Recommended for ages 14 and upwards, this is a must-have spare or upgrade for anyone serious about their RC hobby in the UK.

Perfect for RC car enthusiasts, ready-to-run buyers and experienced modellers alike, the Radient Futaba HD Extension Lead offers the durability and reliability you'd expect from quality RC equipment. At just £1.71, it represents exceptional value for money and is an investment in the longevity and performance of your radio system setup.

Key Features

  • 800mm Total Length — Providing an 800mm extension including connectors, this lead gives you sufficient reach to position your receiver, servo connections and radio components precisely where they need to be in your RC model without strain on cables or connectors.
  • Male to Female Futaba Connector Configuration — The male-to-female Futaba connector design (black, white and red) ensures seamless compatibility with standard Futaba radio systems and allows you to extend existing connections whilst maintaining signal integrity for reliable operation.
  • 60-Strand Heavy Duty Construction — Engineered with 60-strand wire construction, this lead combines flexibility with durability, resisting the constant flexing and movement that occurs during RC car operation, track use and handling.
  • 22AWG Wire Gauge — The 22AWG wire specification ensures adequate current carrying capacity for reliable servo operation and signal transmission without voltage drop or interference issues that could compromise your RC car's performance.
  • Secure Connector Clip Included — The supplied connector clip securely holds the lead in place once connected, preventing accidental disconnection during bumps, crashes or vibration from high-speed RC driving, giving you peace of mind during operation.
  • Colour-Coded Design — Black, white and red colour coding provides immediate visual identification of each conductor, speeding up setup, troubleshooting and helping prevent wiring mistakes that could damage your receiver or servos.
  • 1.5mm Outer Diameter — The compact 1.5mm outer diameter keeps the lead slim and lightweight, minimising installation bulk in tight chassis spaces whilst remaining robust enough for professional RC use.
  • Lightweight and Portable — At just 0.02kg shipping weight, this extension lead is perfect for carrying in your pit kit, spares box or RC car bag for trackside repairs and modifications during racing or casual RC sessions.

Technical Performance

The Radient Futaba HD Extension Lead represents serious engineering focused on delivering reliable, interference-free connectivity for your Futaba radio system. The 22AWG wire gauge has been specifically selected to handle the current demands of modern RC servo systems without introducing voltage drop that could cause servo lag, glitching or loss of responsiveness — critical factors whether you're enjoying casual bashing with your ready-to-run RC car or competing at the highest levels of RC racing. The 60-strand wire construction provides the flexibility needed for routing through tight chassis spaces and around moving components, whilst the individual strands are fine enough to prevent sharp kinks that could damage conductor integrity. The 1.5mm outer diameter keeps the overall lead slim, making it ideal for tight installations in modern chassis designs where space is at a premium. The colour-coded black, white and red connectors follow industry standard Futaba conventions, ensuring immediate compatibility and reducing setup time. The included connector clip is a professional touch, preventing accidental disconnection during high-speed operation, track racing or the inevitable bumps and crashes that come with RC car ownership. Total length of 800mm (including connectors) provides genuine extension capability whilst remaining manageable for installation. This is quality equipment built to the standards expected by serious RC enthusiasts across the UK, from weekend bashers to competitive racers.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Is this extension lead compatible with my Futaba radio system? — Yes, the Radient Futaba HD Extension Lead features male-to-female Futaba connectors (colour-coded black, white and red) and is designed specifically for Futaba radio systems, making it fully compatible with all standard Futaba receivers and servo connections.
  • What is the 800mm length and is it enough for my RC car setup? — The 800mm total length (including connectors) provides substantial extension capability for positioning receivers, servos and radio components in your RC car, truck or chassis where needed. For most RC car applications, this length is sufficient, though you can use multiple leads in series if additional reach is required.
  • Why does this lead include a connector clip? — The included connector clip is a professional safety feature that securely holds the lead connection in place once plugged in, preventing accidental disconnection during RC car operation, crashes, vibration or track use. This is especially important during high-speed driving or competitive racing where loose connections could cause loss of servo control.
  • What does 22AWG wire gauge mean and why does it matter? — 22AWG refers to the wire thickness standard, which determines current carrying capacity and signal integrity. The 22AWG specification on this lead is specifically chosen to reliably handle servo currents without voltage drop or signal degradation, ensuring responsive servo operation and stable RC car control.
  • Is this suitable for beginners and first-time RC car buyers? — Yes, absolutely. The colour-coded connectors (black, white, red) make this extension lead easy to use for beginners, reducing the risk of wiring errors. The supplied connector clip adds safety by preventing accidental disconnection. If you own a Futaba radio-equipped RC car and need to extend your connections, this is a straightforward upgrade suitable for all experience levels.
  • What is the difference between this extension lead and others available? — The Radient Futaba HD Extension Lead combines several quality features: 60-strand construction for flexibility, heavy-duty 22AWG wire for reliable power delivery, colour-coded connectors for easy identification, an included security clip, and the reputation of Radient as a trusted RC accessory manufacturer. The 800mm length provides genuine utility for most RC applications, and the competitive price offers excellent value.
  • Can I use this lead with servos other than Futaba? — The male-to-female Futaba connector is the Futaba standard, so this lead will work with any receiver or servo equipped with compatible Futaba connectors. It may not be directly compatible with other connector types (such as JR, Spektrum or proprietary connectors) unless adapters are used.
  • Is the connector clip removable if I don't need it? — Yes, the connector clip can be removed if desired, though Radient recommends using it during operation to prevent accidental disconnection, especially during high-speed RC car driving or competitive use.
