FMS 64mm F/A-18 Hornet: Sleek, Scaled, and Ready to Fly
FMS is proud to introduce the all-new 64mm F/A-18 Hornet, featuring a completely redesigned mould with increased dimensions, refined contours and enhanced scale detailing. This new version delivers a high-fidelity replica with impressive features tailored for beginners exploring the EDF jet category.
Scale realism is brought to life through CNC-machined front landing gear, scale-style rear landing gear and integrated navigation lights, giving the aircraft a striking presence both on the ground and in the air. These improvements are not only visual — they also contribute to stability during take-off and landing.
Powered by a 64mm 12-blade ducted fan, a 2840-KV3150 brushless motor and a 40A ESC, the F/A-18 offers stable handling, precise control inputs and an ideal flight profile for those new to EDF jets. The aerodynamic airframe ensures both visual authenticity and flight efficiency, making this a standout entry-level model in the FMS line-up.
Historical Background
The F/A-18 Hornet is a supersonic, multi-role fighter aircraft developed by McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) for the United States Navy. Renowned for its versatility, the Hornet is capable of operating as both a fighter and an attack aircraft, excelling in air-to-air, air-to-ground and air-to-sea missions.
First flown in 1974 and entering service in 1983, the F/A-18 became the U.S. Navy's primary carrier-based fighter following the retirement of the F-14 Tomcat in 2006. Its combat-proven reliability, agility and adaptability have made it a cornerstone of naval aviation worldwide.
