Overview

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 700 CPS is a premium suspension fluid designed for RC enthusiasts in the UK who demand precision and consistency in their shock absorber setup. Whether you're fine-tuning a competitive racing RC car, RC buggy, or simply maintaining your RC hobby vehicles, this European-manufactured shock oil delivers the exact viscosity control you need to dial in your suspension perfectly. At 700 centiStokes (cSt), this medium-weight silicone oil sits in the middle of Corally's comprehensive range, making it suitable for a wide variety of applications and driving conditions across different RC scales.

Manufactured and bottled in Europe to the highest standards, Corally's Ultra Pure Silicone Shock oils represent a significant investment in quality and reliability. Every single production batch is rheometer calibrated—a scientific measurement process that ensures the viscosity is accurate to industry specifications—guaranteeing consistency from bottle to bottle and batch to batch. This level of quality control is essential for serious RC racers and dedicated hobbyists who understand that suspension tuning can make or break a competitive performance. For anyone serious about getting the most from their RC model shop purchases, this shock oil is an indispensable consumable.

The 60ml bottle format is ideal for most RC enthusiasts, providing enough material to fill multiple shock absorbers or to experiment with different viscosity grades as you develop your suspension tuning expertise. The intelligent flip-top cap with drop-by-drop dispensing ensures you can apply the oil with precision, whilst the viscosity indication label on the cap keeps you organised if you're testing multiple weights during your RC car tuning sessions.

Key Features

  • Ultra Pure Silicone Formulation — This shock oil is manufactured from 100% pure silicone, free from contaminants and additives that could affect suspension performance or degrade over time, ensuring your RC car maintains consistent handling characteristics through extended racing sessions.
  • 700 cSt Viscosity Rating — The 700 centiStokes measurement represents a medium viscosity grade that suits a broad range of RC applications, suspension weights, and track conditions, making it an excellent choice for experimenting and fine-tuning your setup without committing to extreme thicknesses.
  • Rheometer Calibrated Every Batch — Each production run is scientifically tested using precision rheometer equipment to verify exact viscosity, meaning you can trust that every bottle meets the advertised 700 cSt specification without variation between purchases or batches.
  • European Manufacturing and Bottling — Produced and packaged in Europe using strict quality control protocols, guaranteeing authenticity and consistency that you simply cannot achieve with inferior imported alternatives purchased from generic online retailers.
  • Drop-by-Drop Flip Top Cap — The precision flip-top dispenser allows controlled, measured application of the shock oil, preventing waste and ensuring you can apply exactly the right amount to each shock absorber without spillage or mess.
  • Temperature Stable Performance — The formulation maintains consistent viscosity across a range of temperatures, meaning your suspension setup won't drift between winter and summer driving conditions or between indoor and outdoor RC racing environments.
  • Viscosity Indication Label on Cap — A clearly printed label on the bottle cap identifies the viscosity grade at a glance, essential when you're building a collection of different weights for comparison testing and suspension development.
  • 60ml / 2oz Content — The generous 60ml bottle size provides sufficient volume for filling multiple shock absorbers or conducting extensive viscosity testing, with enough reserves for future suspension adjustments without immediately needing to reorder.

Technical Performance

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 700 CPS represents a mid-range viscosity option within Corally's comprehensive shock oil lineup, which spans from thin 100 cPs through to thick 1000 cPs with numerous grades in between. At 700 cSt, this formulation provides a balanced compromise between responsive suspension action and adequate damping for most RC car scales and driving styles. The rheometer calibration process employed by Corally ensures that the actual viscosity matches the published specification precisely, eliminating batch-to-batch variation that can plague cheaper imported alternatives. This consistency is absolutely critical for serious RC enthusiasts and competitive racers, as even minor viscosity deviations can alter suspension compliance and affect lap times. The 100% pure silicone composition resists oxidation and degradation, maintaining performance characteristics throughout the oil's service life. Temperature stability is engineered into the formulation, so whether you're running your RC buggy in summer heat or winter cold, the suspension response remains predictable and tunable. The European manufacture and quality assurance processes confirm that this is not a generic or compromised product, but rather a purpose-built suspension fluid designed specifically for precision RC applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What viscosity grade should I choose for my RC car suspension? — Corally offers shock oils ranging from 100 cPs through to 1000 cPs to suit different applications. The 700 cPs grade is a versatile middle option suitable for many RC cars and driving styles. Thinner oils (100-300 cPs) provide softer, more responsive suspension for technical tracks; medium oils (500-700 cPs) suit general-purpose racing and bashing; thicker oils (900-1000 cPs) provide maximum damping for high-speed running or rough terrain. Start with 700 cPs and experiment with adjacent grades to fine-tune your setup.
  • Why is rheometer calibration important in shock oil? — Rheometer calibration is a scientific measurement process that verifies the actual viscosity of the oil matches the advertised specification. This ensures batch-to-batch consistency, meaning every bottle of 700 cPs oil you purchase will perform identically, allowing accurate suspension tuning without mysterious handling changes between refills.
  • Can I mix different viscosity grades of shock oil? — Whilst it's technically possible to blend oils of different viscosities, doing so introduces unpredictability into your suspension tuning. Professional RC racers maintain separate bottles of different grades and test them individually to understand exactly how each affects their car's handling, so we recommend purchasing specific weights rather than blending.
  • How long does a 60ml bottle last? — A typical RC shock absorber holds roughly 15-20ml of oil, meaning a single 60ml bottle can fill approximately three to four complete shock sets. The frequency of replacement depends on your use—casual hobbyists might use one bottle per season, whilst competitive racers testing and refining suspension setups may go through multiple bottles.
  • Is this shock oil suitable for all RC scales? — Yes. Corally's Ultra Pure Silicone shock oils are formulated for use across all RC scales from 1/10 and 1/8 scale RC buggies and trucks through to larger scales. The 700 cPs grade is particularly versatile and works well across most popular RC car types without requiring specialist heavy-duty or ultra-light formulations.
  • Will this shock oil degrade or oxidise over time? — The pure silicone formulation resists oxidation and degradation, maintaining performance characteristics throughout the oil's service life when stored in a cool, dry location away from direct sunlight. Unlike inferior mineral oils, this premium formulation won't thicken or thin significantly with age.
  • What makes Corally's shock oil different from cheaper alternatives? — Corally invests in rheometer calibration for every production batch, ensuring scientific accuracy and consistency. The formulation is 100% pure silicone manufactured and bottled in Europe under strict quality control, eliminating the batch-to-batch variation and inconsistent viscosity that plague cheaper imported shock oils from generic online retailers.
