Overview
The E-flite 9.5 x 7.5 CW Left Propeller is a precision-engineered painted propeller designed for RC aircraft that specify this popular size and pitch combination. This clockwise-rotation propeller features a distinctive black finish with eye-catching red and white tip markings, making it easy to identify during flight operations. Whether you're operating an RC plane UK enthusiasts trust or maintaining a fleet of aircraft, having the correct propeller size and rotation direction is essential for optimal performance and safety.
This left propeller is specifically engineered to rotate clockwise (CW), which means it's designed for the corresponding motor and gearbox configuration on your aircraft. The 9.5-inch diameter and 7.5-inch pitch are industry-standard dimensions that suit a wide range of electric RC aircraft models, particularly those in the E-flite Beechcraft D18 range and similar general aviation designs. The painted finish with contrasting tip colours is not merely cosmetic; it serves the practical purpose of helping you visually track the propeller rotation during flight, which is invaluable for diagnosing any mechanical issues or simply enjoying clearer visibility of your model in the air.
E-flite, a recognised leader in the RC hobby, manufactures this propeller to exacting standards. For RC enthusiasts in the UK and beyond, choosing the correct replacement or upgrade propeller is crucial. This CW left propeller is straightforward to install when your aircraft requires a 9.5 x 7.5 specification, combining E-flite's trusted engineering with an easy-to-spot colour scheme that makes identification and visual tracking simple during operation.
Key Features
- Clockwise Rotation (CW) Design — This propeller is engineered to rotate clockwise, which means it must be paired with a motor and gearbox assembly configured for CW rotation on the aircraft's left side or corresponding position, ensuring balanced flight and correct thrust direction.
- 9.5-Inch Diameter and 7.5-Inch Pitch — These are industry-standard dimensions that suit a wide variety of electric RC aircraft models, providing the correct blade area and attack angle for efficient thrust generation and stable flight characteristics across a range of speed envelopes.
- Painted Black Finish with Red and White Tips — The high-visibility tip markings make the propeller easy to track visually during flight, which is essential for monitoring rotation, diagnosing potential vibration issues, and simply enjoying better visibility of your model's operation in the air.
- E-flite Quality Construction — Built by E-flite, a trusted manufacturer in the RC hobby with a reputation for precision engineering, this propeller is manufactured to consistent standards that ensure compatibility and reliable performance when installed on compatible aircraft.
- Left Propeller Configuration — Specifically designed as a left propeller for CW rotation, making it the correct choice when your aircraft documentation specifies a 9.5 x 7.5 CW left propeller, eliminating guesswork and ensuring you have the exact component needed.
Technical Performance
The E-flite 9.5 x 7.5 CW Left Propeller represents the intersection of proven aerodynamic design and practical RC hobby engineering. At 9.5 inches in diameter, this propeller generates substantial blade area to move air efficiently across the motor's load range, whilst the 7.5-inch pitch determines the theoretical forward distance the aircraft would travel in one complete propeller revolution under ideal conditions. This pitch-to-diameter ratio is optimised for a broad spectrum of electric RC aircraft, from trainer models to more capable general aviation designs. The painted finish isn't simply for aesthetics; it provides practical benefit by offering visual contrast that allows pilots to observe propeller rotation characteristics during flight. The black base colour with red and white tip markings creates a high-contrast scheme against typical sky backgrounds, enabling you to monitor whether the propeller is turning smoothly and at the expected speed. For RC aircraft enthusiasts in the UK and globally, propeller condition and correct specification are critical factors in flight safety and performance. The CW (clockwise) rotation designation is essential; this propeller must be installed on an aircraft motor and gearbox configured for clockwise rotation. Installation on a counter-clockwise (CCW) motor would result in incorrect thrust direction and unstable flight. E-flite's manufacturing process ensures consistent blade balance and symmetry, which directly translates to reduced vibration, smoother power delivery, and more predictable handling characteristics during flight.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does the 9.5 x 7.5 specification mean? — The first number (9.5) refers to the propeller's diameter in inches, which determines the blade area and reach. The second number (7.5) is the pitch in inches, describing how far the propeller theoretically advances per complete revolution. Together, these dimensions define the propeller's aerodynamic characteristics and are essential specifications for matching to your specific aircraft model.
- What is the difference between CW (clockwise) and CCW (counter-clockwise) propellers? — CW propellers rotate clockwise when viewed from behind the aircraft, whilst CCW propellers rotate counter-clockwise. These are not interchangeable; installing the wrong rotation direction will result in incorrect thrust direction and unstable or unpredictable flight behaviour. Always verify your aircraft's specification before purchasing.
- Is this propeller suitable for my E-flite aircraft? — This propeller is designed for E-flite aircraft that specify a 9.5 x 7.5 CW left propeller in their documentation. The E-flite Beechcraft D18 and similar models in that range are compatible. Always check your aircraft's manual or specification sheet to confirm the exact propeller size and rotation direction required.
- Why are the propeller tips painted red and white? — The contrasting colour scheme serves a practical purpose: it allows you to visually monitor propeller rotation during flight. You can observe whether the propeller is spinning at the expected speed, turning smoothly, or experiencing any unusual vibration or hesitation. This visual feedback is valuable for assessing aircraft health and flight characteristics.
- What makes this an upgrade over my existing propeller? — If your current propeller is damaged, cracked, or has become unbalanced, replacement with a new E-flite propeller ensures you're installing a component manufactured to exacting standards. The painted finish provides better visibility than some alternative propellers, and E-flite's quality control ensures consistent blade balance and performance characteristics.
- Is this propeller suitable for beginners? — This is a straightforward replacement or upgrade propeller suitable for any RC aircraft pilot. Installation is simple: most designs involve unscrewing the existing propeller and installing this one in its place. No special tools or technical knowledge beyond basic aircraft maintenance is required. However, always ensure you have the correct propeller specification for your aircraft before installation.
