Key Features
- Aluminium 7075 Construction — This premium aerospace-grade aluminium alloy is selected for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio, making it significantly more durable than standard aluminium whilst remaining lightweight enough to reduce drivetrain strain and improve overall RC car performance.
- M0.6 Module Specification — The M0.6 module rating indicates precise tooth geometry that ensures perfect mesh with compatible motor pinions and spur gears, delivering smooth power transmission without noise, vibration, or gear slip during acceleration or under load.
- 29-Tooth Configuration — This tooth count provides an ideal balance between acceleration and top speed for a wide range of RC applications, making it versatile enough for crawlers, buggies, trucks and other RC vehicle types that use M0.6 gearing systems.
- Fastrax Engineering Quality — Fastrax is a recognised manufacturer of precision RC components used by hobbyists and competitors alike, ensuring this pinion gear meets strict tolerances and quality standards that guarantee reliable performance.
- Direct Replacement Part — Designed as a replacement or upgrade component, this pinion gear fits directly into compatible RC drivetrain systems without requiring modifications or additional adapter parts.
Technical Performance
The Fastrax M0.6 29T Aluminium 7075 Pinion Gear represents precision engineering designed to enhance RC car performance and reliability. Manufactured from 7075-grade aluminium, one of the most advanced alloys available in RC components, this pinion gear offers exceptional durability and strength without adding unnecessary weight to your RC vehicle's drivetrain. The M0.6 module specification ensures perfect compatibility with matching spur gears and motor pinions, delivering smooth, efficient power transmission that minimises drivetrain losses and maximises acceleration response. With 29 teeth, this configuration strikes an optimal balance suitable for various RC applications, whether you're running a brushless RC crawler, an electric buggy, or any other M0.6 gear-equipped RC car. The precision manufacturing process ensures each tooth is cut to exact specifications, eliminating wobble and gear noise whilst promoting even load distribution across the entire gear mesh. This attention to quality engineering means longer component lifespan, more predictable performance, and less frequent replacement cycles — making it an economical choice for serious RC enthusiasts who demand reliability from their equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What RC cars use M0.6 pinion gears? — The M0.6 module specification is used across a wide range of RC vehicles in the UK hobby, including Element Enduro models, HPI crawlers, Mugen vehicles, Rival MT10 trucks, Tamiya models, Team Associated RC cars, Team Losi vehicles, Traxxas models including the TRX-4, and Axial Racing crawlers. Check your RC car's specification sheet or manual to confirm your model uses M0.6 gearing before purchasing.
- Why choose 7075 aluminium over standard steel pinion gears? — Aluminium 7075 offers superior strength compared to lower-grade materials whilst remaining significantly lighter, which reduces strain on your RC motor and ESC, improves acceleration response, and extends the lifespan of your entire drivetrain system.
- How do I know if I need a 29-tooth pinion gear? — The tooth count you need depends on your desired gear ratio and the spur gear in your RC car's drivetrain. A 29-tooth pinion provides mid-range performance suitable for balanced acceleration and speed; higher tooth counts reduce speed but improve acceleration, whilst lower counts increase top speed but reduce torque.
- Is this pinion gear suitable for brushless RC cars? — Yes, the Fastrax M0.6 29T Pinion Gear is compatible with brushless RC vehicles that use M0.6 gearing systems. Brushless motors deliver significantly more power than brushed motors, so ensure your drivetrain components are rated for the increased loads.
- How often will I need to replace this pinion gear? — With proper maintenance and setup, a quality 7075 aluminium pinion gear like this one can last for hundreds of hours of RC use. Lifespan depends on driving conditions, motor power, and gear mesh setup; regular inspection and lubrication extend component life significantly.
- What is the difference between this and cheaper pinion gear alternatives? — This Fastrax component is manufactured to precision tolerances using aerospace-grade 7075 aluminium, ensuring consistent performance and durability. Cheaper alternatives often use lower-grade materials that wear faster, create more noise, and can slip under load or damage spur gears prematurely.
