Overview

The ARRMA CVD Driveshaft 142mm (2) Z-AR310458 is an essential spare part for any serious RC enthusiast operating high-performance ARRMA vehicles. Whether you're running a 1/7 Big Rock, Talion, or Fireteam, or stepping down to the incredible 1/8 scale Kraton, Notorious, Outcast or Talion models, this precision-engineered driveshaft represents genuine OEM quality that you can trust. Built to withstand the demanding forces generated by brushless 6S powertrains, this replacement component is the perfect addition to your RC tool box for maintaining peak performance and reliability on the track or trail.

Driveshafts are among the most critical drivetrain components in any RC vehicle, responsible for transmitting power from the centre differential directly to the wheel hubs. Over time, whether through regular use, aggressive driving, or the occasional collision, these components can wear out or sustain damage. Having a quality replacement on hand means you'll never be stranded waiting for parts to arrive—you can get back to racing or bashing in minutes. The ARRMA CVD Driveshaft 142mm ensures you maintain the responsive, efficient power delivery that ARRMA's top-tier RC cars and trucks are famous for throughout the UK RC market.

This pack includes two driveshafts, giving you a complete replacement set for both front and rear axles, or allowing you to keep spares for future maintenance. Whether you're a weekend basher pushing your vehicle to its limits, a competitive racer demanding absolute reliability, or simply a conscientious owner who likes to maintain spare parts inventory, this is exactly what you need.

Key Features

  • Super-tough steel construction — Manufactured from premium hardened steel, these driveshafts deliver exceptional durability and resistance to fatigue, ensuring they can handle the extreme forces generated by high-performance brushless electric drivetrains without flexing, bending, or breaking under load.
  • Low rotating wear design — The precision engineering minimises friction and wear during operation, meaning your driveshafts maintain their performance characteristics over extended periods of use, reducing the need for frequent replacement and saving you money in the long run.
  • Precision manufactured Dog-Bone Pins — The carefully engineered dog-bone pins provide smooth, consistent operation in all conditions, whether you're racing on tarmac, blasting through mud, or navigating rocky terrain, ensuring reliable engagement and power transmission every single time you throttle up.
  • Precision engineered CVD coupling — The Constant Velocity Differential coupling provides ultra-smooth power transfer between the driveshaft and wheel hub, eliminating the jerky, inefficient power delivery you might experience with lower-quality alternatives and enabling better handling and control of your RC vehicle.
  • Low-maintenance operation — Unlike some aftermarket driveshafts that require frequent inspection and adjustment, these ARRMA OEM components are designed to work straight out of the box with minimal ongoing maintenance, freeing you to focus on driving rather than constant upkeep.
  • Perfect spare parts solution — Supplied as a pair, these two 141.5mm CVD driveshafts give you everything needed to replace the complete front and rear driveshaft set, or maintain an inventory of spares for busy racing weekends.

Technical Performance

The ARRMA CVD Driveshaft 142mm represents the pinnacle of OEM spare parts engineering for serious RC enthusiasts in the UK. Measuring 141.5mm in length, these driveshafts are specifically engineered to fit the wider variety of ARRMA 6S brushless models, from the substantial 1/7 scale Big Rock, Talion and Fireteam platforms right down through the incredibly popular and highly capable 1/8 scale Kraton, Notorious, Outcast and Talion lines. The driveshafts are manufactured with precision tolerances that ensure perfect fitment and alignment within the vehicle's drivetrain, critical for maintaining the handling characteristics and efficiency that make ARRMA vehicles so competitive. The steel construction provides the structural rigidity necessary to transmit the considerable power output of modern brushless ESC and motor combinations—these driveshafts are engineered to handle 6S LiPo performance reliably without deformation. The CVD coupling system is particularly noteworthy, as it maintains consistent velocity under load, meaning power delivery remains smooth and predictable throughout the entire range of steering angles, which is essential for both on-road racing applications and more extreme off-road bashing scenarios. The Dog-Bone pins are precision-manufactured to extremely tight tolerances, creating engagement points that are immune to the kind of wear patterns that can develop with inferior aftermarket components. Every aspect of these driveshafts has been engineered with longevity and performance in mind, making them an investment in reliability rather than simply a stop-gap solution.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which ARRMA models are compatible with the CVD Driveshaft 142mm Z-AR310458? — This driveshaft is a standard parts fitment for an extensive range of ARRMA vehicles, including the 1/7 Big Rock 6S 4x4 RTR, 1/7 Fireteam 6S 4x4 RTR, 1/8 Kraton 6S 4x4 RTR, 1/8 Kraton 6S EXB, 1/8 Notorious 6S 4x4 RTR, 1/8 Outcast 6S 4x4 RTR, 1/8 Outcast 6S EXB AVC, and 1/8 Talion 6S 4x4 RTR with their various iterations and black editions, making it one of the most versatile ARRMA spare parts you can stock.
  • Do I need any special tools to install these driveshafts? — Installation is straightforward and requires only basic RC maintenance tools. The driveshafts simply slot into place at the centre differential and wheel hub positions, secured by the existing ARRMA hardware. Most RC enthusiasts can complete the replacement in under ten minutes per shaft.
  • How long do ARRMA CVD driveshafts typically last? — With proper maintenance and reasonable use, these durable steel driveshafts can provide thousands of kilometres of reliable service. However, aggressive bashing, crashes, or extremely high-speed runs may reduce their lifespan. Having spare driveshafts on hand ensures you're never sidelined by a worn or damaged shaft.
  • What is CVD and why does it matter? — CVD stands for Constant Velocity Differential, a system that maintains smooth, consistent power delivery regardless of the angles at which the driveshaft operates. This is particularly important in RC vehicles where the suspension moves through a full range of motion, and steering angles can be extreme. Superior CVD engineering means better handling, less binding, and improved overall performance.
  • Are these genuine ARRMA parts? — Yes, these are OEM ARRMA parts supplied through authorised retailers. They carry the full ARRMA quality guarantee and are manufactured to the exact specifications required for optimal fitment and performance in your ARRMA RC vehicle.
  • Will these driveshafts work on older ARRMA models? — The 141.5mm length and CVD coupling are standard across most ARRMA 4WD models from recent generations. However, we always recommend checking your vehicle's manual or contacting our expert team to confirm compatibility with your specific model before purchasing.
