Overview

The Team Associated M4x8mm Flat Head Cap Screws (FHCS), part number AS81268, are precision fastening components designed specifically for radio-control models and hobby applications. These countersunk screws are an essential spare part for RC enthusiasts in the UK who maintain and upgrade their RC cars, whether they're running a Team Associated SR7 or other compatible models. Whether you're a seasoned RC car UK competitor or a weekend basher, having quality replacement screws on hand ensures your RC model stays in perfect working condition.

Flat head cap screws are the preferred choice for applications where a flush, snag-free finish is essential. Unlike standard socket head cap screws that protrude above the surface, these FHCS screws sit flush within countersunk holes, creating a clean, professional appearance on chassis plates, mounts and accessories. This design prevents snagging on track obstacles and reduces drag, making them particularly valuable for competitive RC enthusiasts. The M4x8mm specification makes these screws versatile enough for various mounting applications across multiple RC platforms.

If you're building or maintaining an RC model that demands reliability and attention to detail, quality fasteners like these Team Associated FHCS screws are non-negotiable. Stock up on spare parts to ensure you're always ready for the next race day or driving session, and experience the difference that genuine, precision-engineered components make to your RC experience.

Key Features

  • M4 Thread Size — The M4 metric thread is a standard fastening specification for radio-control models, ensuring compatibility with pre-tapped holes across a wide range of RC car platforms and aftermarket parts commonly used in the UK RC hobby.
  • 8mm Length — This specific length is engineered to provide optimal holding depth for common RC chassis plates, body mounts and accessory brackets without over-threading or creating installation issues.
  • Flat Head Cap Screw (Countersunk) Profile — The countersunk design allows these screws to sit flush with the mounting surface, eliminating protrusions that could snag on track objects or debris during racing or bashing sessions, whilst maintaining a sleek, professional appearance on your RC model.
  • Precision Engineering — Team Associated screws are manufactured to exacting standards, ensuring consistent fit and reliable fastening performance, which is critical for maintaining component security during high-speed RC driving.
  • Authentic Team Associated Component — These are genuine OEM (original equipment manufacturer) screws from Team Associated, guaranteeing compatibility and quality that meets the exact specifications required by Team Associated chassis and components.
  • Spare Parts Pack — Ideal for enthusiasts who maintain their own RC models, these screws provide replacement fasteners for lost, stripped or damaged originals, ensuring your RC car stays race-ready and properly assembled.

Technical Performance

These Team Associated M4x8mm FHCS screws represent the kind of precision engineering that separates professional-grade RC components from generic alternatives. The flat head cap screw design is engineered specifically for applications where surface flush mounting is critical to performance and aesthetics. The M4 metric thread provides strong, reliable fastening without over-sizing, which is essential in RC applications where component weight and material integrity matter. The 8mm length has been carefully calculated to provide adequate holding depth in standard RC chassis materials whilst avoiding over-threading, which could strip plastic or damage threaded inserts. These screws are manufactured from high-quality steel with proper heat treatment to resist corrosion and maintain their structural integrity through repeated installation and removal cycles. The countersunk profile means that once installed, these fasteners create zero protrusion—critical for chassis plates that need to sit flush against the car's body or mounting surfaces. Whether you're securing chassis plates to your Team Associated SR7, mounting accessories, or performing routine maintenance on your RC model, these FHCS screws deliver the reliability and precision that competitive RC enthusiasts expect.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Are these screws compatible with my Team Associated RC car? — These M4x8mm FHCS screws are specifically designed as spare parts for Team Associated models, with confirmed compatibility for the Team Associated SR7. However, the M4 thread size is a standard metric specification used across many RC platforms, so they may also fit other RC cars that utilise M4 countersunk applications. We recommend checking your model's manual or contacting our team before assuming compatibility with other manufacturers' models.
  • What makes flat head cap screws different from regular socket head screws? — Flat head cap screws feature a countersunk design that sits flush with the mounting surface, whereas standard socket head cap screws protrude above the surface. This flush design is essential for RC chassis plates and accessories where protruding fasteners could snag on track obstacles, reduce aerodynamic efficiency, or compromise the professional appearance of your RC model. For RC car applications, FHCS are the preferred choice wherever surface flush mounting is required.
  • Why would I need replacement screws for my RC car? — During regular RC hobby activities—whether racing at a track or bashing in off-road environments—screws can become lost, stripped, or damaged. Having genuine replacement fasteners on hand means you can quickly get your RC model back into service without waiting for delivery or making do with inferior alternatives. These Team Associated screws are ideal for enthusiasts who maintain their own RC cars and want to ensure they always have quality components available.
  • Will these screws work with plastic and metal chassis materials? — Yes, these M4x8mm screws are suitable for use with the standard materials found in RC models, including plastic chassis plates and components with threaded metal inserts. The 8mm length provides adequate holding depth without over-threading, making them safe for use with pre-tapped holes in both plastic and metal materials common in RC construction.
  • Are these genuine Team Associated parts? — Yes, these are authentic OEM (original equipment manufacturer) screws from Team Associated, part number AS81268. Purchasing genuine components ensures exact compatibility and the quality standards that Team Associated is recognised for throughout the RC hobby in the UK and worldwide.
