Overview
The Corally Steel Screws M2 x 16mm Hex Socket Head are precision-engineered fasteners designed for RC enthusiasts and hobbyists who demand reliability and durability in their builds. Whether you're assembling a high-performance RC car in the UK, maintaining a competition-grade model, or replacing worn fasteners on your existing setup, these DIN912-standard steel screws provide the secure, dependable connection you need. Each pack contains 10 screws, making them ideal for spare parts inventory or as replacements during routine maintenance of your RC vehicle.
Built to DIN912 specifications, these hex socket head screws are manufactured from hardened steel and offer superior strength compared to standard alternatives. The M2 thread size combined with the 16mm length makes them perfectly suited for mid-range fastening applications on RC cars, buggies, trucks and other scale models. The black finish not only looks professional but also helps prevent corrosion, ensuring your fasteners maintain their integrity through countless hours of RC racing, bashing and off-road adventures.
RC Model Shop stocks a comprehensive range of Corally fastening solutions because we understand that quality components are essential to reliable RC performance. From weekend bashers to serious competitors in the UK RC hobby scene, choosing the right fastener size and material can mean the difference between a smooth-running model and frustrating mechanical failures. These M2 x 16mm hex socket head screws are a must-have addition to any RC spares box.
Key Features
- DIN912 Standard Construction — These screws meet the internationally recognised DIN912 specification, ensuring consistent quality, precise threading and reliable performance across all your RC projects and maintenance tasks.
- Hardened Steel Material — The steel construction provides exceptional strength and durability, resisting stripping and failure even under the vibration and stress of high-performance RC driving, making them far more reliable than softer alternatives.
- Hex Socket Head Design — The hex socket head allows for secure engagement with a 1.5mm hex driver, providing a clean, flush finish and reducing the risk of cam-out that can occur with Phillips or slot-head alternatives.
- M2 Thread Size — The M2 metric thread is a standard size across countless RC components, making these screws universally compatible with most RC car chassis, suspension mounts and body panels from leading manufacturers.
- 16mm Length — The 16mm length is ideal for mid-range fastening applications, providing sufficient grip while avoiding over-penetration that could damage delicate RC components or interfere with moving parts.
- Black Finish — The black coating helps protect the steel from corrosion and oxidation, extending the lifespan of your fasteners even when exposed to moisture, dirt and the harsh conditions of outdoor RC racing.
- Pack of 10 Pieces — Each pack contains 10 screws, providing excellent value and ensuring you always have spares on hand for repairs, upgrades or building multiple RC models without running short during assembly.
- Precision Manufacturing — Corally's quality control ensures that each screw is precisely manufactured to specification, eliminating the inconsistencies and variations found in cheaper fastener alternatives.
Technical Performance
These Corally Steel Screws represent a significant step up in fastening quality for RC hobbyists who take their builds seriously. The M2 x 16mm specification places them in the sweet spot for mid-range RC applications, where excessive length would interfere with components but undersized fasteners would lack adequate grip and holding power. The hardened steel construction ensures these screws can withstand the vibration and torsional stress inherent in RC vehicles, particularly during high-speed runs, jump landings and rough terrain bashing sessions. The DIN912 hex socket head standard guarantees that your 1.5mm hex driver will engage cleanly and securely every time, without the frustrating slippage and head stripping common with lower-quality fasteners. Unlike aluminium fasteners which can strip easily in repeated assembly and disassembly cycles, steel provides the durability needed for regular maintenance and upgrades. The black finish offers corrosion resistance, meaning these screws will maintain their appearance and functionality even when used in damp conditions or exposed to the salty environments of coastal RC flying and driving. Whether you're building a precision competition buggy, maintaining a high-horsepower monster truck, or restoring a vintage RC collection, these fasteners deliver the reliability and longevity that serious hobbyists demand.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Are these screws compatible with my RC car? — These M2 x 16mm hex socket head screws are compatible with virtually all modern RC vehicles that use M2 fasteners, including buggies, trucks, touring cars and short-course trucks from leading manufacturers. Check your model's parts list or measure existing fasteners to confirm compatibility before ordering.
- What size hex driver do I need? — These hex socket head screws use a 1.5mm hex (Allen key) driver. This is the standard size for M2 fasteners, and most RC maintenance kits and tool sets include a 1.5mm hex driver. If you don't have one, affordable metric hex driver sets are readily available from RC retailers in the UK.
- Why choose steel screws over aluminium? — Steel screws offer significantly better durability and strength compared to aluminium alternatives. They resist stripping during assembly and disassembly, maintain their integrity under vibration and stress, and won't deform or crack when tightened to proper torque. For serious RC builders and bashers, steel is always the superior choice.
- Can I reuse these screws multiple times? — Yes, because they're manufactured from hardened steel and meet DIN912 specifications, these screws can be removed and reinstalled multiple times without losing their integrity or developing stripped threads, making them economical for ongoing maintenance.
- Will these screws rust? — The black finish provides corrosion resistance, but these are not stainless steel. For long-term storage in damp conditions, store them in a dry location. For outdoor RC use in normal conditions, the coating will protect them effectively.
- How many screws do I get in a pack? — Each pack contains 10 screws, providing excellent value and ensuring you have multiple spares for repairs, upgrades, and building multiple models simultaneously.
- Is the 16mm length suitable for my application? — The 16mm length works well for mid-range fastening on suspension mounts, body posts, and frame components. However, compare against existing fasteners on your model to ensure compatibility, as some applications may require shorter or longer alternatives.
