Key Features
- Coreless Motor Design — Unlike traditional coil-based servo motors, the coreless construction eliminates cogging and dead zones, delivering completely smooth, linear response across the full range of motion. This translates directly to more precise steering input and improved lap consistency for RC car UK racers.
- Titanium Gears — Titanium is significantly stronger and more durable than standard steel gears, allowing the servo to handle higher torque loads and reducing wear during aggressive steering inputs. This material choice ensures the servo maintains peak performance through thousands of racing cycles without degradation.
- Ball Raced Construction — The servo shaft is supported by ball bearings rather than plastic bushings, dramatically reducing friction and enabling faster response times. Ball bearings also provide superior durability and consistency, essential qualities for reliable RC car performance in competitive environments.
- High Voltage Operation (6.0V - 8.4V) — The servo operates across a wide voltage range, allowing you to optimise performance for your power system. At higher voltages, you gain increased speed and torque, making this servo compatible with both standard and high-voltage battery configurations used in modern RC racing setups.
- Full CNC Machined Aluminium Case — Every component is precision-engineered from start to finish, with the robust aluminium housing providing superior rigidity and structural integrity. This manufacturing approach ensures consistent quality and allows the servo to withstand the vibration and impacts of serious track racing.
- Digital Technology — Digital servo electronics deliver faster processor speeds and more frequent position updates compared to analogue servos, resulting in snappier response times and more predictable handling characteristics for your RC vehicle.
- Water Resistant Sealed Design — The rubber-sealed construction protects internal components from moisture and dust ingress, making this servo suitable for racing in wet conditions or muddy environments common in UK RC clubs.
- Ultra High Speed Performance — With response times as fast as 0.05 seconds at 60 degrees travel on 8.4V, this servo ranks amongst the fastest standard-size servos available, delivering instantaneous steering response that competitive racers demand.
Technical Performance
The Corally CS-5016 HV represents a significant engineering achievement in high-performance servo design. At its core sits a coreless motor—a technology that eliminates the traditional armature coil wrapped around an iron core, replacing it with a lightweight coil suspended in the magnetic field. This design completely eliminates cogging and delivers extraordinarily smooth, consistent torque throughout the servo's full range of motion. The motor connects to a titanium gear train supported by ball bearings rather than plastic bushings, creating a drivetrain that's both faster and more durable than conventional servo mechanisms. Every gear has been CNC machined to precise tolerances, ensuring zero backlash and maximum power transfer from motor to output horn.
Performance specifications vary based on input voltage, allowing you to tailor the servo's characteristics to your specific needs. Operating at 6.0V, the servo achieves response times of 0.07 seconds per 60 degrees of travel with a torque output of 11.8 kg/cm—already excellent for most racing applications. Step up to 7.4V (the voltage of a fully charged 2S LiPo battery), and you gain 0.06-second response with 14.4 kg/cm of torque. Push all the way to the servo's maximum operating voltage of 8.4V, and you unlock 0.05-second response times paired with 16.5 kg/cm of torque. This voltage-dependent performance scaling means competitive RC car racers can dial in the exact balance of speed versus power needed for their specific track conditions and driving style. The servo's digital electronics process input signals at speeds far exceeding analogue servo technology, enabling rapid course corrections and delivering the crisp, immediate steering response that separates championship drivers from the rest of the field.
The complete aluminium case construction provides superior structural rigidity compared to plastic housings. The case is not merely cast—it's machined from solid aluminium stock using CNC equipment, ensuring perfect dimensional consistency and eliminating the porosity and weak points inherent in cast construction. This precision engineering creates a servo that maintains mechanical consistency throughout its operational life, crucial for maintaining competitive advantage over hundreds of racing heats and endurance events. The 72-gram weight represents a perfect balance between performance and practicality, light enough to minimise unsprung mass yet substantial enough to house the robust mechanical systems required for reliable high-performance operation.
