Overview

The Corally Shock Oil Ultra Pure Silicone 900 CPS is a premium suspension fluid engineered for RC enthusiasts who demand consistency and performance in their shock absorbers. Whether you're running an RC buggy, RC monster truck, or any other RC car in the UK, having the correct shock oil viscosity is crucial for tuning your suspension precisely. This 900 CPS formulation represents a medium-to-thick option in the Corally range, making it ideal for specific suspension setups that require this exact viscosity rating. Team Corally manufactures and bottles this oil in Europe to the highest quality standards, ensuring that every drop performs identically to the last.

RC racing and bashing demands perfection from every component, and shock oil is no exception. The viscosity of your shock fluid directly affects how your suspension responds to bumps, corners and high-speed impacts. Too thin and your shocks feel mushy; too thick and they become sluggish. This 900 CPS shock oil provides the precise damping characteristics needed for fine-tuned suspension behaviour, whether you're competing at the track or enjoying weekend bashings across varied terrain. If you've ever felt that your RC car's suspension wasn't quite right, shock oil viscosity might be the missing piece of the puzzle.

RC Model Shop stocks the complete range of Corally shock oils so you can experiment and dial in the perfect setup for your specific vehicle and driving style. With the 900 CPS option available, you're getting a reliable, European-manufactured product backed by Corally's reputation for quality.

Key Features

  • Ultra Pure Silicone Formulation — This shock oil is manufactured from 100% pure silicone, ensuring consistent viscosity characteristics and stable performance across temperature ranges. Pure silicone resists thermal breakdown and maintains its damping properties whether you're driving in cool UK weather or hot summer conditions.
  • 900 CPS Viscosity Rating — Measured in industry-standard centipoise (CPS) units, the 900 CPS specification positions this oil in the medium-to-thick range of the Corally lineup. This viscosity suits specific suspension setups and driving styles, providing balanced damping that works well for many RC buggy and truck configurations.
  • Rheometer Calibrated Batches — Each production batch is quality-checked using a rheometer, a precision instrument that measures fluid viscosity. This scientific approach guarantees consistency from batch to batch, so whether you buy your first bottle or your fifth, you're getting identically performing shock oil every time.
  • Temperature Stable Performance — The shock oil maintains its viscosity characteristics across a wide operating temperature range, so your suspension tuning remains consistent whether you're driving on a cool spring morning or in warmer conditions. This stability is essential for competitive RC racing where consistency is everything.
  • Convenient Drop-by-Drop Flip Top Cap — The precision flip-top cap design allows you to dispense shock oil drop by drop with complete control. No more wasting expensive oil or making mistakes with your shock filling. This feature is especially valuable when you're adjusting viscosity or refilling shocks during competition.
  • Viscosity Indication Label on Cap — The cap features clear labelling showing the 900 CPS viscosity rating, so you always know exactly what you're using and can quickly identify the correct bottle when you have multiple viscosity grades on your workbench.
  • 60ml Content in Convenient Bottle — The 60ml size (2oz) is the perfect amount for most RC enthusiasts, providing enough shock oil to fill and refill multiple vehicles without being excessive. The bottle is sized for easy storage and transport to the track or bashing location.
  • European Manufacture and Quality Control — Team Corally manufactures and bottles this oil in Europe using strict quality control procedures. This ensures you're receiving a genuine, quality product rather than potentially counterfeit or inconsistent oils that might be available elsewhere.
  • Complete Range Available — Corally's shock oil range spans from thin 100 CPS right through to thick 1000 CPS with numerous grades in between. This comprehensive selection means you can find exactly the viscosity your RC car needs, whether you require something thinner or thicker than the 900 CPS option.

