Technical Performance
The Team Associated AS91417 Caster and Steering Blocks represent precision engineering focused on maintaining the exact front-end geometry critical to consistent RC car performance. These components work together as part of the steering assembly to translate your radio transmitter input into precise wheel positioning and caster angle, which directly affects how your RC car responds to steering inputs, how evenly your tyres wear, and how predictable your vehicle feels during acceleration and braking. The caster angle — the forward tilt of the steering axis — is fundamental to directional stability and self-centering of the steering, while the steering blocks themselves provide the pivot points and geometry that determine the relationship between your servo movement and wheel turning angle. When these blocks wear, developing play or losing their dimensional accuracy, the entire steering system becomes sloppy and imprecise, manifesting as sluggish steering response, inconsistent handling characteristics, and unpredictable behaviour at speed. The AS91417 blocks are manufactured to exact specifications ensuring they restore your vehicle to factory geometry immediately upon installation. Team Associated's engineering excellence in these small but critical components reflects the company's commitment to precision throughout their entire range, from budget-friendly platforms to serious competition-grade vehicles. Whether you're running on a clay oval, carpet track, dirt course, or rocky terrain, the steering system depends absolutely on properly maintained caster and steering blocks — making the AS91417 one of the most important spares you can keep on hand. The part integrates seamlessly with Team Associated's suspension systems, drivetrain assemblies, and chassis designs, with all dimensions optimised for proper clearance, alignment, and durability. For users of 1/10-scale Team Associated vehicles, which represent the most popular and extensively developed category in the company's catalogue, these blocks have been proven across countless competitive seasons and casual use environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which Team Associated RC models do these caster and steering blocks fit? — The AS91417 blocks are compatible with an extensive range of Team Associated vehicles including the ProSC10, Rat, Reflex DB10, Trophy Rat, DR10, SR10, RB10, Pro2 SC10, and many other models across the company's 1/10-scale and other platforms. Always match the part number with your specific vehicle's manual to confirm fitment for your model.
- Do I need any additional parts to install these caster and steering blocks? — For most Team Associated models, the AS91417 blocks install directly as a replacement set. However, if you own a T5M or SC5M model, you will also need axle AS71127 to properly use these blocks. Consult your vehicle's manual or contact us for specific fitment advice for your particular RC car.
- How do I know when my steering blocks need replacement? — Common signs of worn caster and steering blocks include loose or sloppy steering feel, difficulty maintaining straight-line tracking, uneven tyre wear, sluggish steering response, or play in the front end when the vehicle is at rest. If you notice any of these characteristics, replacing the blocks with fresh AS91417 parts will typically restore precise steering feel and geometry.
- Are these genuine Team Associated parts? — Yes, the AS91417 is a genuine OEM part manufactured by Team Associated to exact specifications. Using official Team Associated parts ensures perfect compatibility, proper fit, and performance equivalent to your vehicle's original equipment, unlike aftermarket alternatives that may introduce fitment issues or geometric inconsistencies.
- How difficult is it to replace caster and steering blocks? — Replacement is generally straightforward if you're experienced with basic RC car maintenance and have access to a manual for your specific model. The blocks are core components of the steering assembly, so following your vehicle's manual instructions carefully is essential. If you're new to RC car maintenance, we recommend consulting the manual or contacting us for guidance.
- What is the difference between caster blocks and steering blocks? — Caster blocks control the caster angle (the forward tilt of the steering axis) and affect directional stability and self-centering; steering blocks provide the pivot geometry that translates servo movement into wheel turning angle. The AS91417 includes both components as an integrated set, ensuring your entire front-end geometry is restored to factory specifications with a single part number.
