FMS 1700mm F4U Corsair V3: Iconic Warbird, Refined Performance
The inverted gull wings of the Vought F4U Corsair are among the most iconic silhouettes of the Second World War and the Korean War. Celebrated for its blistering speed, rapid climb rate, survivability and formidable firepower, the Corsair earned an astonishing 11:1 kill-to-loss ratio against Japanese fighters in the Pacific theatre.
Engineering Excellence
The FMS 1700mm F4U Corsair V3 builds on this legendary heritage with a modern, high-performance model aircraft. Powered by a robust 6S power system, a Hobbywing 80A ESC, a 5060 motor and an 11x18 four-blade propeller, the Corsair V3 delivers an exceptionally broad flight envelope. It combines adrenaline-fuelled high-speed passes with surprisingly gentle slow-speed handling, making it one of the easiest large-scale warbirds to fly.
Structural Innovation
The airframe features a removable two-piece wing that is simple to attach and connect. FMS's innovative multi-pin plug system reduces complex wiring to a single connection per wing, eliminating the clutter often associated with traditional models. The screw-together assembly and plug-type wing connectors ensure quick and hassle-free setup.
Scale Detail, Inside and Out
FMS is committed to producing the most visually accurate warbirds on the market. The Corsair V3 includes an array of realistic features, such as pitot tubes, missile racks, auxiliary fuel tanks, aerials, exhausts, and a detailed pilot figure. The large cockpit is fully adorned with dials and levers, and the hand-painted pilot completes the authentic look. A chrome spinner and reinforced nylon four-blade propeller add to the striking appearance while contributing to its nickname, Whistling Death.
Unmatched Realism and Functionality
Rotating electric retracts, three-position flaps, navigation and landing lights, and slow-retracting gear bay doors further enhance the realism. Shock-absorbing metal landing gear with bearing-equipped wheels not only improves ground handling but also reduces airframe stress during landings — even on unpaved strips.
Flight Precision
All control surfaces are managed by fast, metal gear servos with excellent centring performance, delivering smooth and responsive flight control. The combined result is a model that offers finesse rarely seen in a warbird of this scale and category.
Own a Legend
Whether you're displaying it on the flight line or pushing it through high-G manoeuvres, the FMS 1700mm F4U Corsair V3 delivers a truly thrilling warbird experience. Turn heads at your local field with this show-stopping tribute to a wartime legend — a must-have for every warbird enthusiast.
