Technical Performance
The Team Associated Rear Springs V2 Orange (AS81238) are precision engineered suspension components manufactured to exacting tolerances. With a 4.9 lb/in spring constant, these springs deliver moderate compliance that suits a wide range of driving conditions and setups. The L86 length measurement, combined with the 9.5T turn count and 1.6D wire diameter specification, creates a spring with predictable force characteristics that align perfectly with Team Associated's established tuning documentation. Frequently Asked Questions
- Which Team Associated RC cars are compatible with these V2 rear springs? — These springs are designed for use on the RC8B4, RC8B4e, RC8T4 and RC8T4e models, making them suitable for owners of these popular Team Associated platforms.
- What does the 4.9 lb/in spring rate mean and how does it affect my RC car's handling? — The 4.9 lb/in rating indicates how much force is required to compress the spring by one inch. A medium rate like this provides balanced rear suspension compliance, offering good traction and stability across mixed track conditions whilst maintaining responsive handling characteristics. Softer springs (lower lb/in) provide more compliance and traction, whilst stiffer springs (higher lb/in) reduce body roll and improve responsiveness.
- How do the L86, 9.5T and 1.6D specifications relate to my setup? — These measurements define the spring's physical characteristics: L86 is the overall length, 9.5T refers to the number of turns in the spring coil, and 1.6D indicates the wire diameter. These specifications ensure exact compatibility with your Associated RC model and align with Team Associated's tuning charts and setup guides.
- Are these genuine Team Associated parts? — Yes, these are authentic Team Associated components manufactured to the same standards as your original equipment, ensuring consistent quality and performance.
- Can I mix different spring rates on my RC car? — Yes, many drivers use different spring rates front and rear to tune their suspension balance. However, it's recommended to follow Team Associated's tuning guides when mixing spring rates to ensure optimal handling characteristics.
- What if I'm new to RC car setup and spring tuning? — These springs are suitable for RC enthusiasts with intermediate setup knowledge. If you're new to suspension tuning, we recommend consulting Team Associated's setup guides or asking our experienced team at RC Model Shop for advice on which spring rates suit your driving style and track conditions.
- Do these springs come with installation instructions? — These are replacement springs that install directly into the rear suspension of compatible models. Your RC car's manual will provide detailed installation guidance, and our team at RC Model Shop is happy to help with any questions during fitment.
