Overview
The Associated B6/B6.1 Aluminium Bulkhead (AS91658) is an essential upgrade component for serious RC buggy enthusiasts running Associated's B6-series platforms. Whether you're competing at the track or fine-tuning your RC car UK setup for optimal performance, this precision-engineered aluminium bulkhead delivers the geometry adjustments needed to extract maximum performance from your chassis. As one of the most popular 1/10 scale RC buggies in the UK, the B6 and its variants demand quality spare parts, and this bulkhead stands out as a purpose-built solution for competitive drivers and hobbyists alike.
Manufactured to exacting standards by Associated, this aluminium bulkhead provides adjustable kick-up geometry settings that allow you to dial in the perfect front-end setup for your driving style and track conditions. Rather than being locked into a single geometry, you gain the flexibility to fine-tune your RC buggy's handling characteristics through precise degree adjustments. The bulkhead features clear position markings that guide you toward common kick-up settings based on which B6-series chassis generation you're running, making setup straightforward even if you're new to geometry tuning. For anyone serious about getting the best from their Associated RC buggy, this spare part is an investment in competitive advantage and chassis versatility.
Available now from RC Model Shop, this aluminium bulkhead is in stock and ready to ship. It's the perfect upgrade for drivers looking to experiment with front-end geometry or replace a worn original component. The quality construction and precise engineering ensure long-lasting performance, whether you're running casual weekend bashers or serious competition rounds. This is genuine Associated equipment, backed by the expertise of a trusted UK RC retailer.
Key Features
- Adjustable Kick-Up Geometry — This bulkhead delivers ±2.5-degree kick-up adjustment capability, allowing you to refine your RC buggy's front-end geometry with precision. Kick-up adjustment is crucial for controlling how your buggy's front suspension responds under acceleration and braking, directly affecting traction, stability and cornering performance.
- Clear Position Markings — The bulkhead features clearly visible degree markings (+2.5 DEG and -2.5 DEG) printed directly on the component, helping you quickly identify and target the exact kick-up settings you want without guesswork or measurement errors during setup.
- Generation-Specific Compatibility — The design accounts for different baseline kick-up angles across B6 chassis generations. B6–B6.3 platforms start with a 27.5-degree baseline, whilst the newer B6.4 features a 22.5-degree baseline, meaning you get precisely the adjustment range you need for your specific model.
- Premium Aluminium Construction — Built from quality aluminium material, this bulkhead combines light weight with excellent rigidity and durability, essential properties for maintaining precise geometry under the stresses of competitive RC racing and track driving.
- Multiple Chassis Compatibility — This single part fits an impressive range of Associated B6-series models, from the RC10B6.1 through to the RC10B6.4, as well as the SC6 and T6 platforms, making it a versatile upgrade or replacement option across the entire family.
- Easy Installation — As a direct replacement component for Associated B6-series buggies, installation is straightforward for anyone with basic RC car maintenance experience, with no special tools or modifications required.
Technical Performance
The Associated B6/B6.1 Aluminium Bulkhead represents precision engineering in its purest form. Manufactured from quality aluminium, the part balances weight efficiency with structural rigidity — critical factors when you're trying to maintain consistent geometry under the dynamic loads of RC buggy racing. The adjustable kick-up mechanism provides exactly ±2.5 degrees of adjustment, a range that may seem modest but in reality represents the sweet spot for fine-tuning front-end response without over-complicating setup or introducing instability. For B6–B6.3 chassis models with their standard 27.5-degree kick-up baseline, the -2.5 position delivers 25 degrees (preferred by many drivers for improved traction and low-speed stability), whilst the +2.5 position achieves 30 degrees (favoured when you need sharper turn-in response and increased ride height clearance). The newer B6.4 generation, featuring a 22.5-degree baseline, can achieve 20 degrees and 25 degrees of kick-up through the same adjustment mechanism. The clear degree markings mean you're not estimating or guessing — you can dial in precise geometry adjustments and replicate your setup consistently between sessions. This level of precision tuning capability transforms an RC buggy from a stock performer into a competition-grade machine where every tenth of a second matters. The aluminium construction ensures the bulkhead maintains its shape and dimensional accuracy over thousands of hours of running, resisting the flex and wear that can develop in cheaper plastic alternatives.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What does kick-up geometry mean and why does it matter on my RC buggy? — Kick-up is the angle of the front suspension measured from horizontal. It controls how your buggy's front end rises during acceleration and how it settles during braking. More kick-up (higher degrees) means your buggy will have more front-end lift and response, useful on rough tracks or when you want sharp turn-in. Less kick-up (lower degrees) gives you lower front ride height and can improve traction on smooth or high-grip surfaces. This bulkhead lets you adjust between settings without swapping entire components.
- Which B6 models does this bulkhead fit? — This part is compatible with RC10B6.1, RC10B6.1D, RC10B6.1DL, RC10B6.2, RC10B6.2D, RC10B6.3, RC10B6.3D, RC10B6.4, RC10B6.4D, RC10SC6.1, RC10SC6.2, RC10T6.1 and RC10T6.2. If you own any of these Associated models, this bulkhead is a direct fit upgrade or replacement component.
- What are the different kick-up settings available? — For B6–B6.3 models, your baseline is 27.5 degrees. Using the -2.5 DEG position gives you 25 degrees kick-up, whilst the +2.5 DEG position delivers 30 degrees. For B6.4 models with a 22.5-degree baseline, you can achieve 20 degrees and 25 degrees of kick-up. These predetermined settings take the guesswork out of geometry tuning.
- How does this compare to the original bulkhead? — This aluminium component provides the same adjustable geometry functionality as any standard B6-series bulkhead, but with the advantage of premium material construction. The clear marking system (now showing +2.5 DEG and -2.5 DEG rather than absolute degree numbers) makes it simpler to navigate between preferred settings. It's an ideal replacement if your original has worn out, or an upgrade if you want the added durability of aluminium.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Yes and no. Installation is straightforward for anyone with basic RC car experience, but understanding and tuning kick-up geometry requires some knowledge of RC buggy setup. If you're just starting out, you'll likely run the baseline setting first and then experiment as you develop your skills. The clear markings help guide you toward sensible settings.
- Do I need to replace my original bulkhead? — Only if it's worn, damaged, or if you're looking to upgrade to the adjustable geometry capability. If you already have a working bulkhead, you don't need to replace it immediately. However, serious competitors often prefer the adjustability for fine-tuning performance.