Technical Performance

The 900 CPS shock oil represents a medium-to-thick viscosity option suitable for specific suspension tuning applications in RC vehicles. Team Corally's engineering approach focuses on purity and consistency as the foundation of performance. By using 100% pure silicone and subjecting every batch to rheometer calibration, Corally ensures that the shock oil delivers identical damping characteristics from bottle to bottle and batch to batch. This level of quality control is particularly important for RC competitors who need their suspension behaviour to be perfectly repeatable. The temperature stability of the formulation means your suspension tuning remains constant whether you're driving in cool UK autumn weather or during hot summer sessions. The viscosity is measured in CST (centistokes), which is the metric equivalent to CPS, with this 900 CPS formulation providing medium damping that suits many popular RC buggy and truck suspension configurations. The drop-by-drop flip-top cap delivers precise control over dispensing, which is critical when making small adjustments to shock oil levels or experimenting with different viscosity grades. For RC enthusiasts serious about suspension tuning and consistent performance, quality shock oil like this Corally product is as important as having good shocks and springs themselves.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What does 900 CPS mean and how is it different from other viscosity grades? — CPS stands for centipoise, an industry-standard measurement of fluid viscosity. The Corally range spans from 100 CPS (thin) to 1000 CPS (thick), with 900 CPS representing a medium-to-thick option. Thinner oils (lower CPS numbers) allow shocks to compress and extend more quickly, creating a softer suspension feel. Thicker oils (higher CPS numbers) resist movement more, creating a stiffer, more damped suspension. The 900 CPS grade is suitable for specific suspension setups and driving styles, particularly for RC buggies and trucks that need medium-to-stiff damping characteristics.
  • How do I know if 900 CPS is the right viscosity for my RC car? — The correct shock oil viscosity depends on your vehicle's suspension design, springs, driving style and track conditions. Many RC buggies and trucks use oils in the 600-1000 CPS range. If your suspension feels too soft and bouncy, you may need a thicker (higher CPS) oil. If it feels too stiff and doesn't absorb bumps well, you may need a thinner (lower CPS) oil. RC Model Shop stocks the complete Corally range, so you can experiment to find your ideal viscosity. Many RC competitors keep multiple viscosity grades on hand to fine-tune their setup for different conditions.
  • Is this shock oil suitable for all RC vehicles? — This shock oil is designed specifically for shock absorbers in RC cars, buggies, trucks and similar vehicles. It is not suitable for other applications. The 900 CPS viscosity works best with suspension systems engineered to use this thickness of oil, so check your vehicle manufacturer's recommendations before selecting a viscosity grade.
  • What is the difference between pure silicone and other shock oil types? — Pure silicone oils like the Corally product are preferred by serious RC enthusiasts because they offer superior temperature stability and consistent performance across a wide range of conditions. Silicone resists thermal breakdown, meaning it won't thin out in heat or thicken in cold as dramatically as some alternative oils. This stability is essential for competitive RC racing where suspension consistency is critical. The 100% pure silicone formulation in this Corally oil means there are no additives or fillers that might affect viscosity or performance.
  • How long does a 60ml bottle last? — This depends on how frequently you use your RC vehicles and whether you're constantly adjusting or refilling shocks. A single 60ml bottle can fill multiple shocks or provide numerous refills depending on shock size and design. Most RC enthusiasts find a 60ml bottle lasts several months of regular use, making it economical compared to buying multiple smaller bottles.
  • Why is batch-to-batch consistency important? — When you find the perfect shock oil viscosity for your RC car's suspension, you want to be able to buy the same product next month and have it perform identically. Team Corally uses rheometer calibration on every production batch to ensure this consistency. Without this quality control, you might find that different batches of shock oil perform differently, making it impossible to dial in your suspension properly. This is why many competitive RC drivers specifically choose Corally products.
  • Can I use this shock oil in other types of RC shock absorbers? — This product is designed for RC vehicle shock absorbers specifically. The 900 CPS viscosity and silicone formulation are engineered for typical RC damper designs. Always consult your vehicle's manual or manufacturer specifications to confirm the correct shock oil viscosity for your particular model, as different manufacturers may recommend different grades.
  • What temperature range does this shock oil perform well in? — The Corally shock oil is formulated to be temperature stable, meaning it maintains consistent viscosity across a wide range of operating conditions. This makes it suitable for RC driving in both cool UK autumn and spring weather as well as warmer summer conditions. The pure silicone formulation resists the viscosity changes that occur with less sophisticated oils, helping your suspension tuning remain consistent regardless of weather conditions.
  • Is the 900 CPS viscosity suitable for beginners or experienced RC drivers? — Shock oil viscosity selection depends on your specific vehicle and suspension setup rather than your experience level. However, many RC vehicles come with factory recommendations in the 500-1000 CPS range, making 900 CPS a reasonable choice for many setups. If you're new to RC cars and unsure what viscosity to use, contact RC Model Shop's knowledgeable team for guidance specific to your vehicle. We stock the complete Corally range so you can find the perfect match.
