuning a brushless RC truck, this pinion gear plays a crucial role in controlling the speed and torque balance of your model. With its 26-tooth configuration and 32-pitch specification, it's engineered to work seamlessly with standard 32P spur gears and 5mm shaft brushless motors, making it an essential component for any serious RC hobbyist looking to optimise their setup.
Castle Creations has established itself as a trusted manufacturer in the RC community, and this pinion gear exemplifies their commitment to quality and precision engineering. The 26T pinion offers a specific gearing option that helps you find the perfect balance between acceleration and top speed, allowing you to tune your ready to run RC model or custom build to suit your driving style and track conditions. Whether you're racing competitively, bashing at the weekend, or exploring the capabilities of your brushless RC vehicle, choosing the right pinion gear is fundamental to achieving optimal performance.
This pinion is suitable for general 32P applications where a 5mm motor shaft is required, making it compatible with a wide range of modern RC cars and trucks that utilise 32-pitch spur gears and 5mm shaft brushless motors. Before installation, always verify your model's gearing specifications to ensure correct fitment and optimal performance from your RC setup.
Key Features
- 26 Tooth Configuration — The 26-tooth count provides a specific gearing ratio that helps balance speed and torque in your RC model, allowing you to tune acceleration characteristics and top speed to match your driving preferences and track conditions.
- 32 Pitch (32P) Standard — Compatible with industry-standard 32-pitch spur gears, ensuring this pinion works seamlessly with most modern RC cars and trucks on the UK market that use this common pitch specification.
- 5mm Motor Shaft Bore — The 5mm shaft diameter is designed to fit brushless motors with standard 5mm shafts, which are found on most contemporary RC vehicles including ready to run models and custom builds.
- Aluminium Construction — Manufactured from durable aluminium material, this pinion offers an excellent balance of strength and weight, ensuring reliable performance whilst maintaining efficiency in your RC drivetrain.
- Precision Engineering — Castle Creations' precision manufacturing ensures accurate tooth profiles and consistent quality, which translates to smooth mesh with your spur gear and reliable torque transmission throughout your RC driving sessions.
Technical Performance
The Castle Creations 26 Tooth 32 Pitch Pinion Gear represents precision engineering optimised for reliability and performance in RC applications. Manufactured from aluminium, this pinion combines lightweight characteristics with sufficient durability to handle the demands of both casual driving and competitive RC racing. The 26-tooth count working in conjunction with the 32-pitch specification creates a defined gearing ratio that directly influences your RC model's acceleration and top speed characteristics. When meshed with a compatible 32-pitch spur gear on a 5mm shaft brushless motor, this pinion ensures smooth power delivery and efficient torque transmission. The precise tooth profile, a hallmark of Castle Creations' manufacturing standards, minimises gear noise and wear whilst maximising the lifespan of both the pinion and mating spur gear. The 5mm bore diameter ensures a secure fit on standard brushless motor shafts, eliminating play and vibration that could compromise performance. Whether you're tuning a 2WD or 4WD RC car, a stadium truck, or any other RC vehicle type that uses 32-pitch gearing, this pinion provides the reliable foundation needed for consistent performance. The aluminium material offers excellent strength-to-weight ratio, contributing to overall vehicle efficiency without adding unnecessary mass to your RC setup.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What gearing ratio does the 26-tooth pinion provide? — The 26-tooth pinion works with your spur gear count to determine the overall gearing ratio. To calculate your specific ratio, divide the spur gear tooth count by 26. For example, a 26-tooth pinion with a 78-tooth spur gear produces a 3:1 ratio. Your specific setup depends on your spur gear selection, so always verify both components are 32-pitch compatible.
- Is this pinion suitable for brushless RC motors? — Yes, the 5mm shaft bore is specifically designed for brushless motors with 5mm shafts, which are standard on most modern RC cars and trucks including ready to run models and competition-grade builds available in the UK market.
- What RC vehicles can use this 32-pitch pinion? — This pinion is compatible with RC cars and trucks that utilise 32-pitch spur gears and 5mm shaft brushless motors. This includes various scales and types such as stadium trucks, buggies, short-course trucks, and touring cars. Always verify your specific model's gearing specifications before purchase to ensure correct fitment.
- How do I know if I need a 26-tooth pinion instead of other tooth counts? — Pinion tooth count directly affects your RC model's speed and torque characteristics. A higher tooth count (larger pinion) provides more top speed but less torque, whilst a lower tooth count provides more torque and acceleration but lower top speed. The 26-tooth option offers a balanced middle ground. Consult your vehicle's manual or the manufacturer's gearing recommendations to determine the optimal pinion tooth count for your specific RC model and driving style.
- What is 32-pitch gearing? — 32-pitch refers to the gear pitch standard, which is a measurement of gear tooth spacing. A 32-pitch gear has 32 teeth per inch of pitch diameter. This is one of the most common pitch standards in RC vehicles, particularly for 1/10-scale RC cars and trucks. All mating gears in your drivetrain must use the same pitch specification to function correctly together.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — This is a replacement or upgrade component designed for RC enthusiasts with basic mechanical knowledge. Whilst pinion installation is relatively straightforward, it requires understanding your vehicle's gearing system. Beginners should consult their vehicle's manual or seek advice from experienced RC hobbyists or retailers before making gearing changes.
