Whether you're a seasoned RC car UK competitor or a hobbyist exploring the world of RC customisation, this digital servo delivers the speed and torque needed for responsive, accurate steering and control inputs.
Weighing just 17.5 grams, the Etronix ET2016 micro servo combines cutting-edge digital control technology with a durable metal geartrain, all housed in a lightweight plastic case. Its compact dimensions of 30.0 x 12.0 x 31.7mm make it ideal for installations where space is at a premium, whilst its impressive specifications ensure it won't compromise on performance. The servo offers a fast 0.11 second transit speed across a 60-degree arc at 6.0V, paired with a respectable 3.5kg-cm torque rating that provides reliable force delivery for your RC model's steering or other control surfaces.
Every Etronix servo arrives complete with everything you need to get started immediately. A full selection of servo horns, mounting rubbers, and hardware is included in the box, so you can fit this servo to your RC application without purchasing additional accessories. This makes the ET2016 an exceptional value proposition for builders looking to upgrade their ready to run RC models or assemble custom setups.
Key Features
- Digital Micro Servo with Metal Gears — The combination of digital control circuitry and a metal geartrain ensures this servo responds quickly to control inputs whilst maintaining durability through extended use, making it ideal for high-frequency adjustments required in competitive RC racing or precision control tasks.
- Ultra-Lightweight Design at 17.5g — This feather-light weight means minimal impact on your RC model's overall mass and centre of gravity, which translates to improved acceleration, handling, and battery life in comparison to heavier servo alternatives.
- Exceptional Speed: 0.11 Seconds at 6.0V — The rapid 0.11-second transit time across 60 degrees delivers the instantaneous response required for sharp steering inputs and smooth control transitions, a critical specification for anyone serious about RC performance.
- Strong Torque Rating of 3.5kg-cm — Despite its compact size, this servo generates sufficient torque to control steering mechanisms reliably, ensuring your RC model responds predictably even when pushing through challenging terrain or at high speeds.
- Compact 30.0 x 12.0 x 31.7mm Footprint — The diminutive dimensions make this servo suitable for installation in tight engine bays, cockpits, and chassis areas where standard-sized servos simply won't fit, without sacrificing power or speed.
- Complete Accessory Package Included — A full selection of servo horns allows you to choose the perfect arm length and style for your application, whilst mounting rubbers isolate vibration and reduce stress on the servo case, and hardware fasteners ensure secure installation every time.
- Plastic Case Construction — The durable plastic case keeps weight to a minimum whilst still protecting internal components from dust, moisture, and mechanical damage during typical RC operation.
Technical Performance
The Etronix ET2016 represents a thoughtfully engineered balance between size, weight, and performance capability. Operating at 6.0 volts, this digital servo achieves a transition speed of 0.11 seconds across a 60-degree arc, placing it firmly in the fast-response category suitable for demanding RC applications. The metal geartrain construction is particularly significant; metal gears offer superior durability and wear resistance compared to plastic alternatives, ensuring this servo maintains its performance characteristics over hundreds of hours of use in competitive or recreational RC car UK environments. The 3.5kg-cm torque specification indicates this servo can handle moderate steering loads without stalling, making it appropriate for 1/16 and 1/18 scale RC vehicles, small crawlers, and various precision robotics applications. The servo's 17.5-gram weight places it among the lightest micro servos available, making it an excellent choice for weight-conscious builds where every gram matters for performance and efficiency. The plastic case keeps overall heft down whilst providing adequate protection for the internal digital control circuitry and motor assembly. The inclusion of comprehensive servo horns and mounting hardware means users can adapt this servo to virtually any control surface geometry or mounting configuration required by their specific RC model, eliminating the need for expensive third-party accessories.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Etronix ET2016 suitable for beginners building their first custom RC car? — Absolutely. This servo is beginner-friendly because it arrives with all necessary mounting accessories and hardware, removing the guesswork from installation. The straightforward digital control system requires only a basic servo connector to your RC receiver, and the included horns provide flexibility for various mounting configurations. Whether you're upgrading a ready to run RC model or building from scratch, this servo simplifies the process considerably.
- What makes the metal geartrain construction better than plastic? — Metal gears offer substantially greater durability and resistance to wear compared to plastic alternatives, which is particularly important in high-frequency servo applications. Metal gears can withstand repeated rapid movements and maintain consistent performance over thousands of cycles, whereas plastic gears can strip or degrade over time. For anyone serious about reliability in their RC setup, metal gears represent a significant upgrade.
- What voltage does this servo operate at, and what battery connector type does it use? — The Etronix ET2016 operates at 6.0 volts, which is the standard for most RC receiver battery packs used in small-scale RC cars and drones. The servo features a standard connector compatible with most RC receivers and servo leads, though you should verify compatibility with your specific RC receiver before purchase. A 2S LiPo battery (7.4V nominal) can be used with a voltage regulator if your receiver doesn't already provide one.
- How does this servo compare to other micro servos on the market? — The ET2016 distinguishes itself through its combination of speed (0.11s is exceptionally fast for a micro servo), torque (3.5kg-cm is respectable for its size), metal geartrain construction, and included accessory package. Many competing micro servos either sacrifice speed for torque or vice versa; this Etronix model maintains good balance across both metrics whilst adding the durability advantage of metal gears.
- What type of RC models is this servo suited for? — The Etronix ET2016 is ideal for 1/16 and 1/18 scale RC vehicles, small RC crawlers, micro RC buggies, and various precision control applications including robotics. Its compact size and light weight make it unsuitable for larger 1/10 scale vehicles, but within its intended application range it delivers excellent performance and reliability.
- Will this servo work with my existing RC radio system and receiver? — As long as your RC receiver has a standard servo port and outputs the appropriate control signals, this servo will function. The ET2016 uses a standard three-wire servo connector (signal, positive, ground) compatible with virtually all modern RC receivers, whether they operate at 4.8V or 6.0V nominal.
