Overview
The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 500 CPS is a premium suspension fluid designed for serious RC enthusiasts and competitors who demand precision performance from their RC models. Whether you're running a competitive 1/10 scale buggy, a bashful monster truck, or any RC vehicle with adjustable shock absorbers, this European-manufactured silicone oil delivers the consistency and reliability you need for optimal suspension tuning. This is an essential consumable for any RC car UK setup, allowing you to fine-tune your vehicle's handling characteristics with absolute precision.
Corally's commitment to quality is evident in every bottle. Each production batch is rheometer calibrated to ensure the highest possible consistency and quality from batch to batch, meaning you'll get identical performance whether you're purchasing your first bottle or your tenth. The 500 CPS viscosity sits in the medium range of Corally's comprehensive lineup, making it suitable for a wide variety of applications and driving conditions. For RC enthusiasts in the UK looking to upgrade their suspension setup or maintain their existing shocks, this shock oil represents outstanding value and reliability.
Temperature stability is critical when tuning RC suspensions, and this ultra-pure silicone formulation maintains its viscosity characteristics across a wide temperature range, ensuring consistent handling whether you're racing in summer heat or winter cold. The convenient 60ml bottle size is perfectly proportioned for regular maintenance and adjustments without wastage, and the drop-by-drop flip top cap gives you precise control when filling or adjusting your shocks.
Key Features
- Ultra Pure 100% Silicone Formulation — This shock oil is manufactured from 100% pure silicone, ensuring clean operation without additives that could interfere with suspension performance or damage seals, delivering maximum reliability in your RC shocks.
- Rheometer Calibrated Every Batch — Each production batch undergoes rigorous rheometer calibration at the manufacturing facility to guarantee consistent viscosity across all bottles, meaning your suspension will respond identically whether you buy one bottle today or another next month.
- 500 CPS Viscosity Rating — The 500 cSt (centistoke) viscosity places this oil in the medium range of available options, making it suitable for general-purpose suspension tuning and ideal for most standard RC car applications without specialised requirements.
- Temperature Stable Performance — This silicone oil maintains its viscosity characteristics across a wide temperature range, ensuring your suspension behaves consistently whether you're driving in cold winter conditions or hot summer heat, critical for competitive RC racing.
- European Manufactured and Bottled — Produced and bottled in Europe under strict quality control, this shock oil meets high manufacturing standards and is easily traceable from production to delivery, offering peace of mind about quality and authenticity.
- Precision Drop-by-Drop Flip Top Cap — The intelligent cap design allows single-drop application for fine-tuning adjustments, preventing spillage and waste whilst giving you absolute control over the exact amount of oil you're adding to your shocks.
- Viscosity Indication Label on Cap — The cap features clear viscosity marking, making it immediately obvious which oil is in each bottle, preventing confusion when you're managing multiple viscosity options for different driving conditions or vehicles.
- 60ml Professional Bottle Size — The 60ml (2oz) capacity is perfectly sized for regular maintenance and multiple suspension adjustments without excessive leftover stock, ideal for both hobbyists and regular competitors.
- Comprehensive Viscosity Range Available — Corally manufactures this shock oil in the complete range from thin 100 cPs up to thick 1000 cPs with numerous intermediate stages, allowing you to find the exact viscosity needed for your specific vehicle and driving style.
Technical Performance
The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 500 CPS represents the pinnacle of suspension fluid engineering for RC models. At 500 cSt (centistokes), this medium-viscosity oil strikes an excellent balance between responsive handling and shock stability, making it versatile enough for bashful weekend driving whilst remaining precise enough for competitive RC racing. The ultra-pure silicone formula is engineered specifically for shock absorbers, where consistency and temperature stability are paramount. Unlike lower-grade oils that may thin out in heat or thicken in cold, this temperature-stable formulation maintains predictable behaviour across varying conditions — essential when you're trying to dial in your RC car UK setup for maximum performance. The European manufacturing process ensures that every batch meets identical specifications through rheometer calibration, a critical quality control measure that means you can confidently adjust your shocks knowing that any viscosity differences between bottles are negligible. The 100% pure silicone composition prevents seal damage and internal corrosion that can occur with lower-quality or mixed-composition oils, extending the lifespan of your shock absorbers. The drop-by-drop cap system allows micron-level precision adjustments, perfect for competitive tuning where tiny adjustments can make measurable differences in lap times and handling balance.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does 500 CPS viscosity mean and is it right for my RC car? — CPS (centipoise) is the industry-standard measurement of oil thickness. 500 cSt is a medium viscosity, thinner than thick oils like 1000 cPs but thicker than thin options like 100 cPs. It's suitable for most general-purpose RC vehicles and standard driving conditions, though you may want thinner oil for faster circuits or thicker oil for heavy bashers or rough terrain. Corally's full range from 100 cPs to 1000 cPs means you can find your perfect match.
- How often should I change or adjust my shock oil? — Shock oil should be inspected regularly for cleanliness and replaced if it becomes contaminated with dirt or debris. For performance tuning, many RC racers adjust viscosity based on track conditions, weather, and driving style. A 60ml bottle provides multiple adjustment opportunities without wasteful excess.
- Is this shock oil suitable for all RC vehicles? — This shock oil is designed for any RC model with adjustable shock absorbers, including 1/10 scale buggies, monster trucks, short course trucks, and other vehicles with dampers. Always consult your vehicle manual to confirm compatibility before use.
- Why is this more expensive than other shock oils I've seen? — Corally's ultra-pure formula and batch-by-batch rheometer calibration ensure consistent, reliable performance. Lower-cost alternatives may not maintain viscosity consistency or may contain additives that compromise seal longevity. For competitive RC racing, the precision and reliability of this oil more than justify the investment.
- What is the difference between 500 CPS and other viscosity options? — The viscosity number indicates thickness. 500 CPS is medium — slower-reacting than 100 CPS (thin) but more responsive than 1000 CPS (thick). Choose based on your track conditions and preference: thinner for higher speed circuits or smoother surfaces, thicker for heavy vehicles, rough terrain, or slow technical sections.
- How do I know which viscosity I need? — Most RC vehicles come with a recommended shock oil viscosity in the manual. Start there, then adjust based on driving feel. If shocks feel too soft and bouncy, go thicker; if they feel harsh and unresponsive, go thinner. Many competitors keep multiple viscosity options available.
- Is this European manufacture important? — Yes. Corally's European manufacturing ensures strict quality control, consistent production standards, and full traceability from factory to your hands. Each batch undergoes rheometer calibration, something not all manufacturers do, guaranteeing viscosity consistency that precision RC racing demands.
