Overview
The Spektrum IC5 Device Charge Lead is an essential charging adapter for RC enthusiasts in the UK who rely on Spektrum battery management systems. This 6-inch charge lead provides a reliable connection between your IC5 charging device and 4mm bullet connectors, making it a practical addition to any RC hobby setup. Whether you're running electric RC cars, trucks, or other battery-powered RC equipment, having the correct charge lead ensures safe and efficient battery charging every time you head out for a session.
Designed specifically for compatibility with IC5 charging devices, this adapter bridges the gap between proprietary Spektrum connectors and the widely-used 4mm bullet standard that many RC modellers prefer. The 6-inch lead length provides convenient reach without excessive cable management issues, whilst the 13 AWG wire gauge ensures adequate current delivery for safe charging operations. For those building ready to run RC vehicles or maintaining an existing fleet of Spektrum-equipped models, this charge lead is a practical solution that eliminates compatibility headaches.
RC enthusiasts across the UK who have invested in Spektrum charging equipment will appreciate the straightforward functionality of this adapter. It's the kind of accessory that doesn't get much attention until you need it, but when you do, you'll be grateful to have it on hand. This is a genuine Spektrum product from a trusted manufacturer with decades of RC industry experience.
Key Features
- IC5 Device Compatibility — This charge lead connects directly to Spektrum IC5 charging devices, ensuring safe and reliable power delivery during battery charging sessions without the need for makeshift solutions or incorrect adapters.
- 4mm Male Bullet Connectors — The 4mm bullet connector standard is widely used across the RC hobby and offers secure, positive electrical connections that prevent accidental disconnection during charging operations.
- 6-Inch Wire Length — The 6-inch cable provides sufficient reach from your charging device to your battery pack whilst maintaining organised workspace management and reducing trip hazards around your charging station.
- 13 AWG Wire Gauge — The 13 AWG wire specification is appropriately sized to safely handle the current delivery requirements for IC5 charging operations without voltage drop or heat generation issues.
- Genuine Spektrum Product — As an official Spektrum adapter, this charge lead meets the manufacturer's quality standards and ensures compatibility across the full range of Spektrum battery management products.
Technical Performance
The Spektrum IC5 Device Charge Lead represents straightforward engineering focused on delivering reliable electrical connectivity for battery charging applications. The 13 AWG wire specification provides an appropriate current-carrying capacity for typical IC5 charging scenarios, whether you're working with standard capacity LiPo packs or larger capacity battery systems. The connector design ensures positive electrical contact and prevents the kind of loose connections that can lead to charging failures or safety issues. The 6-inch length has been carefully selected to provide convenient reach around a typical RC charging station without introducing unnecessary cable bulk. This adapter is built with the same attention to quality standards that Spektrum applies across its complete range of RC charging and battery management products. The male 4mm bullet connectors engage cleanly with corresponding female connectors, providing tactile feedback that confirms a secure connection before charging begins.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Spektrum IC5 Device Charge Lead compatible with my charging setup? — This charge lead is designed specifically to connect Spektrum IC5 charging devices to battery packs fitted with 4mm female bullet connectors. If your RC battery system uses 4mm bullets, this adapter will provide direct compatibility without additional conversion steps.
- What is the difference between 13 AWG and other wire gauges for RC charging? — AWG or American Wire Gauge indicates the thickness of the conductor wire. 13 AWG provides a balance between flexibility and current-carrying capacity, making it suitable for IC5 charging operations. Thicker gauges (lower numbers) carry more current but are less flexible; thinner gauges (higher numbers) are more flexible but can overheat with high current draw.
- Can I use this charge lead with Spektrum Smart Technology batteries? — No, this product is not compatible with Spektrum Smart Technology batteries. If you use Smart Technology batteries, you will require a different charge lead specifically designed for Smart Technology connectors.
- Why would I need a dedicated charge lead rather than soldering connections? — Dedicated charge leads like this one provide safe, repeatable connections that can be quickly disconnected without risk of cold joints or connection failures. They also protect your battery connectors from heat damage that can occur during soldering operations.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Yes, this charge lead is straightforward to use. Simply plug it into your IC5 charging device on one end and connect the 4mm bullet connectors to your battery pack on the other. It requires no soldering or technical expertise to operate correctly.
