Overview

The Savox SC1258TGB+ is a premium high-torque coreless digital servo designed specifically for competitive RC car racing and serious hobbyists across the UK. This limited edition Black Edition servo represents the pinnacle of Savox engineering, combining cutting-edge technology with an aesthetically stunning all-black finish that appeals to modern RC racers who demand both performance and style. Whether you're upgrading your 1/10 scale buggy or setting up a competition-grade steering servo, this is a servo that delivers exceptional results.

Savox listened directly to racer requests when developing the Black Edition range, recognising that today's RC vehicles feature sleek black aesthetics ranging from moulded carbon components to black aluminium accessories. The SC1258TGB+ continues this design philosophy with a striking black anodised aluminium centre case, laser-etched details, and a shorter 200mm all-black leaded wire that integrates seamlessly into any modern RC car setup. This isn't just about looks—the premium black finish also signals the quality and engineering excellence housed within.

Packed with 12-bit (4096) resolution digital processing and boasting an incredible 0.08 second transit time at 6.0V, this servo is redefining what an all-around servo should be capable of in the RC car UK market. The 12kg of torque at 6.0V (166.6 oz-in) makes it suitable for demanding steering applications, whilst the lightweight coreless motor design keeps power consumption to a minimum, ideal for battery-conscious racers. This is a genuine upgrade from comparable priced servos and represents exceptional value for serious RC enthusiasts.

Key Features

  • Black Aluminium Centre Case — The sleek black anodised aluminium case isn't merely cosmetic; it provides superior heat dissipation compared to standard plastic cases, allowing the servo to maintain cooler operating temperatures during extended racing sessions. This thermal management is crucial for consistent performance during competitive events and extended runtime.
  • Shorter 200mm All-Black Leaded Wire — The pre-fitted 200mm cable reduces clutter in your RC car's servo compartment and matches the all-black aesthetic perfectly. The shorter length also minimises signal interference and makes installation cleaner in confined spaces typical of 1/10 scale buggies and touring cars.
  • 12-Bit (4096) Digital Resolution — This super-high resolution digital processing provides unprecedented precision and accuracy in servo positioning. Higher resolution means smoother, more responsive steering control, which is essential for maintaining precise cornering angles during competitive racing and practice sessions.
  • Titanium and Aluminium Gears — The combination of titanium and aluminium gearing ensures exceptional durability whilst keeping weight to an absolute minimum at just 52.4g. These premium materials resist wear and stripping far better than standard brass gears, extending the servo's operational lifespan even under constant racing stress.
  • Coreless Motor Design — The coreless motor technology provides incredibly high speed response and exceptional efficiency with remarkably low power consumption. This design reduces electrical losses, allowing the servo to perform at peak levels whilst drawing less current from your LiPo battery, extending flight or run time for RC car racers.
  • Outstanding Torque Output — With 12kg of torque at 6.0V (166.6 oz-in), this servo delivers the muscle needed for responsive, confident steering control even under demanding racing conditions. This power-to-weight ratio is exceptional, ensuring your RC car responds instantly to control inputs without lag or hesitation.
  • Rapid 0.08 Second Transit Time — At 6.0V, this servo completes a 60-degree movement in just 0.08 seconds, providing the lightning-fast response times that competitive RC car racers demand. This speed translates directly to sharper, more immediate steering corrections on track.
  • Lightweight Construction — Weighing just 52.4g (excluding wires and horns), this servo won't negatively impact your RC car's weight distribution or handling characteristics, making it ideal for precision setups where every gram matters.
  • 25-Tooth Spline Output — The standard 25-tooth spline fits virtually all modern RC car servo horns, ensuring broad compatibility with your existing fleet of vehicles and replacement horns without requiring expensive adapters.
  • Dual Ball Bearings — The 2BB bearing configuration ensures smooth, frictionless output shaft rotation, reducing internal resistance and enhancing overall servo responsiveness and longevity through reduced wear on moving components.

Technical Performance

The Savox SC1258TGB+ represents a significant leap in servo technology for the competitive RC car UK market. Built around a coreless brushless motor operating at refresh rates up to 333 Hz, this servo delivers performance specifications that rival servos costing considerably more. The servo operates across a wide voltage range, delivering 9.6kg of torque at 4.8V (0.10 second transit time) and scaling up to an impressive 12kg of torque at 6.0V (0.08 second transit time), making it perfectly suited to 2S LiPo battery systems commonly used in RC cars. The aluminium centre case with integrated heat-sinking properties ensures thermal stability during prolonged use, whilst the titanium and aluminium gear set maximises strength-to-weight ratio. With operating temperatures ranging from -10°C to +50°C, this servo performs reliably across various UK climate conditions and environments. The servo's stall current rating of 5000mA at 6.0V indicates robust power handling capability, whilst the remarkably low idle current of just 5mA means virtually no power drain when the servo is stationary. The servo accepts pulse widths from 800 to 2200 microseconds, with a neutral position of 1500 microseconds and maximum travel capability of approximately 130 degrees, providing the operational envelope needed for precise RC car steering applications. This combination of engineering excellence, premium materials, and meticulous design makes the SC1258TGB+ an exceptional choice for anyone serious about RC car performance.
