Overview
The FTX Ball Bearing (7*11*3) with plastic cover (FTX-BB011) is an essential replacement and upgrade part for RC car enthusiasts across the UK. Whether you're maintaining your existing RC model, restoring a classic build, or upgrading your RC car UK setup for improved performance, this precision bearing is the perfect solution. Ball bearings are critical components in any remote control car, enabling smooth rotation of shafts and axles whilst minimising friction and wear. The plastic cover design protects the bearing from dust, dirt and debris — a crucial feature for RC cars used in outdoor bashers and off-road conditions.
FTX is renowned for manufacturing high-quality spare parts that match the exacting standards of their complete RC vehicles. This bearing is designed for reliability and precision, making it suitable for both casual weekend hobbyists and serious RC enthusiasts looking to maintain their vehicles in peak condition. With dimensions of 7mm inner diameter, 11mm outer diameter and 3mm thickness, this bearing is engineered to fit the specific requirements of various FTX models and compatible RC vehicles.
If you own an FTX RC car or are looking for quality replacement bearings for your ready to run RC vehicle, the FTX-BB011 represents excellent value and genuine OEM reliability. Keep your RC car running smoothly and efficiently by replacing worn bearings before they compromise your vehicle's performance.
Key Features
- Precision Ball Bearing Design — The 7x11x3mm dimensions are engineered for smooth, low-friction rotation in critical drivetrain locations, ensuring your RC car maintains optimal performance and responsiveness during high-speed runs and technical manoeuvres.
- Plastic Cover Protection — The plastic cover seals the bearing whilst remaining lightweight, protecting internal ball bearings from dust, dirt, moisture and debris commonly encountered during outdoor RC driving sessions, extending bearing lifespan significantly.
- OEM FTX Quality — As an official FTX spare part, this bearing meets the manufacturer's strict quality standards and tolerances, guaranteeing compatibility and reliable performance across multiple FTX RC models and compatible vehicles.
- Easy Installation — Designed for straightforward replacement, these bearings can be swapped quickly without special tools or expertise, making maintenance and repairs accessible to RC enthusiasts of all skill levels.
- Universal Application — Compatible with numerous FTX models including the Banzai, Bugsta, Carnage, Comet, DR8, Edge, EVO30, Kanyon, Mauler, Mini Outback variants, Outback range, Siege, and many others, making this a versatile spare part for your RC collection.
- Affordable Spare Part — Priced competitively at £8.99 including VAT, this genuine FTX bearing offers excellent value for money compared to replacing entire drivetrain assemblies, making maintenance cost-effective and economical.
Technical Performance
The FTX Ball Bearing (7*11*3) represents professional-grade engineering in a compact spare part. With an inner bore diameter of 7mm and outer diameter of 11mm, combined with a 3mm thickness, this bearing is precisely calculated to fit critical locations within FTX RC car drivetrains. The plastic cover design provides superior protection compared to open bearings whilst maintaining minimal weight penalty. Ball bearings function by using precisely manufactured steel balls held in a cage, which roll along hardened races to enable smooth rotation with dramatically reduced friction compared to plain bushings. This low-friction operation directly translates to better power delivery, improved efficiency, extended battery runtime on electric RC cars, and enhanced overall performance during driving sessions. The bearing's sealed design means it will continue performing reliably even after exposure to mud, water splashes and dusty terrain — common conditions for RC off-road cars and rock crawlers in the UK. Regular bearing inspection and replacement as part of routine RC car maintenance ensures your vehicle operates at peak efficiency and prevents secondary damage to surrounding components that could result from bearing wear and failure.

- Why should I replace my bearings regularly? — Ball bearings wear over time, especially when exposed to dust, moisture and the vibrations inherent in off-road RC driving. Worn bearings increase friction, reduce efficiency, drain battery power faster, and create drag that affects acceleration and handling. Replacing bearings as part of routine maintenance is significantly cheaper than repairing damage caused by bearing failure, such as bent axles or stripped gears that result from increased play and friction.
- What is the advantage of plastic-covered bearings? — The plastic cover seals the bearing cavity, preventing dirt, mud and water ingress whilst being much lighter than metal shields. This balance between protection and weight efficiency makes plastic-covered bearings ideal for RC cars used in varied outdoor conditions across the UK, from dry park racing to muddy trail driving.
- Are these genuine FTX parts? — Yes, the FTX-BB011 is an official FTX spare part manufactured to OEM specifications. When you purchase from RC Model Shop, you receive genuine parts backed by the manufacturer's quality assurance, ensuring proper fit and reliable performance in your RC vehicle.
- Do I need any special tools to install this bearing? — Installation is straightforward and typically requires only basic tools commonly found in any RC enthusiast's workbench. Most RC cars use simple bearing press-fit design or retaining clips, making replacement accessible even to newcomers to the RC hobby.
