Technical Performance
The Etronix Futaba(2.1+) Charger Lead ET0277 is engineered with attention to the practical needs of RC enthusiasts who demand reliability from their spare parts. The 22AWG wire gauge has been selected as the industry standard for transmitter charging applications, offering the right balance between current-carrying capacity and physical flexibility. At 60 centimetres in length, the lead provides sufficient reach for most pit box and workshop charging setups without introducing unwanted cable length that could create safety hazards or tripping risks. The PVC wire insulation is designed to provide years of reliable service even in the challenging environment of outdoor RC racing and flying events, where temperature fluctuations, UV exposure, and physical handling put equipment under constant stress. The Futaba 2.1+ connector is a widely used standard across Futaba's transmitter range, making this an essential part for any RC enthusiast with compatible radio gear. Built to straightforward specifications without unnecessary complexity, this charger lead focuses on delivering exactly what you need: a safe, reliable connection between your charger and your Futaba transmitter battery. Frequently Asked Questions
- Is the Etronix Futaba(2.1+) Charger Lead compatible with my transmitter? — This lead is specifically designed for Futaba transmitters equipped with a 2.1+ charge connection port. If your Futaba radio has this standard connector, this lead will be compatible. We recommend checking your transmitter manual or contacting our team at RC Model Shop if you're unsure about your specific model's compatibility.
- Why do I need a spare charger lead for my RC transmitter? — Charger leads can become damaged through regular use, wear, or accidental damage in the pit box or workshop. Having a spare ensures you never miss a race or flying session due to a faulty charging lead. Many serious RC competitors keep multiple spares to guarantee their radio is always ready for action.
- What is the advantage of the 22AWG wire gauge? — The 22AWG specification is the industry standard for transmitter charging applications. It provides sufficient current capacity for safe charging whilst remaining flexible enough to route easily through your workspace. It's a balance point between thicker, stiffer cables and thinner wires that might risk overheating during charging.
- Can I use this lead for anything other than charging my transmitter? — This lead is specifically designed and engineered for Futaba transmitter charging applications. Using it for other purposes may compromise safety or functionality. We recommend using appropriate leads for each specific application in your RC setup.
- How long should a PVC charger lead last? — With proper care and storage, the PVC insulation should provide several years of reliable service. The lifespan depends on usage frequency and storage conditions. Keep it away from sharp objects, extreme heat, and direct sunlight when not in use to maximise longevity.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Yes, absolutely. Whether you're new to RC or an experienced competitor, a spare charger lead is a sensible addition to your spare parts collection. There's nothing complicated about this component—it simply connects your charger to your transmitter battery.
