- Foam Inserts Included — Each pair comes complete with two foam inserts, eliminating the need for a separate purchase and ensuring you have everything needed to mount these tyres on your 1.55-inch wheels immediately.
- Lightweight Construction — At just 2.18 ounces (62 grams) each, these tyres keep your RC model's overall weight down, contributing to better performance, quicker acceleration, and improved battery runtime on the trail.
- Enhanced Traction Performance — The combination of soft compound and aggressive tread design delivers confident grip in technical driving situations, whether you're crawling over obstacles or maintaining control on slippery terrain.
- Scale Authenticity — These tyres look and perform like scaled-down versions of genuine off-road rubber, adding to the realism and appeal of your RC crawler for both display purposes and authentic scale-style driving.
Technical Performance
The RC4WD Scrambler Offroad 1.55" Scale Tyres represent the intersection of performance engineering and realistic scale design. Constructed from RC4WD's Advanced X2 SS compound—a formulation specifically developed to provide exceptional grip without sacrificing durability—these tyres deliver the confidence-inspiring traction that serious RC crawlers and trail runners demand. The Super Soft and Super Sticky nature of this compound means the tyres will conform to uneven terrain, grip around obstacles, and maintain contact with the ground even when navigating technical features like rocks and roots. The 43.5-millimetre tread width provides a substantial contact patch, critical for distributing weight evenly and preventing the tyres from sinking into soft terrain. The 97.5-millimetre overall diameter, combined with the 39.3-millimetre inner diameter, ensures these tyres fit perfectly on 1.55-inch wheels designed for scale RC models. At 62 grams per tyre, the weight is kept minimal without compromising tyre integrity, meaning your RC model remains responsive and efficient. The tread design itself is not arbitrary—it has been developed to mimic full-size off-road tyres while optimising the surface area in contact with the ground to maximise grip. Whether you're navigating rocky terrain, mud, grass, or technical crawling courses, these tyres provide consistent, predictable grip that allows drivers to push their limits with confidence.

Compatibility Notes
RC4WD tyres and wheels are engineered to work seamlessly together, and the Scrambler Offroad tyres are no exception. The manufacturer suggests compatibility with RC4WD Vapor 1.55" Beadlock Wheels (Z-W0206) and other RC4WD 1.55-inch wheel systems. These tyres are also suitable for use with the RC4WD Gelande II Truck Kit with D90 Body Set (Z-K0001) and comparable scale crawler platforms. While RC4WD tyres may work with other manufacturers' wheels in some cases, the company notes that due to variations in design methods used by different manufacturers, outcomes may vary. For guaranteed fit and optimal performance, pairing these tyres with RC4WD's own 1.55-inch wheel systems is recommended. If you are considering using these tyres with non-RC4WD wheels, we recommend contacting our expert team at RC Model Shop for specific compatibility advice.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these RC4WD Scrambler Offroad tyres suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. While these are premium-specification scale tyres designed for serious crawling and trail running, they are not difficult to use or maintain. Beginners will benefit from the excellent grip and predictable handling these tyres provide, which can actually make learning to drive an RC crawler easier and more enjoyable. The foam inserts are included, so you don't need additional purchases to get started.
- What wheels do these Scrambler Offroad tyres fit? — These tyres are designed for 1.55-inch scale wheels. They work exceptionally well with RC4WD's own wheel range, particularly the Vapor 1.55" Beadlock Wheels. While they may fit other manufacturers' 1.55-inch wheels, RC4WD recommends using RC4WD wheels for guaranteed compatibility and optimal performance. We can provide specific compatibility guidance if you have questions about your particular wheel choice.
- What is the Advanced X2 SS compound and why does it matter? — Advanced X2 SS stands for Advanced X2 Super Soft and Super Sticky, which is RC4WD's proprietary tyre compound formula. The Super Soft nature means the rubber remains pliable and flexible even in cold conditions, maintaining grip when lesser tyres would harden and slide. The Super Sticky formulation provides exceptional adhesion to terrain surfaces, translating to dramatically improved traction. This compound is specifically designed for scale crawling and trail running, where grip and controlled deformation are more important than extreme durability or speed performance.
- How much do these tyres weigh and does it matter? — Each tyre weighs 2.18 ounces (62 grams). This lightweight construction is important because it reduces your RC model's overall weight, which translates to better performance characteristics including quicker acceleration, improved handling, and extended battery runtime during trail sessions. Lighter tyres also mean less rotational mass, allowing your RC model to respond more quickly to inputs from the transmitter.
- What is the tread width and overall diameter of these tyres? — The Scrambler Offroad tyres measure 43.5 millimetres (1.69 inches) in tread width and 97.5 millimetres (3.84 inches) in overall diameter. The tread width provides a large contact patch for maximum grip, whilst the 97.5-millimetre diameter fits perfectly on 1.55-inch scale wheels, providing authentic proportions that enhance the realism of your scale crawler build.
- Do these tyres come with inserts? — Yes, the Scrambler Offroad tyres are supplied as a pair with two foam inserts included. This means you have everything you need to mount these tyres on your 1.55-inch wheels without purchasing additional components. The foam inserts are pre-matched to these specific tyres for optimal performance.
- Are these tyres good for muddy terrain? — Excellent question. The Advanced X2 SS compound and aggressive tread design make these tyres outstanding for muddy and soft terrain. The Super Soft compound allows the rubber to deform and conform to soft ground, whilst the tread pattern self-clears mud and maintains grip. Mud doesn't stick to these tyres as easily as it would to lesser-quality rubber, helping you maintain traction throughout your trail run.
- How do these compare to other 1.55" scale tyres? — The Scrambler Offroad tyres stand out due to RC4WD's Advanced X2 SS compound, which is specifically formulated for scale crawling rather than speed or racing. The combination of Super Soft and Super Sticky properties, the wide 43.5-millimetre tread, and the precision engineering mean these tyres deliver superior grip and control compared to basic generic replacement tyres. They are purpose-built scale products rather than compromises between different applications.
