Overview
The Corally Ball Bearing ABEC 3 3x6x2.5mm (2 pcs) is an essential maintenance and upgrade component for RC enthusiasts across the UK who demand reliable performance from their radio control vehicles. Whether you're running a high-speed RC buggy, a competitive RC car, or any RC model that relies on precision ball bearings for smooth operation, these genuine Corally bearings deliver the durability and consistency you need to keep your vehicle performing at its peak. As a critical spare part for RC racing and recreational bashing, quality ball bearings are fundamental to maintaining smooth axle rotation, reducing friction, and ensuring your RC model stays competitive on the track or track.
Ball bearings are among the most important wear items in any RC car, truck, or buggy. Over time, dust, dirt, and the stresses of high-speed operation can degrade standard bearings, leading to increased friction, reduced top speed, and premature component failure. That's why investing in quality replacement bearings like the Corally ABEC 3 range is so important for serious RC hobbyists. These bearings are engineered to tight tolerances and manufactured to consistent standards, ensuring that every pair you install performs reliably and maintains the responsiveness your RC model deserves.
Available now from RC Model Shop, this two-piece pack provides excellent value for maintaining or upgrading your RC vehicle's bearing set. Whether you're a weekend basher enjoying RC cars for fun or a competitive racer pushing your machine to the limit, having quality spare bearings on hand is essential for keeping downtime to a minimum and maximising your track or field time.
Key Features
- ABEC 3 Precision Grade — These bearings are manufactured to ABEC 3 precision standards, which means they are engineered with tight dimensional tolerances and superior concentricity, delivering smoother rotation and lower friction compared to standard bearings. This translates directly to faster acceleration, better handling, and improved overall performance in your RC car or truck.
- 3x6x2.5mm Dimensions — The compact 3x6x2.5mm size is ideal for use in numerous RC vehicle applications, making these bearings a versatile addition to any RC hobbyist's spare parts collection. These dimensions fit commonly used axle positions in many popular RC models.
- Two-Piece Pack — This product includes two precision ball bearings per pack, providing a convenient quantity for replacing a pair of axle bearings or maintaining a stock of spares. The two-piece configuration means you can service both sides of an axle with a single purchase.
- Genuine Corally Manufacturing — Corally is a recognised and respected manufacturer within the RC hobby community, known for producing quality components that meet strict performance and reliability standards. When you choose Corally bearings, you're choosing components engineered and tested by professionals who understand RC racing.
- Extended Component Lifespan — By replacing worn bearings with quality Corally ABEC 3 units, you protect other drivetrain components from premature wear. Better-running bearings reduce stress on motors, gears, and transmission systems, extending the overall life of your RC vehicle investment.
- Reduced Friction Performance — ABEC 3 rated bearings feature lower friction characteristics than lower-grade alternatives, which means your RC motor works more efficiently, translating to better battery runtime and improved acceleration response during both racing and recreational use.
- Stock Availability — With seven units in stock at RC Model Shop, you can order with confidence knowing we have this essential component ready to dispatch quickly, keeping your RC hobby on track without extended waiting times.
Technical Performance
Ball bearings are precision-engineered mechanical components designed to minimise friction and support rotating shafts in RC vehicles. The Corally ABEC 3 specification represents a mid-range precision classification that offers an excellent balance between performance and affordability for RC hobbyists. ABEC ratings (Annular Bearing Engineers' Committee) measure geometric tolerances and runout accuracy; ABEC 3 bearings are manufactured to tighter specifications than standard bearings, resulting in more concentric bore and outer races that rotate with minimal vibration. At 3x6x2.5mm, these bearings feature a 3mm inner diameter and 6mm outer diameter with a 2.5mm width, making them suitable for small-scale RC vehicle applications where space is limited but precision is crucial. The radial ball bearing design allows these components to support both radial and moderate thrust loads, a critical requirement in RC drivetrains where axles experience constant directional changes and acceleration forces. Quality ball bearings like the Corally ABEC 3 reduce rotational resistance, which translates to measurably improved performance: your RC car will accelerate faster, maintain higher top speeds, and exhibit better handling characteristics because less energy is wasted overcoming friction. For competitive RC racers pushing their vehicles hard on track, or for weekend bashers who want their RC model to perform reliably lap after lap, regular bearing maintenance using quality components like these Corally units is essential. The manufacturing precision of ABEC 3 bearings also means reduced noise during operation and more predictable handling, factors that matter greatly in competitive RC racing where every millisecond and every ounce of grip count.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does ABEC 3 mean and why does it matter for my RC car? — ABEC 3 is a precision grade classification that measures how accurately the bearing's internal races and balls are manufactured. ABEC 3 bearings have tighter tolerances than standard bearings, which means they roll smoother, create less friction, and last longer under the demanding conditions of RC racing. For an RC car, smoother bearings mean better speed, improved handling, and more efficient use of your battery's power.
- How often should I replace bearings on my RC vehicle? — Bearing replacement frequency depends on how frequently you use your RC model and the conditions you race or bash in. Dusty or sandy environments cause faster bearing wear. We recommend inspecting your bearings regularly and replacing them when you notice increased friction, grinding sounds, or if your RC car's acceleration or top speed has noticeably decreased. Many competitive racers replace bearings every few months of regular use to maintain peak performance.
- Are these bearings suitable for high-speed RC cars? — Yes, absolutely. ABEC 3 precision bearings are suitable for high-speed RC applications. However, if you're running an ultra-high-performance competition RC car, you might eventually want to upgrade to higher-grade bearings such as ABEC 5 or ABEC 7 for even tighter tolerances, though ABEC 3 offers excellent value and performance for most RC hobbyists.
- Can I use these bearings as replacements for other 3x6x2.5mm bearings? — Yes, these Corally bearings will fit any RC vehicle that uses 3x6x2.5mm ball bearings. However, always verify the bearing size specifications in your RC model's manual before ordering. Using the correct size bearing is critical for proper fit and performance.
- Do I need any special tools to install these bearings? — Most bearing replacements require basic RC tools such as hex keys and screwdrivers to remove and reinstall the bearing carriers or axles. Some RC enthusiasts prefer using bearing pullers and installers for easier removal of pressed bearings, though these tools are not absolutely necessary for most installations if you work carefully.
- How do I know if my RC car's bearings need replacing? — Signs of worn bearings include grinding or squeaking sounds, visible rust or corrosion, reduced acceleration or top speed, or simply increased resistance when you manually spin the axles. If your RC model isn't performing as well as it used to, worn bearings are a likely culprit worth investigating.
- What is the difference between these Corally bearings and cheaper generic alternatives? — Corally is a respected manufacturer known for consistent quality and precision manufacturing. Budget bearings may have looser tolerances, inferior materials, or inconsistent quality, leading to premature failure, more friction, and ultimately worse RC performance. Investing in quality bearings like Corally components means better reliability, longer lifespan, and superior performance for your RC car.
