Overview

The Corally Steel Screws M4 x 8mm Hex Button Head are essential fastening components for RC enthusiasts and hobbyists across the UK who demand quality and reliability in their models. Whether you're building a new RC car, maintaining a prized collection, or undertaking a complete restoration, having the right screws on hand is crucial to keeping your RC projects running smoothly. These precision-engineered steel screws are specifically designed to meet the demanding requirements of RC model assembly and repair work, offering the durability and performance that serious RC builders expect.

Manufactured by Team Corally, a trusted name in RC components and accessories, these hex button head screws represent the kind of attention to detail that separates professional-grade RC equipment from budget alternatives. The M4 x 8mm specification makes them suitable for a wide variety of RC applications, from electric RC cars and buggies to scale crawlers and competition machines. Available in a practical pack of 10 pieces, this product ensures you'll have spares available whenever you need them for your next build or repair project. Whether you're a seasoned RC enthusiast with an extensive fleet of models or someone just beginning to explore the rewarding world of radio-controlled vehicles in the UK, reliable fasteners are fundamental to success.

RC Model Shop stocks this essential component because we understand that quality spare parts and consumables are just as important as the vehicles themselves. Many RC hobbyists find themselves needing replacement screws during maintenance, upgrades, or after crashes and impacts. By keeping professional-grade fasteners like these in stock, we ensure that your RC projects never grind to a halt due to missing or damaged components. This is the kind of product that every dedicated RC builder should have in their workshop.

Key Features

  • Industrial Standard DIN 7380 Specification — These screws conform to the recognised DIN 7380 industrial standard for hexagon socket button head cap screws, ensuring they meet strict engineering tolerances and quality standards that RC professionals rely upon, which means you can trust their performance in critical assembly applications.
  • M4 Diameter Thread — The M4 thread size is perfectly proportioned for RC model construction, providing adequate clamping force without being oversized or causing stripped holes, making them ideal for mounting motors, servo mounts, suspension components and chassis elements on models ranging from 1/10 scale to larger formats.
  • 8mm Total Length — The 8mm length is precisely engineered to seat flush with standard RC component mounting points, preventing protrusion that could interfere with moving parts, suspension action, or body fitment whilst ensuring sufficient thread engagement for secure holding power.
  • Hex Button Head Design — The distinctive hex button head profile provides multiple benefits including excellent grip for hex key application, a low-profile aesthetic that sits flush against surfaces, and reduced risk of stripping compared to Phillips or slot-head alternatives commonly found in budget fastener packs.
  • High-Grade Steel Construction — Manufactured from durable steel rather than softer alternatives, these screws resist deformation, corrosion and stress cracking even under the repeated vibration, thermal cycling and mechanical stress that RC vehicles experience during normal operation.
  • Pack of 10 Pieces — The practical 10-piece quantity ensures you have spares for multiple projects, repairs, or replacements without excessive surplus, making this an economical choice for RC builders who maintain multiple vehicles or prefer to keep well-stocked workshop supplies.
  • Black Finish — The black colour provides a professional appearance whilst offering some level of corrosion resistance compared to bare steel, helping your completed projects maintain their aesthetic appeal across multiple seasons of use.

Technical Performance

These Corally steel screws deliver professional-grade performance that aligns with the exacting standards of competitive RC racing and serious hobbyist building. The M4 x 8mm specification provides the perfect balance between thread engagement depth and overall component size, allowing secure fastening of RC chassis mounting points, servo brackets, motor plates and other critical structural elements without the bulk or expense of larger fasteners. The hex button head design, compliant with DIN 7380 standards, ensures consistent quality and interchangeability with other professional RC components. The steel construction provides the tensile strength needed to withstand the high-frequency vibration that RC vehicles generate during acceleration, cornering and impact events. Unlike cheaper fastener options that can strip, loosen or fracture under stress, these screws maintain their integrity through extended use. The black finish offers surface protection against corrosion, which is particularly important for models exposed to moisture or stored in variable UK weather conditions. Whether you're assembling a new brushless 4WD RC buggy, maintaining a fleet of competition-grade vehicles, or working on restoration projects, these fasteners provide the reliability that distinguishes quality RC work from amateur attempts. The pack of 10 ensures you'll never find yourself short of spares when undertaking multiple builds or repairs.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are these screws suitable for all types of RC models? — The M4 x 8mm size makes these screws compatible with most electric and nitro RC cars, buggies, trucks and crawlers built to standard RC specifications. However, check your specific model's documentation to ensure M4 fasteners are appropriate for your vehicle's mounting points, as some larger-scale models or competition machines may require different sizes.
  • What makes hex button head screws better than other screw types? — Hex button head screws offer several advantages over Phillips head or slot-head alternatives commonly found in cheaper fastener packs. The hex socket design grips the hex key firmly without rounding or stripping, the button head provides a low profile that doesn't protrude, and the overall engineering is more robust under vibration. For serious RC work, they're the professional standard.
  • How many RC models can I service with one pack? — A pack of 10 screws can service multiple projects depending on application. Typically, a single RC car might use 2-4 of these screws for motor mounting or servo brackets, meaning this pack could service 2-5 complete builds or provide abundant spares for ongoing maintenance and repairs across your entire RC collection.
  • Are these screws corrosion resistant? — The black finish provides a basic level of corrosion resistance suitable for typical RC use in the UK climate. However, if your models are regularly exposed to salt water (like beach bashers) or stored in damp conditions for extended periods, you may want to store these in a dry environment and consider applying a protective coating to extended-use sets.
  • Can I use these screws for other applications beyond RC models? — Yes, as DIN 7380 compliant fasteners, these screws can be used for various general engineering and mechanical applications wherever M4 x 8mm hex button head screws are specified. However, ensure any non-RC application doesn't require specific material grades or certifications beyond standard steel.
  • How do I prevent these screws from loosening during use? — Whilst these screws feature a reliable design, vibration-prone RC applications benefit from the use of thread-locking compounds like Loctite. Apply a small amount of medium-strength thread-locker to the screw before installation to prevent loosening caused by the constant vibration of RC vehicle operation, particularly in high-stress mounting points.
