Overview

The Volantex Vector 80 Receiver V2208 is a precision RC receiver designed for modellers who demand reliability and performance in their fixed-wing aircraft and RC models. This V2 version represents an evolution in receiver technology, offering enhanced compatibility and dependable signal reception for serious RC enthusiasts across the UK. Whether you're flying fixed-wing model planes, drones, or other RC applications, the V2208 receiver provides the stable, responsive control that separates a great flight experience from a frustrating one. The V2 iteration builds on proven receiver design principles, making it an excellent choice for both experienced RC pilots looking to upgrade their equipment and hobbyists seeking a replacement receiver they can trust.

As a dedicated RC receiver, the Volantex Vector 80 V2208 is engineered to maintain crystal-clear communication between your RC radio transmitter and your aircraft throughout your entire flight. Reception quality is absolutely critical in RC flying—a momentary loss of signal or lag in control response can mean the difference between a perfect landing and a crash. This receiver has been developed with that reality in mind, offering the kind of dependable performance that RC model enthusiasts demand when they're investing in their hobby.

RC Model Shop stocks the Volantex Vector 80 Receiver V2208 as part of our extensive range of RC spares and components. If you're building a new fixed-wing RC model plane, restoring a beloved aircraft, or upgrading an existing setup, having access to quality receiver components is essential. The V2208 represents the kind of precision engineering that transforms an RC project from adequate to exceptional.

Key Features

  • V2 Design Specification — The V2 designation indicates this is the second generation of this receiver design, incorporating refinements and improvements based on real-world flight testing and user feedback. This means you're purchasing a mature, proven receiver rather than an experimental design.
  • Dedicated RC Receiver Application — Engineered specifically as a receiver unit, the V2208 integrates seamlessly into RC systems where dedicated receiver modules are the standard. This specialised design allows for optimised signal processing and control response compared to multi-purpose electronics.
  • Compatible with RC Radio Systems — Designed to work with standard RC radio transmitter systems, the V2208 receiver receives signals from your RC remote control transmitter and converts them into precise servo commands that control your aircraft's flight surfaces.
  • Compact Form Factor — The receiver's compact size makes it suitable for installation in a wide variety of RC aircraft, from small trainer planes to larger fixed-wing models, without consuming excessive space or weight in your fuselage.
  • Signal Stability — Built to maintain reliable signal reception throughout your flight envelope, the V2208 receiver minimises the risk of signal loss or control lag that could compromise your flight safety and enjoyment.
  • Established Volantex Quality — Volantex is a recognised manufacturer in the RC model plane market, known for producing accessible, reliable equipment that represents good value for money across their product range.

Technical Performance

The Volantex Vector 80 Receiver V2208 represents solid engineering in RC receiver design. As a dedicated receiver module rather than an all-in-one flight controller or integrated system, it focuses on doing one job exceptionally well: receiving radio signals and converting them into servo commands. The V2 designation confirms this is a refined version of the design, likely incorporating improvements to signal processing algorithms, antenna design, or component selection based on field experience. The receiver is designed to integrate with standard RC radio systems commonly used in fixed-wing aircraft across the UK hobby market. In practice, this means you'll connect it to your RC transmitter on the ground during binding, then install it in your aircraft where it will continuously monitor the radio link and drive your servos in response to your control inputs. The compact dimensions and relatively light weight make installation straightforward in most fixed-wing airframes, from small foam trainer planes to balsa sport flyers. Build quality in Volantex receivers is typically solid, with proper shielding and component selection to maintain signal integrity even in the presence of electromagnetic interference from onboard electronic components like brushless motor controllers and digital servos.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is the Volantex Vector 80 V2208 receiver suitable for beginners? — Yes, the V2208 is an excellent choice for RC pilots of all skill levels. If you're building your first fixed-wing RC model plane or replacing a failed receiver in an existing aircraft, the V2208 offers straightforward integration and reliable performance. The V2 design refinements mean you're getting the benefit of lessons learned from countless hours of real-world flying, making it a particularly good choice for someone starting out in RC aviation.
  • What RC transmitter systems does this receiver work with? — The Volantex Vector 80 Receiver V2208 is designed to work with standard RC radio systems. You'll need to verify that your specific RC transmitter is compatible—check the frequency band and control protocol. If you're unsure about compatibility with your existing equipment, the team at RC Model Shop can advise you on whether a particular transmitter and receiver combination will work together.
  • Can I use this receiver in different types of RC aircraft? — The V2208 is a dedicated RC receiver designed for use in fixed-wing aircraft and RC models where a receiver module is the appropriate choice. Its compact size makes it suitable for a wide range of airframes, from small foam trainer planes to larger balsa or composite models, provided that your aircraft has space for receiver installation and uses standard servo connections.
  • What is the difference between the V2 version and earlier receiver designs? — The V2 designation indicates this is the second generation of the Volantex Vector 80 receiver. Typically, V2 versions incorporate improvements such as better signal processing, enhanced antenna design, improved component quality, or faster response times based on feedback from the RC community. If you're upgrading from an older receiver, you can expect the V2208 to offer a more modern, refined experience.
  • How do I install the V2208 receiver in my RC aircraft? — Installation varies depending on your specific aircraft design, but generally you'll mount the receiver in a location with good antenna clearance, connect it to your battery or receiver pack for power, and then connect your servos or speed controller outputs to the appropriate receiver channels. Always consult your aircraft's assembly instructions and your receiver manual for specific guidance on installation and binding procedures.
