Overview

The Team Associated RC8B3/RC8B3.1 Bleeder Shock Cap Seals represent a precision engineering component designed specifically for competitive RC car enthusiasts and serious hobbyists across the UK. These 16mm seals are engineered to work in conjunction with bleeder shock caps, unlocking the ability to run emulsion-style shocks on your RC8 buggy. Whether you're racing at your local track or enjoying weekend bashing sessions, these seals provide the tuning flexibility needed to optimise your suspension for a wide variety of track conditions. For anyone seeking to elevate their RC car performance and gain that competitive edge, these genuine Team Associated parts are an essential upgrade.

Emulsion-style shocks have long been the gold standard in competitive RC racing, and for good reason. They provide superior damping characteristics across a broader range of track surfaces and conditions. The Team Associated RC8B3 Bleeder Shock Cap Seals enable this advanced suspension setup, making them an invaluable addition to your RC spares collection. These seals are particularly well-suited to drivers who regularly encounter tracks with dramatic elevation changes, large jumps, and abrupt flat landings, as well as those who compete on looser, more unpredictable surfaces where suspension compliance makes all the difference.

As an authorised Team Associated retailer, RC Model Shop is proud to stock these genuine OEM components. When you choose these bleeder shock cap seals, you're investing in factory-engineered quality and compatibility that ensures perfect fitment and reliability on your RC8 platform. Whether you're upgrading your existing setup or building out a complete suspension tuning arsenal, these seals represent an affordable yet critical investment in your RC car's performance.

Key Features

  • 16mm Seal Size — Specifically engineered to fit the shock cap assembly on Team Associated RC8 series buggies, ensuring precise dimensional compatibility and creating a reliable seal for emulsion shock operations.
  • Pack of Four Seals — The pack includes four individual seals, providing multiple replacement options and allowing you to upgrade all four corners of your RC buggy's suspension system in one purchase.
  • Emulsion-Style Shock Capability — When paired with bleeder shock caps, these seals enable the use of emulsion-damping technology, which offers superior shock absorption and control across varying track conditions compared to standard sealed shocks.
  • Optimised for Jump and Landing Absorption — The emulsion shock setup enabled by these seals is particularly effective on tracks featuring large jumps and flat landings, where proper suspension compliance prevents bottoming out and maintains consistent handling.
  • Loose Surface Performance — Emulsion shocks provide improved compliance on looser track surfaces such as dirt, clay, and sand, allowing your RC buggy to maintain better traction and more predictable handling characteristics.
  • Genuine Team Associated Engineering — As official OEM parts manufactured by Team Associated, these seals meet the exact specifications and quality standards required for optimal performance on RC8 series buggies.
  • Simple Installation — These seals integrate seamlessly with existing bleeder shock cap assemblies, requiring no modifications to your RC car and offering straightforward installation for any experienced RC hobbyist.
  • Competitive Racing Quality — Designed and approved for competitive RC racing use, these seals are trusted by serious competitors and racing clubs throughout the UK RC community.

Technical Performance

The Team Associated RC8B3/RC8B3.1 Bleeder Shock Cap Seals are precision-engineered elastomer components manufactured to exacting tolerances. The 16mm seal diameter is precisely matched to the shock cap assembly found on Team Associated's RC8 platform, including the RC8B3, RC8B3.1, RC8B3.1e, RC8B3.2, RC8B3.2e, RC8B3e, RC8B4, RC8B4e, RC8T3, RC8T3.1, RC8T3.1e, RC8T3e, RC8T4, and RC8T4e models. These seals function as critical components in an emulsion shock system, which operates by allowing controlled fluid flow through bleed orifices rather than relying solely on spring compression and rebound damping. The material composition provides consistent sealing performance across temperature ranges typical of outdoor RC racing, whilst maintaining flexibility to accommodate the micro-movements inherent in suspension operation. Build quality is exceptional, reflecting Team Associated's reputation for manufacturing components that withstand the demanding stresses of competitive RC racing. The engineering philosophy behind emulsion shocks prioritises progressive damping response, which proves invaluable on modern race tracks that incorporate challenging elevation changes, substantial jumps, and variable surface conditions. By enabling this advanced suspension technology, these seals contribute to improved shock absorption, better weight transfer during acceleration and braking, and more consistent handling throughout a race or practice session. For serious RC enthusiasts and competitors seeking to maximise their buggy's performance potential, these seals represent a foundational upgrade that delivers measurable improvements in lap times and overall driving experience.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is an emulsion shock and why would I want to use one on my RC buggy? — Emulsion shocks represent an advanced suspension technology where damping is controlled by carefully measured fluid bleed orifices rather than pure spring compression. This approach delivers superior performance across varied track conditions, particularly on challenging surfaces with large jumps, flat landings, and loose terrain. The controlled fluid displacement provides more consistent damping throughout the shock's stroke range, resulting in better weight transfer, improved handling predictability, and ultimately faster lap times. If you're serious about competitive RC racing or seeking to optimise your RC car's performance, upgrading to emulsion shocks is one of the most impactful suspension modifications available.
  • Are these bleeder shock cap seals suitable for beginners? — Whilst these seals themselves are straightforward components to install, emulsion shock systems are generally considered an advanced tuning option best suited to experienced RC enthusiasts who have already mastered basic maintenance and have some suspension tuning knowledge. Beginners should first become comfortable with standard sealed shocks before progressing to emulsion systems. That said, if you have experience working on RC cars and understand suspension fundamentals, these seals are an excellent next step in your RC car's development.
  • Which RC8 models are these seals compatible with? — Team Associated designed these 16mm bleeder shock cap seals for use across the entire RC8 platform. Compatibility includes the RC8B3, RC8B3.1, RC8B3.1e, RC8B3.2, RC8B3.2e, RC8B3e, RC8B4, RC8B4e, RC8T3, RC8T3.1, RC8T3.1e, RC8T3e, RC8T4, and RC8T4e models. Before ordering, confirm that your specific RC8 variant appears on this compatibility list.
  • Do I need anything else to set up emulsion shocks on my RC buggy? — Yes, these seals must be used in combination with bleeder shock caps to create a functioning emulsion shock system. You'll also need shock bodies, springs, dampers, and shock oil formulated specifically for emulsion shocks. We recommend consulting Team Associated's official setup guides and tuning resources to ensure you have all necessary components and understand the correct assembly procedure.
  • What makes Team Associated parts the preferred choice for RC8 owners in the UK? — Team Associated has engineered these components specifically for their RC8 platform, ensuring perfect compatibility and optimal performance. As the original equipment manufacturer, Team Associated's parts meet the exact specifications required for reliable operation. Choosing genuine OEM parts like these seals ensures you're building with components that have been tested and proven in competitive RC racing environments across the UK and globally.
  • How do emulsion shocks perform compared to standard sealed shocks? — Emulsion shocks deliver superior damping consistency, particularly on challenging terrain. Standard sealed shocks rely primarily on spring rate and internal piston resistance, which can result in less predictable performance on varied surfaces. Emulsion shocks, enabled by these seals when combined with bleeder shock caps, provide progressive damping that adapts more effectively to track irregularities, jumps, and loose surfaces, translating to better handling and improved overall performance for serious racers.
