Overview

The EFL Brushless Outrunner Motor, 930Kv (M-SPMXAM1700B) is a high-quality brushless motor designed specifically for parkflyer RC aircraft applications. Manufactured by Spektrum, a trusted name in RC hobby electronics, this outrunner motor delivers reliable, efficient power for remote control planes and light aircraft. Whether you are an experienced RC pilot looking for a replacement motor or a newcomer to electric-powered RC aircraft, this brushless outrunner offers the performance and durability you need to enjoy consistent, trouble-free flying sessions.

This motor represents the perfect balance between power delivery and efficiency for parkflyer-class aircraft. The brushless outrunner design means the motor's outer can rotates around a fixed stator, a configuration widely preferred in RC aircraft because it provides excellent cooling and high-speed capabilities essential for smooth, stable flight. At 930Kv, this motor is engineered to deliver responsive power characteristics that suit a wide range of parkflyer designs and flying styles, from leisurely weekend flights to more spirited aerobatic manoeuvres.

When shopping for brushless RC motors in the UK, quality and compatibility are paramount. The Spektrum 930Kv outrunner motor comes from an authorised manufacturer recognised for precision engineering and reliability. RC enthusiasts and professional pilots alike trust Spektrum components to deliver consistent performance flight after flight, season after season. If you are building or upgrading a parkflyer aircraft, this brushless motor is a dependable choice that will serve you well.

Key Features

  • Brushless Outrunner Design — The outrunner configuration means the rotating can surrounds the fixed stator, which provides superior cooling through direct air exposure and enables the motor to operate efficiently at high speeds, making it ideal for RC aircraft where sustained performance and thermal management are critical.
  • 930Kv Rating — The 930Kv specification indicates the motor will spin approximately 930 revolutions per volt applied, offering the ideal speed curve for parkflyer aircraft that require responsive power delivery without excessive RPM that could damage propellers or compromise flight characteristics.
  • Parkflyer Application Focus — This motor is purpose-built for parkflyer-class RC aircraft, meaning it is optimised in terms of weight, size, power output and efficiency specifically for the lighter airframes, smaller battery packs and precise control demands of this popular RC flying category.
  • Brushless Motor Technology — Brushless motors eliminate the carbon brushes and commutators found in older brushed designs, resulting in significantly reduced maintenance requirements, longer operational lifespan, higher efficiency, lower electrical noise and more consistent power delivery throughout the flight envelope.

Technical Performance

The Spektrum EFL Brushless Outrunner Motor represents state-of-the-art motor technology for parkflyer RC aircraft. With a Kv rating of 930, this motor is engineered to provide the optimal power-to-speed ratio for light, efficient aircraft designs. The brushless outrunner configuration ensures that the motor's rotating can dissipates heat effectively during extended flight sessions, maintaining stable performance and extending the working life of the motor. The construction quality typical of Spektrum motors means precision-engineered components, balanced rotors and tight tolerances that translate into smooth, vibration-free operation in the demanding environment of RC flight. When paired with an appropriate brushless electronic speed controller (ESC) and compatible LiPo battery pack, this motor will deliver the reliable, repeatable performance that RC pilots depend on. The outrunner design is particularly favoured in RC aircraft applications because it naturally provides excellent cooling and high-speed capabilities, making it suitable for a wide range of parkflyer designs from traditional trainer aircraft to high-performance aerobatic planes. Whether you are upgrading an existing aircraft or building a new one, understanding that this motor operates on the brushless principle means you will benefit from lower maintenance, greater reliability and superior power consistency compared to older brushed motor technology.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What type of RC aircraft is the 930Kv outrunner motor suitable for? — This motor is designed for parkflyer-class RC aircraft, which typically includes smaller, lighter planes designed to fly in confined spaces such as parks, indoor venues and small flying fields. Parkflyers are known for their portability, ease of transport and forgiving flight characteristics, making them popular with RC pilots of all skill levels in the UK and beyond.
  • What is the difference between an outrunner motor and an inrunner motor for RC aircraft? — Outrunner motors have a rotating can that spins around a fixed stator core, whilst inrunner motors have a fixed can and rotating stator core. For RC aircraft applications, outrunners are generally preferred because they offer superior cooling through direct air exposure, higher efficiency at high speeds and lower electrical noise, all critical factors for smooth, sustained flight performance.
  • Is the Spektrum 930Kv brushless motor suitable for beginners? — Yes, this brushless outrunner motor is an excellent choice for beginners to RC aircraft flying. Brushless motors are more forgiving than brushed alternatives, require no maintenance, offer consistent power delivery and integrate seamlessly with modern brushless ESCs. The 930Kv rating is a sensible middle-ground that suits a wide range of parkflyer designs without requiring advanced tuning knowledge.
  • What battery voltage should I use with this 930Kv motor? — The source information provided does not specify exact voltage compatibility. However, you should consult Spektrum's detailed technical documentation or contact RC Model Shop for guidance on suitable LiPo battery configurations, as the correct battery selection is critical to optimising motor performance and protecting your equipment.
  • Will this motor work with any brushless ESC? — The motor itself is a standard brushless outrunner and will work with most quality brushless electronic speed controllers. However, it is essential to select an ESC with appropriate current rating and programming options for your specific aircraft setup. RC Model Shop staff can advise on compatible ESC options to ensure your complete system is well-matched and reliable.
  • How does brushless technology benefit my RC flying experience? — Brushless motors offer numerous advantages: they require no brush or commutator maintenance, they produce less electrical noise and vibration, they deliver more consistent power throughout a flight session, they generate less heat under load, and they simply last longer than brushed alternatives, meaning better value for money and fewer mechanical failures during your flying adventures.
