Overview
The Team Associated DR10 Shock Springs in purple are a premium suspension tuning component designed for RC enthusiasts who want to fine-tune their vehicle's handling characteristics. These 7 lb/in shock springs represent a stiffer option compared to the standard DR10 stock springs, making them an essential upgrade for RC car UK users looking to optimise performance on high-traction surfaces. Whether you're competing on prepared tracks or simply seeking better stability and grip, these springs offer a straightforward yet highly effective tuning solution that can transform your RC buggy or short-course truck's suspension response.
The springs measure 44mm in length and feature a distinctive purple colour that makes them easy to identify during maintenance and tuning sessions. They are engineered to increase stability and traction on smooth, high-bite surfaces, where consistent grip is available throughout your run. These shock springs are particularly valued by RC enthusiasts who understand that suspension tuning is often the difference between winning and losing in competitive racing, or between a sluggish, unpredictable vehicle and a planted, responsive machine that inspires confidence.
If you're serious about your RC hobby and want to extract maximum performance from your Associated platform, these springs are an investment in precision handling and improved weight transfer management. Team Associated has built a reputation for manufacturing quality aftermarket parts that deliver tangible performance improvements, and these DR10 shock springs are no exception. Available now at RC Model Shop, they represent excellent value for money and are backed by our commitment to supplying genuine, authorised products to the UK RC community.
Key Features
- 7 lb/in Spring Rate — This stiffer spring rate provides more resistance than stock springs, which translates to improved stability when cornering at speed and better traction on prepared, high-bite racing surfaces where the ground offers consistent grip. The increased stiffness reduces excessive weight transfer during acceleration and braking, keeping your RC car more planted and controllable.
- 44mm Length — Sized to fit perfectly on Team Associated DR10 and related platforms, the 44mm length ensures correct suspension geometry and ride height for optimal performance and handling characteristics specific to these vehicles.
- Purple Colour Identification — The distinctive purple finish makes these springs instantly recognisable during setup changes, maintenance routines, and tuning comparisons with other spring rates. This colour coding system helps you quickly identify spring specifications without needing to measure or check documentation repeatedly.
- Fine-Tuning Capability — As a straightforward suspension tuning part, these springs allow you to dial in exactly the right balance of softness and stiffness for your particular driving style, track conditions, and setup preferences. Simply swapping springs is one of the fastest ways to adjust suspension response without requiring complex technical knowledge.
- Enhanced Rear-End Grip — Specifically engineered to improve rear-end grip and reduce weight transfer on prepared, high-traction tracks, these springs give your RC car that planted feel that competitive drivers demand. Better grip means faster lap times, more consistent performance, and reduced risk of losing control during aggressive cornering.
- Designed for Smooth, High-Bite Surfaces — Perfect for racing on tarmac, sealed concrete, or specially prepared dirt tracks where the surface offers consistent adhesion, these springs help your vehicle make the most of available grip by preventing unnecessary suspension movement that would waste traction.
Technical Performance
The Team Associated DR10 Shock Springs represent precision engineering at its finest, combining careful material selection with exact spring rate specification to deliver predictable, repeatable suspension performance. With a spring rate of 7 lb/in, these springs are measurably stiffer than the stock specification, making them suitable for drivers who have mastered the basics and are ready to fine-tune their setup for competitive performance. The 44mm length ensures perfect fitment on compatible platforms including the DR10, DR10M, RB10, and SR10, maintaining correct suspension geometry and ride height. Built to Team Associated's exacting standards, these springs demonstrate the quality and attention to detail that has made the brand a trusted name amongst serious RC car enthusiasts across the UK. The purple colour identification system makes them easy to distinguish from other spring rates, reducing the chance of accidentally installing the wrong specification. Whether you're preparing for a race meeting, dialling in your weekend basher's handling, or simply experimenting with suspension tuning, these springs deliver the performance and reliability you need to succeed.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the difference between 7 lb/in springs and stock DR10 springs? — The 7 lb/in springs supplied here are a stiffer option than the DR10 stock springs. This means they compress less under load, providing improved stability and traction on smooth, high-bite surfaces. Stiffer springs reduce weight transfer during cornering and acceleration, keeping your RC car more planted and predictable. If you're racing on prepared tracks or high-grip surfaces, these springs will give you better control and faster lap times.
- Which RC vehicles are these springs compatible with? — These Team Associated springs are designed to fit the DR10, DR10M, RB10, and SR10 platforms. The 44mm length and connection points are matched to these specific vehicles. Always check your vehicle's manual to ensure compatibility before purchasing, and verify that the shock body has the same mounting configuration as these springs.
- Are these springs suitable for a beginner? — Whilst these springs are not inherently difficult to install, they are best suited to intermediate or advanced RC enthusiasts who understand suspension tuning and have experience with their chosen vehicle. Beginners may be better served by running the stock spring rate whilst they learn vehicle control. However, if you're ready to explore suspension setup and optimisation, these springs are an excellent next step in your RC journey.
- How do I know which spring rate I need for my track? — Spring rate selection depends on your track surface, driving style, and current setup. Smooth, high-traction tracks benefit from stiffer springs like these 7 lb/in units because the ground offers good grip and you need stability rather than suspension flexibility. Softer springs work better on bumpy or low-grip surfaces. Start with the stock rate, then adjust based on how your vehicle behaves — if it feels loose and unstable on corners, try stiffer springs; if the ride feels harsh and uncontrolled on bumps, try softer springs.
- Do I need to purchase new springs regularly? — Shock springs don't wear out like tyres or brake pads. They maintain their spring rate indefinitely and only need replacement if they become damaged, bent, or permanently deformed through misuse. A quality set of springs like this should last for years of regular RC driving, making them a one-time investment in your setup.
- Can I use these springs on other Team Associated vehicles? — These 44mm springs are specifically listed for DR10, DR10M, RB10, and SR10 platforms. Whilst these vehicles share similar designs, do not assume compatibility with other Associated models unless the vehicle manual explicitly states that these dimensions will fit. Using incorrect spring sizes can affect suspension geometry, handling, and safety.
