Overview
The Team Associated RC8B4 Center Dogbone Set is a genuine OEM replacement component designed specifically for the RC8B4 and RC8B4.1 platforms. This 115mm centre dogbone set is an essential drivetrain component that maintains smooth and efficient power transfer from your RC car's transmission to the wheels. Whether you are an experienced RC racer in the UK, a weekend basher, or someone maintaining their RC buggy after intensive use, this replacement part ensures your vehicle continues to perform at its best.
Dogbone sets are critical drivetrain elements in modern RC buggies and race cars. The centre dogbone, also known as a centre drive shaft, connects the main transmission to the differential and must be perfectly maintained to ensure consistent handling, straight-line stability and responsive steering. The 115mm length specification is tailored to the RC8B4 platform geometry, making it the ideal choice for owners who need a direct factory replacement. If you own an RC8B4 or RC8B4.1 buggy and have noticed any wobbling in the drivetrain, heard clicking noises, or simply want to perform preventative maintenance on your RC car UK investment, this is the component you need.
Team Associated is a world-renowned manufacturer of precision RC cars and spare parts, trusted by competitors and hobbyists across the globe. Their spare parts are engineered to exacting standards and are the genuine article you should be using for your RC8B4. By choosing this official Team Associated centre dogbone set, you are choosing reliability, fit and longevity for your RC buggy. This replacement part is ideal for routine maintenance, repairs after impact damage, or as a spare to keep in your pit bag at the track.

Technical Performance
The RC8B4 Center Dogbone Set represents Team Associated's commitment to precision engineering in RC drivetrain components. At 115mm in length, this centre dogbone is engineered to maintain the exact geometric relationships required by the RC8B4 platform's transmission and differential layout. The component is manufactured to tight tolerances to ensure minimal play in the drivetrain whilst allowing smooth rotation under load. This level of engineering ensures that power is transferred efficiently from your motor through the transmission to the wheels without any loss of response or control. The dogbone set is designed to withstand the forces generated by both high-speed racing and aggressive bashing, making it suitable for various driving styles and conditions. Frequently Asked Questions
- What is a centre dogbone and why does my RC8B4 need one? — The centre dogbone, also called a centre drive shaft, is a critical component of your RC buggy's drivetrain that connects the transmission directly to the differential. It transfers power from your motor and transmission to the wheels and absorbs significant stress during acceleration, deceleration and cornering. Over time, constant use can wear or damage the dogbone, causing driveline slack, clicking noises, or loss of responsiveness. A replacement centre dogbone set restores your RC8B4 to proper working condition and ensures smooth, efficient power delivery.
- Will this centre dogbone fit my RC car UK? — This 115mm centre dogbone set is specifically engineered for the Team Associated RC8B4 and RC8B4.1 platforms. Before purchasing, confirm your vehicle matches one of these models by checking your RC buggy's manual or product documentation. Dogbone sets are model-specific due to precise drivetrain geometry requirements, so it is essential to verify compatibility before installation.
- Do I need set screws for installation? — Team Associated note that #89221 set screws are available separately. Check your vehicle's manual to confirm whether set screws are required for your specific installation, as this may vary depending on your RC8B4's configuration and whether you are replacing a damaged component or performing routine maintenance.
- Is this suitable for beginners? — Whilst this is a genuine spare part rather than a complete RC car, it is suitable for beginner-level maintenance if you have basic mechanical knowledge and your vehicle's manual. If you are unfamiliar with RC car drivetrain maintenance, we recommend consulting the manual or seeking guidance from experienced RC enthusiasts before attempting installation.
- What should I do before installing a new centre dogbone? — Refer to your RC8B4 vehicle manual to confirm the required length and part number before installation. The manual will also provide step-by-step installation instructions specific to your model. Proper installation is essential to ensure the component functions correctly and your RC buggy performs as intended.
- How often should I replace or maintain my centre dogbone? — The lifespan of a centre dogbone depends on your driving style and intensity. Aggressive bashing and racing will accelerate wear, whilst casual driving extends component life. Inspect your drivetrain regularly for signs of wear, play or damage, and replace the dogbone if you notice performance changes or damage to the component.
