Key Features
- Genuine Team Associated Part — This is an authentic manufacturer part bearing the official AS91307 designation, ensuring perfect fit and compatibility with genuine Team Associated 12mm Big Bore Rear Shock Kits, eliminating any guesswork about fitment accuracy.
- TiN Titanium Nitride Coating — The advanced TiN finish provides a hard, durable surface that resists wear and corrosion far better than standard uncoated shock shafts, extending component life and maintaining smooth operation through extended racing seasons.
- 35x3mm Precision Dimensions — Manufactured to exact specifications of 35x3mm, this shaft ensures perfect compatibility with the Team Associated 12mm Big Bore shock body and all internal components, maintaining the precision suspension geometry your RC buggy depends on.
- Broad Vehicle Compatibility — Works with the Team Associated SC10, RC10T4, RC10T4.1, RC10T4.2, SC10.2, and SC10GT platforms, making this a versatile spares part for owners of multiple Associated vehicles in their RC car collection.

- Professional-Grade Finish — The TiN coating represents the same quality standard used in Team Associated factory racing and competition vehicles, bringing that level of engineering excellence to your own RC setup.
Technical Performance
This replacement shock shaft represents Team Associated's commitment to precision manufacturing and durability in RC suspension components. The 35x3mm dimensions are engineered to work in harmony with the 12mm big bore shock body, creating a suspension system capable of handling the demands of high-speed circuit racing, off-road bashing, and competition-level driving. The TiN coating is not merely a cosmetic finish; it's a functional engineering enhancement that reduces friction between the shaft and shock piston seals, allowing suspension movement to remain smooth and predictable even after extended use. The titanium nitride plating process creates a surface finish measured at several micrometres thick, providing hardness levels that prevent scoring, scratching, and wear that would otherwise develop during normal shock compression and extension cycles. In the context of RC car UK racing and hobby use, maintaining shock shaft integrity is crucial because any wear or deformation directly impacts ride height consistency, suspension geometry, and ultimately handling characteristics. The 35x3mm specification is particularly suited to vehicles equipped with 12mm diameter shock bodies, and the precision tolerance ensures zero play or unwanted movement within the shock assembly. For owners of Team Associated RC10T4 models, SC10 short course trucks, and the latest RC10T4.2 platforms, this shaft maintains the engineering standards that make these vehicles competitive in both club racing and casual recreational use. The TiN finish also provides modest corrosion resistance, which proves valuable for users who occasionally run their RC buggies in damp UK conditions or after exposure to salt-laden environments.

Frequently Asked Questions
- Which Team Associated vehicles use the 12mm Big Bore Shock Shaft? — This 35x3mm TiN shock shaft is compatible with Team Associated SC10, RC10T4, RC10T4.1, RC10T4.2, SC10.2, and SC10GT vehicles that are equipped with the optional Team Associated 12mm Big Bore Rear Shock Kit (ASC91317). If you own any of these platforms and have fitted big bore shocks, this is the correct replacement shaft for your vehicle.
- What is TiN coating and why does it matter on a shock shaft? — TiN (Titanium Nitride) coating is a hard, thin layer applied to the shaft surface that resists wear, scratching, and corrosion far more effectively than bare steel or alloy. On shock shafts, this coating reduces friction with the shock piston seals, meaning your suspension continues to move smoothly lap after lap, maintaining consistent handling characteristics and extending the serviceable life of your shock kit. This is why TiN-coated shafts are favoured by serious racers and competition-level RC enthusiasts.
- When should I replace my shock shaft? — If you notice your shocks feeling less responsive, your vehicle sitting lower on one side, or visible bending or scoring on the shaft, it's time to replace it. Regular maintenance involves inspecting shock shafts for signs of wear, particularly after heavy impacts, crashes, or extended racing seasons. Replacing a worn shaft restores your suspension's original performance characteristics.
- Is this a genuine Team Associated part? — Yes, absolutely. This part bears the official Team Associated part number AS91307 and comes from the manufacturer's parts network, ensuring you receive a component engineered and tested to the same exacting standards as the original equipment on your RC vehicle.
- Can I use this shaft with aftermarket shock bodies? — This shaft is specifically designed for the Team Associated 12mm Big Bore Shock Kit (ASC91317). While the 35x3mm dimensions may fit other 12mm shock bodies, we recommend confirming compatibility with your specific shock assembly before purchase to ensure proper fitment and performance.
- What's the difference between this TiN shaft and a standard shock shaft? — Standard shock shafts typically use bare steel or basic coating finishes that wear relatively quickly with use, while this TiN-coated shaft benefits from advanced surface hardening that dramatically increases wear resistance. The TiN finish also reduces friction, maintaining smoother operation throughout the shaft's service life and reducing the frequency of maintenance and replacement.
